  1. Ok fine... You're lucky to have even played on the same field as Texas. The only reason you were that close is because Texas shot themselves in the foot. Your offense sucks and your defense is overrated. There, feel better now? Grow a pair...
  2. If Suh isn't the #1 pick, the NFL needs to disband. Congrats Huskers on a well-fought game. Your defense was phenominal
  3. I appreciate the grats. Don't think for a second that I don't know how lucky we are to have won. Good luck in your bowl.
  4. OK...there has never been a comment on Huskerboard that I felt I had to respond to more than that one...so... and and and and and and and and and Well, to be fair, I was posting from the perspective in the stands. After seeing the review, the ball clearly hit the railing out of bounds with 1 second left on the clock. The correct call was made. However, if I as in y'all's position, I wouldn't be to happy about how it all went down either. But, as the poster above said, NU shouldn't have put themselves in the position to let a FG decide the outcome. Kick the ball inbounds, don't horsecollar Shipley, and we may be having a very different conversation.
  5. OK, ur a Texas fan. Say what you want about the game. But will you at least admit that that pass interference call (on the out of bounds throw on a 3rd down, when Texas was out of field goal range), which ultimately gave you guys a field goal & a 13-12 win, was complete bulls&it? spankytoes, you don't have to admit that, bad calls are made it's part of the game. i mean, there was that one kickoff that was downed on the one, looked like the guy might have fumbled the ball on the one, who knows, just the nature of the game. in a one point game, it is anyone's game. i think UT is the better team, but by just one point. we played great, very close to our best, but that is not always enough. both teams should be proud. i appreciate your thoughts. I think that there were bad calls on BOTH sides of the ball. Unfortunately, the questionable calls in the last minute are what will stick in people's minds the most. As you stated, Marquis did not have full possession of the ball when his knee went down on the 1. There was an uncalled hold on one of the NU receivers on your second FG drive. Take away the latter and NU has a 4th and 7 and are in a punting situation. Then the last FG wouldn't have been necessary. (Albeit, I doubt that they would have kicked their final FG if this was he case) It's unfortunate as a fan because you don't want to win that way. Up until the end I was prepared to say how both teams beat the hell out of each other for 60 minutes and what a classic defensive game we saw. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy (thankful) for the win. But both teams deserve better than playing the "what if" game. Now my heartbeat has finally gotten back to normal. All I can do is sweat until they make an official announcement that we will play Bama and hope that the voters won't revolt.
  6. Just got home from the game. Before I say anything else, I want to say that the media is REALLY insulting both of our teams. Mack Brown said it best: If this were an SEC game they would be slobbing over how good a defensive showing we saw. (paraphrased) Having said that... Wow. I really underestimated the amount of no-quit attitude that NU showed. Let me be the first (more like 1,000,000th) to say that Suh is a man among boys. I have NEVER seen someone take control of a defense like he did. I am thanking my lucky stars that he is graduating and hope that he goes #1. If he doesn't...the Browns are utter idiots. Even my son started chanting "Suuuuuhhhhhhhhh" until I had to shush him The game itself was awful. So many penalties and missed opportunities on both sides of the ball. There is no way to sugar coat it...your offense was terrible. But, your RBs powered their way on every run to pick up that extra yard on every play. If Lee can learn to throw, y'all will have some weapons next year. Now, the end... I was sitting next to 4 NU guys and we had a lot of friendly banter. It was funny. We would compliment each other during the game and in mid-sentence yell "Hell yeah! Knock that sumabitch down!" and then complete the thought. I know that this won't be popular, but there should have been 2 seconds left on the clock. I HATE the fact that the ending was so controversial. Both teams had their hearts broken at one point. I'll say this, everyone got their $ worth. Except for a drunken fool, who ended up falling down the stairs and taken out on a stretcher, your fans were pure class. I still scratch my head on why your kicker kicked the ball out of bounds... So congrats on an outstanding showing Huskers. I know that losing puts a damper on things, but you have NOTHING to be ashamed about. Like Apollo Creed once said to Rocky "Ain't gonna be no rematch." Hats off to you and beat the hell out of your next opponent! Much respect.
  7. You may want to stay away from Sportscenter tomorrow at, Oh, 11:00 PM or so
  8. I heard the same thing on ESPNAUSTIN.com this morning. The reporter couldn't give the name of the "significant" offensive player and wasn't sure if it would be announced today or at game time. It will hurt, but we are very deep at WR. It always sucks to lose one of your best players especially with so much riding on the game. I can tell you this, if he can play, he will. Jordan Shipley is a MAN! I hope if he is hurt, he gets healthy for the bowl season. He helped get us here, he deserves to be part of the end of this great run. ~v~ Well, he is closer to 40 than anyone on the team...
