  1. If you do a sign, stay away from Suh-nami. During the Tech game (which was also ABC), I was standing next to the guys painted with SUHNAMI and they never showed more than SUHN on TV. Also surprisingly, my friend and I were dressed as Bo and Carl and we didn't get on TV, despite the fact they showed SUHN like 5-6 times. It was literally S-U-H-N-A-M-I-Bo-Carl...all in the front row. So, chances are you will not get on TV if you had Suh-nami on your sign (though, yes, it has been 5 years since the tsunami in the Indian Ocean)
  2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Penny_(The_Bi...eory_character) "Originally from Omaha, Nebraska" and "When Penny was a child, she would even build a tractor engine on the farm and compete in a junior rodeo." It's definitely not a writer that is from Nebraska and their writers don't seem to know much about Nebraska. I guess our biggest city is but densely concentrated farms, our tallest buildings are grain silos and we travel by horse drawn carriage.
  3. As I have posted several times, my newphew Mike plays for NU. He says Lee is a lot more athletic than Green and is one of the most athletic guys on the team. I'll take his first hand knowledge over the opinion of eveybody here on this board. How about we move Lee to WR! The ol Kerry Meier move! It's not like our WR play would be hurt.
  4. I would rather have Suh just play defense and not chance an injury playing offense just so he could get some overrated trophy. If we really want him to win it and change what they look for when they hand out the award. He should win it only playing defense. Not a defensive player that also plays some offense (like the only defensive player that has ever won the award).
  5. http://cfn.scout.com/2/909146.html Welcome to the bandwagon CFN, all the permanent seats have been taken for the past 40 years, but we have some fold-able chairs here and a nice campground back there.
  6. Holt was in class for our Sociology of Deviance test today, if that means anything to you guys.
  7. fair enough. I'm curious if the view of most the field is blocked, or just that side? I usually sit in row 2 of section 11. From my seat, about 5 yds from the sideline is blocked by the players. And even then, it is only blocked from about the 35 to the end zone on the north side. From section 23, i would guess about from the 50 to the end zone would have that 5 yd block from the Tech players.
  8. I commented to my brother during the game that it seemed like before every play, Lee checked off to a different play. Well, it was that or he just likes waving his arms around.
  9. If is similar to Mizzou, down about 12 points but our defense obviously playing very solid. You stick with him. But, not because you pray for a big quarter from him, but because he is the starter and he is in their because he is the best we have at QB. The problems aren't all him and it's unfair that many seem to think they are. He has yet to lose a game for us, so I don't see what the deal is. Personally, I think Lee will be the starter against ISU even if he doesn't play well enough for us to win against TTU. Green won't instantly make our line block better and our receivers catch the balls that they should be catching. Now is not the time to consider putting Green in. Try asking this question next week after he has this supposedly bad game you are talking about. EDIT: Yeah...That | | | V
  10. I love Suh just as much as the next person, but I have never felt he was that great at FB. Seemed like he missed the block every time. He was good for one thing, catching a pass out of the backfield. But, you can only use that once really, because any time he would go in now, they would make sure someone is on him. I'm sure I will get grilled for this opinion, oh well.
  11. They were cute girls (a brunette and a blonde) that secretly had a stash of Husker gear. We partied into the depths of the night celebrating the Husker victory. Right, in most cases, it's the laundry that we hate. Most of these guys are just regular college kids with a very time consuming extra-curricular. However, you could also argue that they are probably the biggest supporters of that laundry. It is after all THEIR team. And, I can't remember how clear I made it, but I also got a good number of yes's from just regular fans of Mizzou (ones who some of our fan base would be weary of just because of their allegiances). The point I was hoping to make that even though lots of us see Mizzou as a bad fan base, they have proven to me to be very welcoming.
  12. Well, two weeks ago they had us a #6. Of course, there was the disclaimer that everyone after VTech at #4 "NOTE: We'd like to stop here, but we won't. Take the teams from No. 5 to, roughly, No. 35, throw them in a bag and pick them out, and you'd probably have the right order." Which is really how it was at the time (and still a bit how I feel about what everyone should be ranked).
