  1. http://www.omaha.com/article/20091017/BIGRED/710179679 I think this article pretty much sums it up. Nebraska is offensively identity-less. And I think there were hints of that all season (except maybe when we beat up on the Sunbelt) and now its rearing its ugly head. Disagree if you want, but our offense is a reason to be concerned because it's a combination of a lot of problems: possibly coaching, play-calling, not the right QB, not enough of a run game, no offensive line, etc.
  2. So you think that Mizzou is worse than ISU? Even with an average offense our D is getting to the point that we should be able to win games. Saying we'll lose to ISU. yes over reacting.... Just like the comments i heard in the student section today, that we were guaranteed to lose to ISU. I'm sorry to have offended you. Perhaps I am overreacting, it's just disappointing to see a talented team have no consistent offense. To go three and out with consistency and to beat ourselves up on offense with stupid penalties, poor execution, etc. I'm sure you're right and we'll roll over these easier teams...
  3. I think you guys are severely overrating. Last week Husker fans were on top of the world thinking that they would roll the North and were the favorites. this week you would swear the team has no talent and will lose out. Nothing is ever as bad as it seems and nothing is ever as good as it seems. I can assure you Neb will not lose to ISU. Maybe I am overreacting, I really hope that's what it is actually! But even with an offense as good as I think we have, we have to get out of three and out situations which have become the norm. Last week, I was happy we got out with a win. Honestly, besides the Sunbelt games, I haven't thought the offense even looked average. Do we really just not have the players? Right now, I am not sure we match up offensively Kansas, Colorado, or even Iowa State. What I'm saying is, the offense doesn't look like it's improving over time.
  4. Unless he shows me an offense that is at least average. Or we lose to ISU, which sadly may actually be a possibility.
  5. Because there is no way a twelve year-old who puts multiple punctuation points at the end of every sentence could have possibly known that an 18 year-old kid from a high school in Texas was going to jump an injured backup, win a backup job, watch a flagging QB fail, and then get a shot to start while all the time everyone in the state of Nebraska up to and including the coaches thought Zac Lee would be the better option. Even a broken clock is right twice a day. It's not a great trick. Now if you have the lotto numbers PM me and I'll come back and formally apologize. Pwned. No seriously.
  6. Yawn. You didn't know sh#t. You made a baseless guess and it worked out for you. The fact that Cody has a great shot at taking over this team doesn't validate you in any respect, and frankly I don't see it as a generally good thing. I wish our recruiting was to the point where we wouldn't have to have a true freshman with strange throwing mechanics starting for us. But that's the hand this team's been dealt. Careful not to pull something stepping off that high horse.
  7. Yeah, very true. But we already lived through Callahan hell. Now don't we deserve a little salvation? Big difference in today's effort and the Cally teams. Today, we caught some bad breaks, missed a few opportunities, and that was the game. During the Cally years, we got used and abused routinely. That's a far cry from what happened out there today. Maybe, and I hope you're right. But we have looked pretty used and abused on offense in every non-sunbelt game this season. We didn't just miss a few opportunities in these games, we could rarely do anything but three and out. If anything, bad plays on offense are the norm and succesful completions are an amazing and impressive rarity. Anyway, all I was saying is that A & M may be struggling, but Nebraska has been there and done that too.
  8. The ENTIRE COACHING STAFF needs to be fired today! BO is a great defensive co-ordinator but is not HEAD COACH material. They need to recruit players who know how to play football, not a bunch of losers they have now. There is nobody worth a crap on that team except for maybe Suh. But I don't care anymore anyway, I am pulling for Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, So Cal and good teams like that. Gonna buy sweatshirts of ALL those teams and wear them proudly and take my Husker gear to Goodwill where it belongs... Sounds like a personal problem....
  9. Yeah, very true. But we already lived through Callahan hell. Now don't we deserve a little salvation?
  10. BTW - wonder what other positions Bo's thinking about changing....
  11. Very insightful! As much as the loss hurts, it might be the best medicine for getting this offense pulled back together. Pelini hates to lose, so I bet that some major changes do happen and that they lead us back in the right direction. I'll never give up on the Huskers, even though sometimes they like to make me try
  12. I think some Husker fans, myself included, started believing that this could be the year Nebraska starts to shine again. I mean the VT game was in our grasp, then we beat Missouri....it seemed like we really were turning around. Obviously, there were offensive problems, but I thought we were learning as we went and would play much improved this week. I was wrong. I think that's why it seems like meeting our "realistic goals" is disappointing. GBR.
  13. Thank the Football gods that KU finally lost!!!!!
  14. Well, I know what to pray for tomorrow morning. Not to be the killjoy, but the problem might be that we just don't have the O line to run that kind of offense. Not to but the O line is no bueno.
  15. x2. How often did we throw it to the flats (and THAT really backfired in the first quarter)??? That seems like the go-to play once or twice every five plays. I mean, I'm calling it on the couch so I have an inkling that the defense may be calling it too....
  16. My question is whether Watson is going away from the run because he doesn't think the O line is good enough to open holes? They haven't done it consistently this season, but they have consistently received a multitude of false starts.
  17. Don't you look like a fool now. Lee is P-I-T-I-F-U-L. And take it from me, a person who only watches when the Huskers play real teams and not little sisters of the poor. LOL I've seen them all and I believe you.
  18. And suddenly, Kansas is right back in the game This teams keeps pulling out the "W," but holy crap they look so bad doing it. I really *can't believe I'm saying this* hope the Buffs can hand them an "L."
  19. So, in your opinion, should Lee be cast aside for his poor performance and throw our hope onto the "green" Green?
  20. So besides that, what has he done against decent teams? I'll tell you. 10-11 quarters of not a single touchdown. I have to admit, I'm drawn more to Green. But, on the other hand, has Lee had much help on the offensive side of the ball in those 10-11 quarters? Dropped balls, missed blocks, and stupid penalties can't all fall on this guy's shoulders.
  21. Kansas = Worst undefeated team in the country. Hope Colorado (can't believe I'm actually rooting for them) pulls it out.
  22. I miss the 90s....could that work again? It seems like nobody runs the option anymore... Is it wrong that I want Green to get the start just to bring back the 90s?
  23. Well said. Lee seems like a very passionate player, and passion can pull out some wins...just not against the tougher opponents. At this point, I think you go back to the run game and use Green's legs to help accomplish this. It will hopefully give the defense more time to rest and really show the nation how good they are.
