Will Henry, a 6-foot-6, 195-pound wide receiver from El Paso, Texas, on Sunday gave his verbal commitment to accept Nebraska’s scholarship offer.
You might notice a trend here in regard to the Huskers’ recent wideout recruits.
They’d probably make a decent basketball team, if it could find a point guard.
Maurice Purify is 6-4, 210; Menelik Holt 6-4, 210; and Tyrell Spain 6-3, 190.
Playing for J.M. Hanks High in El Paso, Henry this season hauled in 56 receptions for 927 yards and 12 touchdowns. According to Scout.com and Rivals.com, he turned down scholarship offers from Texas Tech, Texas-El Paso and New Mexico State.
Rivals.com ranks Henry as a two-star player (out of five possible), while Scout.com gives him one star.
Nebraska’s wide receiver position received a significant boost this past season from Nate Swift (45 receptions for 641 yards), Terrence Nunn (43-495), Grant Mulkey (26-271) and Frantz Hardy (25-349).
It appears those players will be pushed by some tall and fast incoming recruits.
Of course, competition in practice is ALWAYS a good thing