  13. 11:30 AM means I will be in line at like 9 AM (well, maybe not for this game since it is ISU and I'm in East). I'm don't really care for 11:30 AM kickoffs.
  14. Hate to resurrect this from the depths, but my fans need satisfaction. My hosts were awesome, they came with us to eat dinner then dropped us off at the stadium. Still have all of my organs and no emotional scars.
  15. My experiences were pretty good. I went to the K-State game last year and an Iowa State game like 9 years ago. I would rank Missouri as my least favorite fan base of those three, but really only because KSU and ISU had nothing to brag about. Concerning the MU fans, about 90% of them were nice. The only problems I had were an older lady that yelled "GO BACK TO NEBRASKA!" a few times as loud as she could, a MU fan that yelled "SCOREBOARD!" after I got done celebrating our first TD and a few MU fans yelling "F$%# Nebraska!" at me while I was leaving. Now, pointing these people out may paint a bad picture. There were a lot of MU fans that pointed out some unfavorable ref calls, joked about some of the bad play, chatted in general about football. I had some good laughs with MU fans. I enjoyed my experience, despite the horrendous weather, lack of audio, a few bad fans and tiny impossible to see detail "big" screen.
  16. WRONG! I suppose I said I'm not a bro. But, in my mind, a bro is a frat guy or one who excels in wearing polos with his collar popped. I'm no bro, but I am a dude, bro.
  17. I hope so too, that would certainly make the drive home pretty difficult. Pics or GTFO!! HAH! For the sake of the privacy of my hosts, I will not be posting either their profile or pics from it. Though, maybe I will take some pics when we hang out with them a bit before the game. And a before and after pic of my butt to prove it went unchanged through the night. Update of the original topic, I actually just got a message from the lineman. He was letting me know he will be without internet until after the game, so if I planned to stay with him, I would have to txt him. I will refrain from spamming him with GO BIG RED!!!! messages.
  18. I thought they were more getting at the fact that both the Rams and the Chiefs suck at football.
  19. I would like to clarify to everyone that my actual hosts are two girls, so I most likely won't be getting raped.
  20. HAH! Never seen it, but I have seen South Park and their take on the last Indy film, so I think I'm good. That's about the same response I got from one of my friends who is coming to Boulder with me for the Colorado game. All I can say, many people on this site will fall into the category of "couldn't care less about football". Yea, there are some on there, including me, but I highly doubt anyone on this site has thrown a beer or a urine bomb on a Husker fan.
  21. Yea, I surfed for the first time when I went to Lollapalooza this last August. The people we stayed with gave us keys to their apartment and even let us stay there while they were out of town. Saved me $400. Gonna save me another $50+ tomorrow. It's not for everyone though. Some people just don't like the idea of staying with or hosting (essentially) random people. Also, is it bro rape if I'm not a bro? I'm glad i didn't use the phrase "sleeping with the enemy" in the first post.
  22. So, I am traveling to Columbia tomorrow for the game and as a college student I do my best to save money where ever I can. One thing I like to do when I travel is to CouchSurf. So, yesterday I decided it was about time I sent out requests. While I was sending out a request to basically everyone listed in Columbia, I came across a very interesting profile. One of the Missouri offensive lineman had a profile. So, partially as a joke, I decided to send him a request. Lo and behold, a few hours later I get a response back. "I must say this is an interesting request. Despite you guys being Nebraska fans, it's totally cool if you want to stay at my place after the game. I live with some other linemen. With my situation, I won't be home until after the game anyway so it works out fine. Let me know if this works for you!" Of course, I also received 8 or so more people who would allow me to stay with them. I have actually decided to stay with a different person, but I figured you guys might find this interesting. I was given the opportunity to sleep on the enemy's couch. I hope this provides a little bit different of a perspective for those that aren't too big of a fan of Missouri. BTW, the people I am staying with are MU students and many of the positive responses I received were from MU students. It really makes it hard for me to believe that I have anything to worry about while I'm down there, but we will see.
  23. I just hit up Huskers Authentic and bought me a red Poncho. It will come in useful even if it isn't raining .
