It affected the players this year after the Mizzou win, and they showed flat and unprepared for Texas Tech. with that bein said, it's the coaches job to keep the players from listenin to that stuff. In fact, that game, the 93 Oklahoma game, the 94 colorado tunnel walk moment, and 2001 notre dame opening minutes are the loudest I've heard the ole lady, and this years Oklahoma game ranks right up there, it was comparin to Arrowhead when it gets to thumpin good, when you can't hear the guy next to you yellin in your ear, it's loud. Mind you, I make this statement having not attended the 1992 Colorado game, (that may have even been a game where the crowd was penalized) , and I hear that was probably the loudest in a long while.

I recall a game in the mid-90s before the new press box where the stadium was so loud the fans got flagged a couple of times. Can't remember who the whiny potzers were that we played, but I clearly remember their QB backing away from center and looking at the Ref like, "I can't hear!" The official told the crowd to quiet down, and when we didn't, they gave Nebraska a five-yard procedure penalty. Waaah!! Wasn't it the 94' CU game? 1991 Oklahoma, freezing drizzle game. I was there, as well as 94 colorado, do not recall that situation in 1994. I do remember in 91, Cale Gundy, pinned inside the five, not able to here backed away from center and approached an official. They stopped the proceedings, then rehuddled and re-started the play clock. The crowd did get louder after that and there were protocalls at the time for that situation. 1 stoppage, (was used) then a warning over the p.a., then timeouts would be charged to the home team, once timeouts were exhausted, a 5 yard penalty would be assessed. But i dont remember any penalty. Osborne did address the crowd thru the ref's audio in that game for someone hittin gundy with an orange tho. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i belive these rulse do not exist anymore, with the advanced hand signals and silent shotgun counts and such. that 91 game was loud tho.

especially because they got rock by oregon who got rocked a week later by stanford, a good team, but still. The one thing they have going for them is beating the Big 10 Rose Bowl team. But mostly, it's the name, and the voters "knowing" that USC has all of that talent, so they *must* be better than their record. Don't forget, this isn't just media bias, the coaches' poll has them a spot higher than the AP poll. it also helps when you start out high, they are reluctant to drop you. but if you claw your way up and lose, you drop like a rock. simple USC but i love the face that theyre losin like they, love them 5 star recruits all over the field that cant get the job done cuz they think they can turn it on and off when they want.

Yeah, i just threw that court thing in there to reiterate what I feel about May. My main point is Mark May as a whole. There's just something i dont like about him.

I thought it was a kinda conservative gameplan defensively, and with Reesings scrambling ability combined with a good arm, they were probably a bit shy on putting db's one on one in that situation.

Talk about a confidence/swagger step. When the defense forfeited the lead, the offense took it right back. and then to show it was not a fluke due to the facemask penalty, they got ii back with what, 5 minutes, and crushed KU and slammed the door and finished the game.

I hear ya. but to see the jubilation on the sideline and compassion of offensive coaches and players over how they played, i believe you will see the offense now develope a confidence/swagger as the defense has now that they have an identity to lean on, and that makes nebraska without a doubt a dangerous team right now.

What i meant by worse was not from coaches, i meant accountability and a total breakdown of officiating crew's overgrown egos. They are more and more trying to be involved in the outcome of games and is BS.
