  1. Actually, she played pretty well in the finals last year, i think she had like 16 kills and hit .350 or so. It was Larson who struggled badly last year and came up huge this year. Pavan was certainly the dominating force on the floor, and she said she needed to be that this year, and DEMAND the ball, which she did this year.
  2. It was on espn2, im pretty sure they have that everywhere...
  3. ummm.... look at the video that is provided, i dont care who your cousin was, he wasnt doing THAT in high school...
  4. Taylor Mays, who starts as a true freshman at safety for USC, and who we recruited heavily is 6'4''
  5. We gave up, considering the fumble at the two yard line, 14 true points to a team that has only legitmately lost one game all year. We only have up 21 to a team that hasnt scored under twenty in like fifty years or something rediculus like that. I thought our offense let us down a heck of alot more than our defense did in the big games this year. You expect to win when you only let USC, Texas, and Oklahoma score in the low twenties, at least you better with the number nine offense in the country.
  6. Petito has a record of sending kids to Iowa though.... I dont think he likes the way the whole Solich thing was handled. We have had a tough time getting M North kids to come here since then.
  7. Paul is going to be the biggest impact player we get from this recruiting class. He is a playmaker. Anyone who has seen the video of him making a leaping catch in the back of the endzone knows what I mean. Couple that with gamebreaking speed... If he lived in Florida, he would be a top 5 recruit.
  8. I have serious doubts about elmassian. I know that he knows a hell of alot more about football than I ever will, but he has made two NFL corners (Washington and Bowman) look pretty darn bad at times. Say all you want about Grixby, but there are succesful short corners out there, and him and Jones were both highly recruited coming out of high school. Im just not sure if it is the techinique that Elmassian is teaching them, or the scheme that Cosgrove has them running. I dont know, but I know we have to be better at that position. Safeties I will give a pass on, no coach is going to make a running back and a walk on from eight man football look like ronnie lott and steve atwater out there, and it seems like they are consistantly in position to make some sort of play. We gave up nearly nothing in the middle of the field the whole year.
  9. Im not saying that they are not a legit opponet, or that anyone who plays them shouldnt take them seriously. I am just saying that anyone who wants to put them in the national title game based on their running a schedule headlined by an unranked Oregon State team is an idiot. There is absolutely no argument for putting them in the title game based on our current system of you only get to pick two teams. Now if there was a playoff, than I am all for putting them in it.
  10. First of all, Boise beat OSU at the beginning of the season. If I remember correctly, they were playing very poorly at the time, and came on at the end of the season, and dont try to use the well Oregon st beat USC, so by default BSU is close to where USC is at. In that case, San Jose state nearly beat Boise, who beat OSU, who beat USC by more than Boise beat San Jose State, so by your logic, SJSU is better than USC.... right. Second of all, what happened the last time this team played against a top teir opponet. I believe they got hammered by about 50 points against Georgia not that long ago. Third of all, a really good high school team would have a legit shot of going 500 in their conference, so no, they should not be rewarded at the same level as BCS teams with one loss or even two losses. Whine all you want about how these teams are screwed out of playing for national championships, but if you really want to play for one, there are over 60 fing bcs teams to go play for. So if you are that damn good, transfer.
  11. I take exception to your post skers.... not to the fact that Crouch was a whiny quitter, but last I checked, we scored 36 points against Colorado when we got blown out. You cant put all the blame for the downfall of a program on one quarterback's shoulders, especially when he won the heisman. If I remember correctly, that Husker team was one of the most prolific offensive husker teams of all time. Crouch didnt play defense, or recruit for that matter.
  12. Once again, I have to bring up the fact that Nebraska was not always an option, smash mouth running team. We have has a split end win the heisman, a wide receiver go in the first round of the draft, and we ran a pro style offense that produced a quarterback that took an nfl team to the superbowl. Taylor is going to win big twelve offensive player of the year, be first team all big twelve, and will own nearly every single passing record at Nebraska while throwing too Grant Mulkey, Todd Peterson, and JB Phillips, not Irving Fryar, or Johnny Rodgers. He deserves it more than some guys who are already up on that north stadium facade.
