  1. I don't really care what happens to him. -I actually do care about him. He hasn't had the best of luck regarding his teenage years. My opinion of his character today isn't going to change. He still has an opportunity to change his life and do better. Based on getting caught with weed, regardless of the charges being dropped, shows me he's not yet ready to make good choices. -75-90% of young men, living there lives and making mistakes.
  2. I feel like I die a little inside every time I read these posts. 30-50 Feral Hogs, regarding this statement, "I'm very interested in hearing why he A. possessed a video that was directed to be deleted 3 years prior and B. Why he sent it to the girl with the phrase "remember this hoe". I am going to take the swing at why. A. possessed a video that was directed to be deleted 3 years prior and B -Someone sent him the video of his ex-girl friend giving two guys oral sex. 90% of the guys on this board, at 18 years old, would have saved this. Wrong, sure, but tell me who wouldn't have? B. Why he sent it to the girl with the phrase "remember this hoe" -because he was pissed that she wasn't interested in sex with him, and this was his response Hypothetically, lets say these are the answers to your questions. What do you want to happen if this is the case? Kicked off the team, suspension and/or jail? I am struggling understating the agenda of the individuals who want him out without knowing the truth about the case. Don’t give me the bulls#!t optics of the University. This is a University that has issues and imperfection’s just like all others. Additionally, this one issue doesn’t change the opinion of jackass Colorado fan or meathead internet media writer guy about UNL. This is my humble opinion of what should happened, exactly what is happening! He didn’t make the video nor was he in the video. Should he have done what he did? No. Could he pay severely because of the child porn law? Yes
  3. Cavanaugh visited Nathan today at Mesa. I should have some info Friday.
  4. Nathan will be at the Iowa game. He will be celebrating Thanksgiving with the team, staying the night and attending the game. We are back in business. Now I am blaming you guys if this doesn't work.
  5. I hate this so so much. Sorry guys, I really thought this was going to happen for NU. I guess they are still going to take an official visit to NU during a game, so maybe.
  6. Quick Update I did hear back form Nathans father Saturday night. They had a great visit, he got to meet some of the coaches and hit if off with some of the GA's. The only negative is that he didn't get to meet Riley or Cavanaugh, I think they were out of town. I know we want Nathan to commit now, but we are going to have to be patient. It appears that he is literally going to be able to pick any school in the country, so you can blame him and his family for looking at all options. My personal opinion- I still stand by my prediction that he chooses NE, but it wont be anytime soon. I think it is too perfect of a fit. I am playing a golf tournament with them next month, I will see if I can get him to sign. Best
  7. Good Afternoon, Quick update- Yes, Nathan and his father are coming to NE and they are very excited. Sounds like Missouri and Miami are giving him the most love, NU seems to be a little quiet over the last few weeks. I am sure it has to do with spring ball and the intense workload, etc. If anyone involved with recruiting is listening, this kid is ours to loose. His family and personality fits exactly what NUstands for, go freekn make it happen! On another note they asked what restaurants they should visit. It been about 15 years since I lived back in NE. I don't know much about the new places in the Haymarket. Outside of Lazlos and Misty what would you guys suggest? Best
  8. Hello Huskerboard, It’s been a long time since I have posted on this site. Anyway, I am good friends with Nathan's dad. From what I know at this time, Nebraska has a very strong shot at Nathan, but he is getting attention from everyone now. They really need to sell the small town feel and facilities, he loved his visit at Clemson because of these things. Additionally, USC, Alabama and LSU are starting to push. I couldn't imagine having to make this kind of decision as a 17/18 year old kid, crazy. It’s been interesting hearing how recruiting works form this angle. On another note, If I was in charge of recruiting at NU I would have someone entrenched in the Inland Empire (Murrieta, Temecula, Corona etc...), this place keeps growing and the talent level is outstanding. GO BIG RED!
  9. I only made my comment because I thought by bitching about it would feel better. Didn't really help.
  10. I am dumfounded at the level of obsession the national media continues to display pertaining to Nebraska’s recruiting challenges. Why do these people care? Regarding the steroid comment, I had friends that played for NU during the early 90’s. Steroids use was probably around 20%-30% (my opinion) at NU, which was probably the same at every D1 college football program. So to make that statement in this article was a complete jackass move.
  11. It really felt like Tom answered these questions straight from the heart. Very cool.
  12. Wait- is Bo going to go back to Mich now?
  13. Ok, I am going to think outside the box here. Read option from the shotgun. I know, I know you are asking yourself how did I ever come up with this? I just go with what I feel.
