Agreed. I think he has to be out there. Then why did Blake want the position so much? He was arguably the best recruiter. blake wanted more prestige. Blake was the best recruiter in 05. Busch overtook Blake in 06 and has gotten a lot of great talent to verbal to us.

btw, it would be a big mistake to make Busch the recruiting coordinator. you dont take your best recruiter and put him behind a desk.

nope. that would be admitting failure. he would rather fail miserably deny it and let everone watch then admit failure and try to fix it. i bet we dont see any firings of some of the worst coaches (elmo, busch) on the staff either. right on the money.......unfortunately I don't suppose you have taken the time to actually see the recruits Bush has brought in. You'd really count that first year of QB's? The class that was put together in less than a month? in my initial post i didnt, but then i went back and threw them in.

It worked great against the Troy's, Nichols State's and LA Tech's, but we played 4 top 25 teams this year and averaged less than 2 TDs in those games. That is not great. our offense looked terrified in those games. (oops, the games against the top 25 games.)

This is what stands out the most (to me anyway). Zac Taylor- a JUCO qb, worked out well for us. Harrison Beck- wash out. josh freeman- benedict arnold Patrick Witt- go get em buddy, Zac Lee- injured Juco recruit, wont know how he pans out because he hasnt stepped onto the field yet. Joe Ganz, Jordan Adams, Beau Davis- never see the field as for all the other players, we havent really seen how a lot of the high school guys Callahan have developed because its too early to tell yet, and in all fairness, you shouldnt really judge if a player is a bust or a success if they havent used up all their eligibility. Players can go from six feet under on the depth chart to a starter in a year (Cory Ross is just one example) so who knows what is going to happen.

thats good. Watson is a good coach, and was mostly responsible for the rape of NU by CU in 01. Callahan and watson go back a long time, its a win-win situation.

it isnt that hard to believe is it? in 05 he was our best LB before his injury. This year it seemed like he was a little slow but he improved as the year went on.

perhaps this is just part of the changes that coach callahan promised. perhaps the "great experiment" is coming apart at Nebraska, all i know is that its gonna be a helluva ride.

<---this guy did. Im not an expert, or even an amateur, im just a fanatic, but BJax got quite a few carries as a freshman and i liked what i saw. on a side note, I think Glenn will overtake Lucky. Glenn has treetrunks for legs and just looks like he has fire when he runs. We dont see Glenn's moves because he was mostly utilized in short yardage situations. What sucks for Glenn is that teams picked up on how we utilize our different backs and when Glenn was in the defense would stack the box thinking it was a running play. Towards the latter half of the season we tried to bluff with Glenn in as a pass blocker in the backfield. Glenn has great strength, and with improved technique, will be a great blocker in the backfield. Will he lose his strength if he loses weight? thats what i am wondering. heres to hoping he doesnt.

sorry if my post seems ignorant because i didnt read the entire thread because it seems pretty heated. Moving on, I would not bet on Cosgrove leaving. Not when he is as close to winning something (Conference Championship, BCS Bowl, maybe even the National Championship) than he ever has as long as he has been here. They are trying to build something and to leave it still in scaffolding just doesnt make sense to me. In retrospect, we have seen it before. People are unpredictable.

I agree. If Glenn can balance out his game, add some elusiveness in there, and he will be the starter. Glenn can hold on to the ball and if he works on catching the ball and his pass blocking skills, he will be the starter. but this could apply to all our RBs.

best post ive seen in a long time, im considering putting that in my already obscene signature. edit: i am guilty of complaining and all that jazz too. but im tryin to change that. i also bitched and moaned after the losses. not that its an excuse, but after the losses i was highly emotional. I was spoiled by the 90's. we all were, whether you care to admit it or not. We were the big dog. Present day, we are a nervous and unstable fanbase. Lets face it, NU was,is, and forever will be, the underdog. What NU has done is incredible. NU is a school in a state that has a population less than most urban areas, and somehow, this little school won 5 national titles and produced 3 (and should be many more, haha bias) heisman trophy winners, a boatload of All-Americans, Academic All-Americans, and All-Conference Players. I dont really know where i wanted to go with this little rant. Maybe we have lost perspective of what we are and who we are. or maybe i have lost perspective on what the hell i am writing about lol.
