  1. You can do the research if you like, I’m certainly not going to. And possibly it would prove you correct and me incorrect, but I’m guessing it wouldn’t. There are a boatload of players coming out of high school right now that step right onto the field ready to go. So many of the high high school programs now are mirrors of the college programs. Kids are ready earlier. Most kids that are somewhat elite, and possibly pro caliber, don’t even make it to their senior year anymore.
  2. In this day and age of college football, where true freshman play at every position, that is not young at all.
  3. That’s true, but if you think back, and look very objectively, I do believe things, silly penalties, technique, etc really are all getting better all the time. It’s taken longer than I thought it would, but it is getting better. Think back just a few short years and remember how ridiculously bad it was under Riley.
  4. I know it goes against how this offense is set up....but until Jurgens gets this issue corrected, why doesn’t he just put the QB under center? i know it changes a lot of things, but it also eliminates a huge glaring problem right out of the gate.
  5. Our snapping problem is easy to fix.....we jut need a taller QB!
  6. Fair point. But also in your situation it was only two series into the game before he turned it around. I think that’s pretty common, especially if a player is pretty excited or amped up for a game, for a player to take a bit to settle in. I think though your point actually adds some context to the situation in how soon some are calling for the backup.
  7. Have you ever played or coached? Serious question. Often when someone is overwhelmed (which many agree is how AM has looked this year) it gives them a chance to calm down, watch and hopefully put the mental side together. Jut by simply slowing things down a bit when the game is moving too fast for someone. Which I think is where AM is right now because he appears to be thinking and not playing instinctively. At least how it appears to me. I cant cite you any examples at the highest levels, but I’ve done in many times in coaching. Did it work every time? Of course not, but it did sometimes. And when it didn’t, it wasn’t any worse.
  8. The point is, when it is not getting better, you at least try something different. I dont give a flying you know what how well he snaps it in practice. Practice stats don’t count. What happens on the field on Saturday is what matters. And right now it’s bad. So maybe the next guy doesn’t block as well, who knows, but if he puts the snap where it’s supposed to be at least the first issue is addressed. This absolute blind faith that a coach can never be wrong is just.....well, wrong. Coaches are human as well and have built in biases just like everyone else. We know ONE thing for certain, and that is the bad snaps are hurting us, and are not getting better.
  9. Except in the end it wasn’t was it? Do you really think he ran the ball the same as AM has been?
  10. Fitting since it might have been the ugliest winning, walk off FG ever!
  11. I’m sure glad Lamar caught it, but what a lame a$$ return. The officials again confirm theur badness p, but in our favor this time.
  12. To start with, maybe call for a different center.
  13. The definition of insanity.......... make a change for Gods sake.
  14. Nice to see our QB attacking the run again. Like AM did last year.
  15. I just caught up. They confirm every week that Big 10 officials are awful
  16. Mo Barry overruns plays so much that cutbacks are always there.
  17. Is there anyone here who even dislikes AM,let alone hates him? Many have just wanted for him to sot a series or two. But we all wasn’t him to be successful.
  18. We should always fair catch it. Typically our return gets to about the 20 and then we also have a block in the back or a hold and start around the 10. Ill gladly take starting on the 25.
  19. Our receivers are getting open enough. Last night the first pick, Wandale is well covered but still has a step on his man. If the ball is in front of him it’s likely a completion. The second pick he open as well but the ball was overthrow.pn. The 3rd pick, I don’t even know who it was being thrown too. When people continuously say they aren’t getting open, what they should be saying is the the guy who AM has predetermined he’s going to throw to isn’t open. Usually someone else is. And very often, the check down guy is open. And when that guy is Wandale or Maurice, that’s a really good option for us. Unfortunately right now, AM is looking a bit like Tommy Armstrong when it comes to his reads. I know the line, and especially the snaps aren’t helping him at all (if he didn’t have to worry about where the snap was going to be maybe he could still be scanning the field), but right now I wish they’d give him one read and then either dump it off or take off and run.
  20. Let’s be real here. A huge chunk of the yardage against Illinois came on two plays. A broken coverage where our receiver had no one near him. All AM had to do there was not airmail it over him. The second was on a swing pass to Mo Washington that he took down the sideline. I love AM and don’t want to dump everything on him, but the fact is he’s off so far this year.
