  1. Idk, definitely a trust issue between the players and admin at a minimum. Next coach better be good with managing/creating a postive culture And sorry, but I had to add this:
  2. I concur...Throw in M. Roses mom's tweets about Tressel being the next HC...etc...too much smoke to not mean something...Tressel has a role in all of this. I must of missed something. Did she delete the tweet? ...... Interesting ! yeah twitter or instagram...came out shortly after the firing I believe. Can't find it... Anyone have a link? Maybe 'shop a screenshot or two would be just as good?!? ("Web mockups" would be the professional term, i believe)...
  3. Actually, a number of medical schools have modifyied the life cycle stages so that pre-adult/adolescent stage (depending on the life cycle model used) go all the way up to 24-25 years old. Traditionally these stages ended at ~18. From medical science perspective, they are now being looked at as adults physically, kids emotionally/developmentally...
  4. That's what's so amazing to me. Takes some serious nutz to take these jabs at the AD. I understand they are angry but I do not recall seeing players single out admins like this. Something's not right, hoping Suh's tweet doesn't prove to be right (re: leadership issues all the way past SE)...
  5. I would have preferred he met with the team first but that is just not realistic. Last game of season last week, players had a few days off, no way it doesn't get leaked & create an even worst mess if SE waits. Sometimes the right decision by management is the one that is the LEAST bad. From that angle, SE did what was right. Decision was made so pull off the bandaid, deal with the pain, & move forward. It all hinges on the hire tho, he doesn't get that right & he did everything wrong. Hire the right guy coach (for Moraine...), SE gets free hookers & blow for life... And lest I forget, IBTL meatsicle
  6. Count's right, just hits a raw nerve is all... Still working through "Anger" on BP and had abondoned BC while in "Denial" stage, lol :-) As far as the fearful question... This is an anonymous message board so by default we all choose "Invisibility", yes? Classic quote tho...
  7. Seriously, you had f'in take it there?!?!? sunuvab.... Count is probably right, but that's just mean & hateful....
  8. Lawyers dodge... What if SE texted or emailed from his personal aol/hotmail/prodigy account? 7 years with Bo and Sam never learned how to deal with a hostile interviewee... Why call when you're face to face? You're right! SE & JT were hanging out Saturday. JT probably wrote SE's statement for him as a show of "good faith"... :-)
  9. What is the cargo capacity of said plane? Are we sure it's not illegal drug or human trafficking??
  10. Lawyers dodge... What if SE texted or emailed from his personal aol/hotmail/prodigy account? 7 years with Bo and Sam never learned how to deal with a hostile interviewee...
  11. If I think about it, makes total sense. TO has the booster's ears, is well respected, can galvanize support from the $$ folks, and SE just fired TO's hire. If SE wants to own this decision, TO is the one guy to keep in the loop. By doing so, TO will feel the dept. is in goods hands and will be the voice of reason with the boosters. Management 101, imo. I say all this as someone who competely agrees with OP. I have NO confidence SE will get this right and I think we are screwed. Unfortunately, I think SE is handling TO very adeptly - keep TO more involved than others but keep most critical info to himself (SE). Except, Osborne has made two pretty bad choices for HC in the past, that doesn't speak well for any choice Osborne may make in the future. Osborne is no longer employed by the university in any fashion so why should he get ANY say in what the University does or doesn't do? Shawn Eichorst already owns the decision to fire Pelini and he will own the decision when he hires a new coach. If we can't trust our AD with hiring decisions then why is he on the University's payroll? Another huge part of the AD's job is dealing boosters. How about we let him do his job w/o putting undo constraints on that job? You know, like having a former employee determine who we hire now. Someday Osborne will no longer be with us, what then? Will you be calling for his return from the grave every time a decision needs to be made in the athletic department? Osborne is retired, how about we let him stay retired and stop living in the past? You really need to re-read my post. Big difference between being involved in the search process vs. making the decision. I do NOT think TO is making the decision or even has input on the actual coach. I highly doubt SE has discussed specific candidates with TO. SE reaching out to TO is a way to have TO "involved" without risking TO interfering. TO's primary function is likely running interference with the booster's that matter. If SE is politically astute, that is a great use of TO. SE reaching out to TO at worst neutralizes TO interfering, at best gets TO voicing his support for the process to the boosters that matter. Neither one is a bad outcome. If SE did NOT reach out to TO, I think the process would go poorly. Like it or not, TO carries a lot of weight with the big boosters and his opinion counts. SE taking advantage of that is simply good leadership. EDIT: Not an SE, fan but you got me acting like he's the juice... If he gets this hire right, I'll be in SE's corner... sigh...
