GBR!!!

y'know... i really like nebraska...but to tell the truth, i think i'm gonna have to go with nebraska on this one. but you never can tell: nebraska could really suprise nebraska if nebraska doesn't bring their a-game. GBR!!!

Those two supposedly experts don't know enough about the Big Eight to realize how powerful that league was. No conference ever went 1,2,3, in a finale poll like the Big Eight did, and they did it by beating other teams in bowl games that had climbed up to #2, #3 because Neb, Okl, Col had knocked each other out of the #2 and#3 spots by beating each other during the regular season. I remember Bear Bryant saying he would not play any more Big Eight teams on the road after Nebraska knocked them off in Lincoln and wrecked there bid for a N/C. Most years the N/C went through the Big Eight. Getting into the Big 12 didn't help us at all, just saved a few dying teams in the SWC and killed our recruiting. Wished we could have left things alone but times change and so have I. LOL.... GBR!!!

I think if there was any way to keep him Callahan would have put some sort of package together. He must have had his mind made up for awhile. I guess the old days of staying with a program are over unless you have close ties with the school. I hate to see him go, it can't help with our recruiting for the rest of this year. He may have had only one kid committing so far but there were quite a few on the fence that he was working with. I doubt if we stay in the top 10 now, but we do have a lot of good ones moving up next year. Time will tell how big a hit this has on recruits for this year. It had to be tough for him to come into this program and try to keep the tradition going. To have the guts to change the offence and having to replace a favorite son coach, and follow two legends before. Other than that it should have been easy right? I think the Husker Nation has finally caught on with Callahan. He seems to work very hard at getting this program back to the top again. The recruits he has been bringing in says some thing about what he wants to do here. They must believe he wants to Restore the Order, because a lot of these kids wouldn't have come here before. I want to believe he's here for the long run, he's going to win some and lose some but it looks like he will be winning a lot more then he loses. Some of the fans are still sitting in the middle of the road and some will never come into the light and back him, but its got to be getting harder not to to want to get behind him as each season go's by. He's our coach and I will back him as long as he wants to coach this team. GBR!!!

Keller/Heisman- Just having that word linked to your name means the kid must have some pretty good talent. I expect the Huskers to beat USC. Wake Forest is the game I think we should be worried about. Where did those guys come from? I get to come back and see the USC game next year, after sitting at USC last year and watching us lose, it will be fun to watch us win with all the Husker fans. GBR!!!

I also think the defense will be very good next year. I don't know what to expect from Keller. Sure he can throw with the best of them, but has he picked up the WCO enough to go through his reads. Its not the same passing attack he was used to at ASU. I think the season comes down to how well he understands it. Lets hope he has a monster year, I want Order Restored. GBR!!!

You play the hand your dealt. I think the recruiting we are seeing this year on some of the top DB's tells us that the coaches know one of the biggest problems is at DB. It took Charlie M. some time to get his defense going also, and it turned out ok. Give Coz some time, if he didn't think he could get this defense playing like the Black Shirts we all are used to, I think he would have taken that NFL job. GBR!!!

With one shut down corner "Bowman" that would allow Shanle to help Grixby on passing downs more, also allows the LB to blitz more. Coz doesn't have the players he needs like Okl has. With Bowman in that game I think we win it. IMHO... GBR!!!

Wow...are you serious? On the hot seat after going 5-0 against the North and getting us to the Big XII Championship game/New Year's Day Bowl? That has to be a joke. Theres no way anyones on the hot seat. We all wanted to "just" win the North except a few that wanted a N/C already. I just hope we are lucky enough to keep this staff together for a few more years. Coach C. is going no where and neither are his coaches unless they chose to leave. GBR!!!

Callahan has this program on the right track. Like some of you have said a few plays here and there and we are looking at a 2 loss season so far. Recruits are starting to see waht hes doing here and he should be able to bring some top qb's very soon. I hope next year is even better but it all comes done again, to a new qb running this WCO. How quick can he pick it up in one year is the question. Coz has his hands tied a little because he still doesn't have all the right players he needs yet, but he sure called a hell of a game against Okl. Husker offense mistakes lost this game. Defense set them up several times with good field position. Just one of those games were Taylor wasn't clicking, it happens to the best of them. Plays were there, lot of missed chances. Jan 1st game can't complain about that. GBR!!!

Maybe deep passing early could open up the run. We do have the recievers to make Okl worry quite a bit about our passing ability. It could all be for naught if we don't wrap up their ball carriers on first contact. We have the offense to win this game if we don't just run the ball over and over just to prove we can, even if its not working. I think Callahan opens it up early. I think he remembers the USC game and any turn overs can put you in a hole quick. Win or lose this program is getting it turned around and next year should be a lot of fun to watch. GBR!!!

Give some jerks a little air time and they think there Gods gift to sports analysing. He has less credibility now more than ever. GBR!!!

He may have a little problem getting playing time next year with all the talent we have coming in next year. , GBR!!!