  14. I know this is a little of topic but- is there a better show then the Venture Bro's? I think not
  15. Amazing what a Watson led offense morphs into when playing teams that have athletes and actually PLAY defense. This is a broken record. As far Taylor is concerned I think it is a MUST that this offseason he 1. Learns to read defenses-had no clue what he was audibling into the majority of the season and couldn't audible pass pro for crap. 2. Learn pass progression and reads-seriously quit locking onto Brandon Kinnie already, the next game is in September Taylor. 3. Get any kind of pocket presence-five seconds is what ya get against a good team if you are lucky, learn it and live it 4, and most IMPORTANTLY do something, anything to show this team you have a pulse, a hint of leadership, and actually care. Do these things and there is a chance you hold off a frosh(true or redshirted) to start. Yes that is a prediction. Your points one through three are due to the combination of Tmart being a freshmen and poor qb coaching for this convoluted offense. Point number four is internet garbage and not worth considering. Where you and others magically think incoming freshmen qbs won't have the same problems is....well.....wishful thinking at best. A healthy Tmart (under a new OC) will start next year and rip the Big10 to shreds. Yes, that is a prediction. Valid arguements. But one, Taylor has been here for TWO years and points one through three should have started to become second nature to any kid wanting to play QB at the college level. He has sat through the meetings, the film studies, and practiced so is there really an excuse for that? Two, yes a part falls onto coaching, but this is the same OC and QB coach that made Joe Ganz damn near a stud his senior year. And at the rate the coaching carosel is moving a new OC might be a pipe dream. Point 4 is pretty accurate. I have had a friend on the team tell me that the SDSU game was no accident. There were many(OLiinemen) that could care less about the well being of Taylor. Something that I have mentioned before. Also another instance that I have ranted on before was Taylor's demeanor the WHOLE CU game. Sat by the heater didn't move, didn't talk to others, could care less what was goin on in the game. Others on this board saw it as well and were just as upset. Also sitting on the bench by yourself after getting tossed like a rag doll, possibly because you failed to recognize the defense, without talking to our OLine, backs or anyone is one hell of a sign of leadership as well wouldn't you agree. This happened a lot this year. And as for the frosh comment. Brion is a redshirt and would be coming into the fall under the same circumstances that Taylor did, and it has been said he is a more pure passer. And Jamal will get winter conditioning, spring ball, and summer workouts in before fall camp, and who knows he may bust his ass and blow the staff away. It has happened before, true freshman can start at the college level contrary to popular belief. I have had a friend on the team tell me that the SDSU game was no accident. There were many(OLiinemen) that could care less about the well being of Taylor. This is jacked up on so many levels. I am not debating you on the truth of the statement but the lunacy of the action. Most of these athletes that compete at this level think that they make rain. Why such a harsh judjment on Taylor did he sleep with there girl friends? Suck it up and block and help the kid grow. Just my opinion

Do these things and there is a chance you hold off a frosh(true or redshirted) to start - Do you think Carnes or Turner will be ready? I was really starting to like what I was seeing from Cody at the end of the year. And that is coming from a guy who last year stated "I don't think Cody will ever start/play QB at NE". Just think how Cody may have progress if everytime he took the field he wasn't given the ball and told "Hey Cody get in there - its the 4th Qtr, we are down by 10, don't screw it up - ready - break".
  17. All great points. Regarding the Taylor fascination – this is just crazy to me. It just seems out of character of Bo to become so enamored with one player. But I do think that Taylor has been unfairly attacked on some of these message boards. I live out here in SoCal and have an associate who is an assistant coach at Corona and he had nothing but good things to say about Taylor. He did say that he was an introverted kid, but stated that he was a fierce competitor. I feel that with some leadership education Taylor can become more positive member of the team and if not I guess he will be on the bench.
  18. So... you're saying we should keep Watson out of curiosity? That's the last reason we should keep a coach whose unit is sputtering this badly. It worked out for Charlie McBride. The guy hung around after the late 80s/early 90s when we were routinely getting trounced, and he masterminded some of the most brilliant defenses I've ever witnessed. But just because McBride did it doesn't mean Watson can, or will. Watson needs to show Bo and the decision-makers that he can get it done. Maybe he has, and maybe we just don't know about it. If he has, and he can, I'm all for keeping the guy. I guess I just keep coming back to Ganz and what was accomplished with him. But that’s really an apples to oranges thing. Different Offence - Different QB So... you're saying we should keep Watson out of curiosity? That's the last reason we should keep a coach whose unit is sputtering this badly. No- I didn't mean it to come off like that. It seems to me we are going to be stuck with Watson for at least one more season. If that is the case I was trying to formulate some positive thoughts. Trust me when I say it was hard to do.

  20. FYI - I am just trying to make myself feel better because I know he will be here next year.
  21. I know this is a loaded question but aren’t any of you slightly interested to see if Watson can right the ship? Listen I am not here to argue on why we should keep him. For god’s sake his play calling alone this year has been horrid. But if he does stay what’s to say he can't improve with a healthy and seasoned Martinez and improving Cody Green. ??
  22. Yep, I was one of those, but after watching Martinez hold the ball and take a sack, basically not being able to pass, not improve on reading defenses. I would of took anybody else at QB. Did martinez ever make a cut, nope just straight line speed, no shifty moves. Looks to me if he has anykind of injury he is useless, just because he cannot throw. Bingo- wilber24 I was at the game watching from a Luxury Box. I couldn’t believe his lack of ability to move laterally. Additionally his pocket presence was horrible. A lot of people on this site have been complaining about our offensive lines performance, which was below average at best. But how many times did he extend the pocket and was unable to slide out of the pressure. Cody Green did a much better job of stepping into the pocket. Now I want to make it clear I am a Martinez fan. I live out in caly very close to Corona were Martinez played his senior year. The crazy thing is how many people I have run into that have ties to Taylor. One of those people was an assistant coach at Corona and he couldn't say enough about the kid. Said he was a hard worker and a raw talent. He also said that he has been prone to injuries and this was before he got hurt. Personally I want to see him improve and lead this team. If not well let the best man step up. EZ I enjoyed your post and find your opinion interesting but believable. FYI All- I have a lot of respect for this board and enjoy reading all of your opinions as crazy as some may be. I am hoping I can find the time to add to the craziness in the future. Best
