I think we will know a lot after the first few possessions of this game. I can see the game going one of two ways. If Texas comes out and looks dominant, I think they win easily. If the huskers are able to come out and battle on defense and show the ability to move the ball on offense, I think the game will be kept close and Nebraska will come out on top. I am hoping for the later. In any event, hopefully you guys will give them a better game than we gave OU the last two years. Call me nuts, but i think texas comin out and gettin a 2 score lead could be the best thing for us. Our guys are very persistant and they dont ever quit, if texas gets a quick lead, they could just turn the switch off expecting to cruise, and when a team sticks with it, it's hard to turn that switch back on in the middle of the game.

I look for this weeks practices to be a bit lighter. Get the legs rested, focus a bit more on the mental aspects of x's and o's. I imagine they've been workin plenty hard leading up to the Colorado game, knowin they would have 8 days to prepare for Texas. Get players rested up a bit, get them ready mentally to play their best game ever.

How many of those players leave early to enter the NFL cuz theyre so talented. How many leave the program for another because theyre good enuff to start anywhere else but not texas. The playcalling has been semiagressive in the first half of the past few games, but once a 2 possession lead is reached, Wats turns to the "dont f#*k it up page". Then the grind out comes, now with that, by the 4th quarter, the D starts to get tired and the runs start to get a little longer. If we ran the ball in the 1st qtr at the regularity as we do in the 4th with a lead when we've been runnin for a half now, it would just be 3'n'out after 3'n'out. The play-boots and passes early in the down series early in the game have been enough against fresh legs to get the points we need. I think you'll see us play it similar in this game.

Talk about mirroring Bama, I think we're already seein it with a dominant defense and a manageble offense that runs well and does enuff. It's SECball and Bo has brought it to the Big 12. It works, 3 straight National titles now and 4 in the last 7 years for the Conference.

Those three losses were completely due to abismal talent deficienceies against a Possible National Championship contender, a Contender, and a National Champion period. Not to mention the two losses to Oklahoma were when a Stoops Defense was actually a Stoops defense.

Awesome point. Too much time thinking. Just like our quarterbacks, things are still just a little too fast for them, so when they think, BAM, theyre out of positioning. Unlike our quarterbacks, the lack of consistent playing time is causing a longer push out of this problem.

Tebow is a class act and a true "Football" player. A great player and person and leader. On to the media side tho. Ive never seen someone put on a pedestal as much as him. This whole 2 national title thing has got me boogerd. Saying he's won two is like saying Brook Berringer (god bless him) has won 2. He's just a little overhyped in my opinion. Now his future in the NFL is what i look forward to. With his size and intensity and personality, I think it's interesting to see if he revolutionizes the QB position in the NFL as some think he can.

Considering the style of offenses we've played this year, these have not seen game speed experience as much as they would need to gain valuable experience. With the Back talent of Gomes, Dennard, Asante, West, O'Hanlon, and Amukamara, it's easy to just put the D in nickel or dime and let Dillard play the anchor and roam. Colorado and Kansas St. were pretty much the 1st two "conventional" offenses we've seen since Virginia Tech. Now if one would take the time to do the research, I think you would discover that our defense has been in Nickel or Dime more than a std. 4-3 with Fisher and Compton on the field. Is there performance disappointing, maybe, but they are Freshman gettin minimal playing time. Now against Texas next week, the defensive scheming will be similar to that of the Oklahoma and Texas Tech games, because of the type of offense Texas runs. JMO, comment as you will.

Hasnt watiching this game made anyone so much more happier to have a defense again. This game was just retarded. NO ONE PLAYS DEFENSE ANYMORE, and it's even more noticeable to me now that we're winnin games 10-3 and 17-3. All that offense and 39 points and it still wasnt enough for Kansas, and Mizzouri needed a full 60 seconds and all 41 points to be enough. WHAT A JOKE.

As it turns out 4 weeks later, the Oklahoma game is probably not an upset. Right now Nebraska's a better team. I thought the team yesterday started out lights out, but i saw a complete change in focus and demeanor once the lead hit 14-0, then the fatique took hold, so no, it was not our best effort. We'll be fine against Texas. May not win, but damn it people, we're not gonna get run out of the building, and no McCoy is not gonna light it up with, Texas might, JUST MIGHT, score 20 if Shipley gets a return. But i also think Texas's off. is too good to make the mistake or two allowing our offense to get the 10 or 14 points we're gonna need. It's gonna be interesting tho.

Yep, so the stage is set for McCoy to sinch it up with a good performance against one of the nation's best defenses. Is everyone ready for Musberger's lobbying, i'm already sick thinking of it.

Yeah, last Saturday, the Board of Regents made an official announcement that they would support any Buyout of a contract, so that to me made it reall obvoius he was gonna be gone, but evidently the athletic dept. has other plans.

Yeah, let's just be honest 1/4 (we score 7 of our 28 points today on special teams) But really it's more like Offense 5/10 (theyre responsible for the points scored, at least i thought that before this year) Defense 4.5/10 (just as important as off. but not asked to score, at least before this year) Special teams, .5/10. Is that an accurate assessment. Seriously, if it's that important, why arent the starters on the kickoff team and so on?
