I think now days you have to be able to throw the ball as well as run it, those teams not in the top 25 that seem to have bad defences because they are a running team, sounds like they are haveing the same problem as the Huskers. If you stack the line and stop the run and you can't throw the ball well enough to keep a defence honest then your defence is always on the field. Sure your going to look bad if its 3 and out 7 out of 10 times. Your defence is wore out. We used to do the wearing out of the other team. I think what Coach C is trying to do is a good idea, just don't know if and when he will have the players he needs to get this thing going. Even if he doesn't we should have a talented group of kids if a change is made later. I hope it works out for him just as I would for any other coach they would have brought in. I only want to see this program keep getting better as all of you do. I don't know if the option would have worked with Joe. D running it behind this years O/L. With no passing to keep the defence honest. GBR!!!

For some reason. I don't know why. I think this team will play like we have wanted them to all season, against K.st.. Or maybe I'm just a Husker fan and always think they will win. Or maybe I'm just confused....... GBR!!!

How can they afford to let anyone go, aren't they all recruiting someone? What do you tell that recruit, "hey" we just found out that he couldn't coach. Whats that say to the recruit about the coach or the rest of the staff. We need to wait till after the recruiting signing period is over, than sit down and see if everyone is on the same page. If changes are made at least it looks looks like it was thought out. To do anything now looks like we are in a panic mode. IMHO. GBR!!!

Big Willie you made some good points. We all understand that Husker fans are upset with the way this season and last years are going. Is it the coaches or the players or both? I don't think any of us really know for sure yet. IMO I think next year will give us a few of the answers, but we still don't have the w/r's, and freshman w/r's coming in next year is not going to be a quick fix either. I think Beck's soph year will tell if this wco is going to work or if they have the right coaches to coach it. Its hard to watch us lose 1,2,3 in a row, any defeat is tough on Husker fans. We have been spoiled for so long, and I for one have loved it. We still need to support these kids and show this years recruits that we still are the best fans in football. A great sea of red this week will boost the moral of these kids and show the ones we are recruiting that we never give up on this program. I am just as disappointed as the rest of you and I understand some of us come here to let off steam, its all we have. It shows how much passion we all have for this program. I for one always try to wait a few hours or the next day to post here. Cool down time. lol.. OK I'm ready for K.ST. GBR!!!!

This one is just as hard to take as any other loss, but I can't give up on this team. I know starting Beck won't change anything. Without an O/L USC's Q/B couldn't move this team. The defence cannot be on the field that long. Time to get ready for K.ST. I know this team won't give up and I won't either. GBR!!!!

Think how much better hes going to get with some more help. Herian would really cause cover problems if hes back at full speed next year.

2. The ability of the blackshirts to stop the run, when not playing a running QB 3. KU may have a "let down" after the emotional "high" vs Missouri I think you hit it right on the head with those two!! GBR!!!

This staff has had barely enough time to get their own personal Husker clothing apparel put together let alone a team. If they can keep recruiting the way they have so far than we should see a run at the Big 12 title in 2007 and a run at it all in 2008. If not than maybe it will be time for this staff to step down. Besides I haven't heard anyone even come up with a name that would solve the "supposed" coaching problem we seem to have. It would be different if this staff was still trying to run the option, than yeah run them out of town. We have to give this offence a chance . They think they have the q/b to run it with Beck, the r/b in Lucky, a couple of more w/r and a few more o/l or a least some more time with what we have to learn the blocking schemes. This doesn't happen over night. Thats why they recruit new players every year and thats why coaches don't sign 1 yr contracts. GBR!!!

We don't have the W/R's to run the W.C.O. smoothly yet but any w/r looking at this team has to be licking his chops knowing he has a chance to get early playing time. Same with with o/l recruits. This team is not that far off. IMO I think this staff is going to get it done. I just hope they don't read or at least take these post with a grain of salt, because all the complaining almost cost us T.O. back in the 70's and Colorado would have had all the trophies hanging in their trophy case. GBR!!!!!

Z. Taylor is doing a great job and Beck needs to wait till next year. He can't do anything now except waste a year. We could be set at Q/B for 4-7 years.

In 2006 we will be set at Q/B. Will be breaking in unproved R/B's. and few new O/l. 2007 Will be breaking in 2 new Q/B's, D/B's. but R/B"s and O/L should be much better by then. Should have C/B, S, L/B stock piled by then as long as we are getting high school recruits and not juco's. In 2006 we will be good and 2007 should be about the same, but I think 2008 is the year we go for all the marble's. I would like to see it happen before than but I won't throw this staff under the bus if it doesn't. They are bring in the player that can take this program back to where it belongs. I think they are going to do it. GBR!!!!

I cringe every time I see that crew of officials doing our game. Coach C. will start getting those calls soon. He needs a little more time in the conference. He needs to shake up some of these officials a little now, let them know hes serious about bring this program back to the top of college football. He was right on those holding calls, some holds were blatant. Two of them on O.U. last t/d run. First one at the line of scrimmage. This team won't give up thou, I love their heart. GBR!!!!

It was great to see him fired up. I think he starting to get into "Husker" football.

o/l and w/r's needed. Cosgrove needs to figure out 3rd down defence calling.

Adjustments have to be made quicker on defence, like sometime in the first 7 to 10 min of the 1st quarter, not in the last 5 min of the 2nd quarter. Maybe we should take the ball first if we win the coin flip and try to score "first" for a change of pace. Should be a good game and I think we will win the next 3. Is Murtha ready to start playing more we could sure use him? GBR!!!!!

Getting down 3 td's is hard to come back from, T.T and Mizzo got up big early. Cosgrove needs to be able to make changes half way thru the first 15 min not wait till all most half time. Hes not C. Mc Bride but even Mc.B had to take a few lumps early on before he could change things up quickly. He was a master at it. Granted Mc.B had to learn as he grew into the job and Cosgrove has had plenty of experience but I agree with some of our other board members. We still don't have all the players we need to stop some of the better teams, and some of these new juco's are still learning as they go. It won't be long the way this staff is recruiting that those players will soon be there. This program is coming back much faster than many people thought it would. It took ALA, USC, ND much longer to show what this team is already showing. Keep the faith after all this is the HUSKERS!!!! GBR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