  13. Boise State is primarily a running team. Its alot tougher to push around Nebraska than it is to push around Utah State. That being said, lets concentrate on winning the next one first.
  14. Wow, the guy holds the career record at you school for yards, tds, completions, attempts, and everything else, and you arent gonna retire his jersey. Thats rediculus. His jersey should be retired hands down, no questions asked. His number should not be, that requires hall of fame type status, but his jersey? Easily.
  15. Murtha has been playing alot better recently. Thats why he has been playing alot more.
  16. Number 4, behind the greatest college quarterback ever, Tommie Frasier, followed by Eric Crouch, followed by Jerry Tagge, than ZT, than Scott Frost.
  17. This is a very interesting article... Also to consider, Nebraska has played every game since i think nicholls state at night. This could affect them too.
  18. You know, I think that the old ball coach might pull out a gameplan that no one has seen or expects for this game. I think that we are going to throw the ball 75% of the time in this game. Callahan has openly said that the biggest reason he wanted to make the running game a big part of the offense is to be able to win on the road. The team in comfortable with the noise level, the turf, and the gameday environment at Memorial Stadium... I guess its just my gut feeling, but I think we may see an Iowa State gameplan from last year on Saturday, but who knows?
  19. well, recruiting services didnt really expand to the prominent role they have now which allows them to be relatively accurate until the late 90's really, so there arent very many classes to compare them against... For instance, in retrospect, Ahman Green, who came in as a freshman and played very well for a national championship contending team, may very well have been a five star recruit nowadays, but who knows what he was listed as back then...
  20. yeah, the way time warner cable was set up, the game was actually spread out over two blocks on their "guide" There was a 4 pm to 8pm block and a 8pm to 10pm block. Not only did you not get the whole game recorded if you didnt pay close attention, but you also got two hours of a stupid screen that basically told you congradufuckulations for ordering the game. I think a two year old set it up...
  21. Freeman has no touch as of right now... make him put some air under the ball and he is completely ineffective and very unaccurate. All the guy can do is throw bullets.
  22. I thought he was bigger than that... like 6'3'' 210 or something like that.
  23. I hate Kansas State with an undying passion, and my hatred is grounded in actual events that occured during the K-State game during the 95 season. You see, that was the first game I ever attended. We were fresh off a national championship and primed to win another, and 8th ranked Kansas State came in hoping for a miracle upset of an unstopable team. I was 11 years old at the time, and this fact is central to the story. Me and my parents were just leaving the Nebraska bookstore, wearing new husker sweatshirts, and attempting to cross R street. We were in front of a throng of people waiting to cross the street, the foremost of which was, and I kid you not, a 300 lb woman wearing a K-State sweatshirt. I, being the typical 11 year old kid, had my head in the clouds as we were waiting to cross the street. The K-State fan decided, in the best interest of her team no doubt, that one less husker fan in this world can only be a good thing, and proceeded to tell me, an 11 year old, to go..... right into the middle of heavy traffic. I started heading into the street without looking, and I heard my Mom yell "No!!!" I turned around and stopped, and my dad, who I have never heard swear in my life other than on this occasion turned around and said what the f#*k is wrong with you? The K-State fan of course laughed and commented on how stupid Nebraska fans are. I guess when you a dumb f#*k, 300 Lb, Purple wearing, hillbilly, you have to pick on people your own level. Which in her case was 11 year olds. We of course went on to crush K-State, but there is not team on this planet, not the yankees, not colorado, not even the Minnesota Vikings, that I want to see get absolutely crushed/plastered/maimed/destroyed as mush as K State. All of Bill Snyder inbred family stadium can eat my a-hole. f#*k them.
  24. Oh please god I hope for his own health's sake he didnt say that. Thats all we need against Freeman, more motivation...