  12. I have to ask, why in the world does Tom Osborne need to assist in a coaching search of any kind? This is the Athletic Directors job. So you'd take Eichorst at his word, when TO's probably forgotten more about football than SE can remember... Part of Eichorst's job as AD is the hiring, evaluation and firing of coaches. Name one other University other than Nebraska where former coaches help with coaching searches. And let's not forget that Tom Osborne picked both No Pelini and Frank Solich as head coaches. We can see how well both of those choices worked out. So again, why does TO need to help with a coaching search? If I think about it, makes total sense. TO has the booster's ears, is well respected, can galvanize support from the $$ folks, and SE just fired TO's hire. If SE wants to own this decision, TO is the one guy to keep in the loop. By doing so, TO will feel the dept. is in goods hands and will be the voice of reason with the boosters. Management 101, imo. I say all this as someone who competely agrees with OP. 13. I'm sure it's a technology issue. These recording devices are heavy and hard to hide. Until then, just have to rely on hearsay...
  14. I remember Mary Pat with the FUSP gloves at one of the games (after BP was gone from NU). I don't see why it would be different this time around. If it happens again, it justifies SE's handling of it... Wait & see
  15. Whatcha expect for a guy from "Wood" River... ;-)
  16. Love Frost. And just like any other one of our guys, I would forgive him for a lot of stupid stuff he could do. Especially as a young adult. But "such a good guy" isn't what I would use if I'm going based off of what he did to LP back in the nineties. Not many people could do something so low. There may have been more stuff linked with Frost, but that is the only one I know of that is for sure true. If I remember right, she was in the process of trying to break up with LP. She started breaking it off with LP a couple months after Frost and her started hooking up... The incident where LP broke in Frost's apartment and drug her down the stairs was after she tried breaking up with LP
  17. Hooking up with a chick that isn't single...that has NEVER happened before or since then at UNL haha But of your teammate who, due to position, is one of your closest? Not saying he's a horrible sinnner. Just saying, knowing that and how the team supposedly hated him at first, "such a good guy" isn't what came to mind first. Mind you, I want Frost as our HC. By his own admission, Dr Tom had instructed Frost to stear-clear of other players girlfriends several times before the incident. This wasn't the first time Frost was banging a teammate's girlfriend but definitely the most known
  18. That my my thought as well. Didn't Pelini pull some shady crap with players/recruits on his way out after 2003? Hope I'm remembering wrong...
  19. I think Frost is off by virtue of inexperience. I really don't want Tressel & the inevitable "show cause"/win at any cost/cheating narrative that would ensue...
  20. Frost is OC at a program where the previous OC was promoted to HC & Frost moved from WR coach to OC. Frost is using the previous OC's staff, players, play book, etc. Frost may be an up & coming coach but he was passed over for some HC slots after last season at mid-major schols for good reason. He has NEVER put together a D1 staff anywhere and that is a big, big issue. Frost is slightly more than a youngish position coach RIGHT NOW. I think Frost has a huge learning curve to to be an HC candidate. Hiring him does not get us on the path of winning games that matter anytime soon. Let's get someone that is proven; Frost is young enough we could get him down the road IF HC at DONU is his dream job...
  21. I know most everyone seems to WANT Pelini gone. I think a more interesting poll would be whether SE actually WILL get rid of Bo. That's the only division left in the fan base, imo...
  22. This is spot on. All the season ticket holders I know want Bo gone but aren't going to give up their season tickets to make it happen. The only indication that makes me think Bo is gone is his behavior after the past 2 losses. It's so out of character it's hard to explain. And agreed Cowherd is a flavor of the minute talking head.
  23. Have to echo E89's comments. The 9 wins under TO was huge because it was the "low bar" symptom of competing for championships.... It was never the goal & most players at the time said things like a 9 win season meant a lot of goals weren't met. Different mentality than today. Something that seems underrated about TO's teams was just how bad (even in losses) NU beat on other team. Through the 80s-90s, opposing coaches & announcers talked about how playing NU made the next 1-2 games so hard since the other team could not recover physically. The overt physicality is what I miss most. Minny, wisky, even MSU prove that physicality will win more games than scheme...
  24. I think you hit on the head. Bo/Beck seem to deconstruct every aspect to the point of causing over-thinking. Perfect technique/play/series/game is great goal. Does perfect technique in every aspect grade out higher than putting the D player on his a**? At some point, doing "good enough" at instant reaction speed will get it done...
