Most of the guys that left weren't big on actual debate. But that's neither here nor there, as soon it will be the offseason. We can't lose games in the offseason, the fans will die down a bit, recruiting and practices will get our hopes up, and then we start over at 0-0 I told Matty the same thing. But that doesn't change the fact there is a distinct toxcicity around here. I'm sure some don't think it's a big deal, lets hope it's not. Sorry, I may be like Matty and I'm 20 or so in, but what is the toxicity you speak of, is it the sorry state of the program, or that some of us aren't happy about it?

They've had a very good season, but I have a hard time wishing good luck to any team I don't root for, no disrespect intended.

Serious question. Not being a smart ass. Why do they deserve a bowl game? Because they've been here 4 years? Because why? I hate to be hard on them but they haven't earned and don't deserve anything. A lot of that is on the coaches but a lot of it is on unmotivated play of the players. Sorry but I don't want to see this edition of the Huskers on the field again. We need to concentrate on getting a better version on the field next year. Much better. So many people on HB laughed and scoffed when, in seasons past, a 5-7 team made it to a bowl game. Some were pissed. Now that WE are the 5-7 team, it's a great idea to go to a bowl game. My vote is no. We didn't earn it. Everyone needs to get past whether it is earned or not, what really matters is what is best for the team to make 2016 better. Reality is that going to a bowl game allows the team 15 additional practices, which is the same a Spring Ball. That is huge, so get over the other aspects and get on board for a 5-7 team going to a bowl game.I'd say that the less time this staff has to poison the players, the better.I'd say and have been saying for months, the less time you spend posting the better off the world is. We just went head-to-head with the number 3 team in the country. Three weeks ago we beat a top ten team. What the hell do you want? Us to actually win the games we should statistically win. BYU: Led the game 28-27 with :03 left. Lost on a Hail Mary. Miami: Rallied in the 4th quarter to force OT. Throw an INT on the first play of OT, with a bonus unsportsmanlike penalty to essentially give Miami the win. Illinois: Led 13-7 with :55 left. No timeouts for Illinois and Tommy is given the option to pass, which he so happily complies with, throwing an incomplete pass to an albeit open Devine Ozigbo. Given the sieve the secondary was at that point, Nebraska was bound to give up the big pass play, and they did, and lost 14-13. Wisconsin: Led 21-20 after Wisconsin missed a FG with 1:30 left. Wisconsin has all 3 timeouts, and Nebraska runs 3 uncreative totally predictable plays up the middle, running a total of :25 off the clock. Given the sieve the secondary was at that point, Nebraska was bound to give up enough plays to put Wisconsin back into field goal range, which they did. Wisconsin hits a FG and wins 23-21 Northwestern: Held the ball for almost 18 more minutes (note: football's a 60 minute game), ran 30 more plays than Northwestern who was playing a true freshman QB and had just gotten beaten senseless by Michigan and Iowa. Lose 30-28. Purdue: Going up against the worst run defense in the Big Ten with a backup QB, Nebraska throws the ball an astounding, mind-boggling 55 times in a 55-45 loss, which required a 4th quarter rally after being down 42-16. Iowa: Nebraska ran 39 more plays against the Hawkeyes today and held the ball for 13 more minutes (note: football's a 60 minute game). In a windy day, Nebraska scored just 3 points when going against the win and held Iowa, a team who had excelled on 3rd down ALL SEASON LONG to 0/8 on 3rd down. But no, 4 interceptions from Tommy Armstrong quelled any chance of another Nebraska upset. Yahtzee, common denominator = TA.... Ummm TA didn't play DB against BYU. The common denominator is the coaching staff. This program has won more than they had lost with him at QB the previous 2 seasons.

Yes. Ferentz is a compentent coach. As I recall he has some less than stellar seasons as well... His M.O. seems to be suck for a few years and then have a good year and then back to sucking True. But he is at Iowa, and took over when they were atrocious. And at least Ferentz has tied for a couple of conference championships and now has won a division with an undefeated season. He isn't the all out suck that we will be stuck with for another year or two.

I will need your decision in the morning as Tom Herman is waiting to see if he needs to resign form Houston or not.No offense but Herman is going to pretty much have his pick of the lot as far as vacancies are concerned. I doubt Nebraska would be his choice. He'll likely have teams like Georgia and FSU vying for his services. Sad. We couldve gotten a real coach. It's just one game, just one season.
