    Tis the season!  Nebraska Soccer started their season tonight @ Kansas.  Speaking of which, for you hardcore Hockey fans,  just an FYI.  'The Great One' Wayne Gretzky's niece, Mila Gretzky (her dad Brent Gretzky briefly played in the NHL) is a Freshman on the Nebraska Soccer team.

    I honestly thought Newby was UCLA bound. Especially with all the offensive line recruiting they have done. Our coaches worked their ass of for this kid. I honestly think Coach Brown was the selling point. Being a RB in college, he is the guy to learn from. GBR!!!

    Look at Luke Kuechly 2011 stats to Te'o 2012 stats and tell me which one should have been nominated for Heisman. Te'o only got national fame because of the death of his grandma and g/f....sorry but true.

      The Heisman is more than stats-driven though. Otherwise Mark Ingram shouldn't have won, since Toby Gerhart had better stats. If there's a "Hollywood story" behind a player, that helps too. It is what it is.

    Did anybody else catch Joey Harrington before our game say that Russell Wilson was the best QB in the nation last year? Really? So he's better than RG3 and Luck? Okay then, you're ruhtarded.

      Well he's not completely wrong, statistically speaking. Wilson was #1 in pass efficiency with 191.78 rating. Griffin was #2 with Luck coming in 5th.

    As much as the Big 10 needed Wiscy to win..... I had to feel good for the Penn State players who DID NOTHING WRONG and stuck with the program because of their devotion to a school. Congrats to those guys !

      @akita, I've already stated my case to ZRod, but another thing I'd like to add to the argument is that if we've learned anything about playing in the B1G in our 2 short years, it's that no game is a gimme. The Indianas and Purdues of the world have beaten Ohio State in the last 5 years. A mediocre Northwestern came into Lincoln with a win a year ago, and almost got another one this year. Those teams are full of 2-3 star talent and walk-ons.

      @ZRod, It'll be a rough go in the beginning, but I wouldn't underestimate them. Year one is enough evidence to convince me that O'Brien can coach these guys up enough to make them competitive. He'll have to get the walk-on program humming, and settle for 2-3 star players that want to play for pride instead of conference championships and bowl games. So far he's managed to keep a 5* QB in the fold this late in the recruiting game. We'll see come February.