  9. Brent Musburger Drinking Game: Texas vs. Nebraska Edition If Brent says the word "Roommate" drink a beer If Brent says the phrase "down there/down that way" take a shot If Brent says the word "Daddy" take a shot If Brent mentions "Tuscola, Texas" take a shot If Brent mentions that Colt McCoy will have 45 wins this game, or any reference to "Colt .45", take 2 shots If you made it to halftime, and have not passed out, you sir a true American Hero.
  10. Or maybe the Lord is shedding some winter tears for what His Longhorns are going to do to you.
  11. I'm trying to give as much credit as I can, but it's hard NOT to see Texas winning and winning big. Your D is stout, but your O is terrible. If we have a 2 TD lead, I don't see NU recovering from that. Colt needs more Heisman numbers which can mean he is forcing things or "Uh oh...lookout". Good luck Hey spankytoes . . . I can see where you are coming from. Your team is undefeated. Our team has 3 losses. I don't think a lot of Nebraska fans EXPECT to win . . . but there would be very few of us who would be SHOCKED if we won. Our defense is nails. That can win games that people wouldn't expect. At least promise me one thing . . . if Texas loses Saturday night come back and admit you were wrong. We'll be here win or lose. Deal. Gracious in victory and defeat. I will be surrounded by your fans at the game so I hope it's a good time. But, I can't resist...

Good luck Texas is the definition of a paper tiger sir. Texas struggles more than a MNC contender should and honestly even if Texas does beat the Nebraska Cornhuskers Texas will likely get rolled by Alabama in the MNC game. I'll give you ou, but where exactly is Texas struggling? We beat every other team by double digits. Did Bama need a blocked FG to survive Tennessee? Did Florida need a phantom call to hold off Arkansas? If you are going to make a bold statement, back it up with facts...or at least apply the criteria equally.

  14. Tickets to San Diego are dirt cheap right now. I wouldn't recommend waiting until after Saturday
  15. You won't have to worry about an opponent. If you win on Saturday, I will personally go Elin on the team's bus
  16. "My name is 'Suh! How do you do? Now you gonna die"
  17. get a plastic bottle, fill it halfway with liquor and squash the bottle as flat as it will go without the liquor coming out the top, screw on the lid and you shuold be able to get it by security/metal detectors. Plastic flask + liquor + sock/shoe = win Do this every Cowboys game
  18. Well then obviously ESPN set up the officials for the game since they don't like us either... I am not just lumping us in here. Take a look at the sports landscape. There are billions of dollars to be made gambling. Look at the well publicized SEC officiating crew that was suspended. There were several instances this year of blatant calls being missed or even not being overturned even with video evidence. Another instance comes to mind of the two phantom hold calls in the ND vs UCONN game that called back two consecutive UCONN TD's making them settle for a FG. It was so bad it was even pointed out on highlights. I am sure there are several officiating crews out there in all sports that are using their position to make more money, we are a greed driven society and you cant tell me all officials are angels. Also, you will never see a sport seriously look into it because it would be far to devastating to all of sport. Its the same thing that caused baseball to stick their head in the sand about steriods. Just a theory, but wouldn't gambler make a ton of more money if they bet on the underdog to win instead of the favorite? Seems to me that this would be more of an incintive to help NU win than Texas. Not really. Hypothetically if a ref thinks it should be an easy win for TX and bets big on TX to cover then the game ends up being closer than expected he would do everything in his power to make sure TX covers. It works both ways, thats why when you see calls that make no sense especially ones that should be overturned with the use of replay and the ref comes out and says play confirmed when everyone knows it wasnt, its time to start asking serious questions. You lost me. Texas is favored by -13.5 points or thereabout depending on where you look. If the refs can spot NU some points so that they don't cover, how is this any different than ensuring that Texas does in fact cover? You would make the same money either way if you bet correctly. Where it would be advantageous is the straight money line. If NU has 10:1 odds to win the game, one could make a killing off betting on NU to beat Texas straight up. If I bet $100 on Nebraska, I would make $1000. If I bet $100 on Texas at 2:1 odds, which I would be shocked if you could find these, I would only win $200. The former provides the least amount of investment and pays off much more handsomely than the latter. So we're back to the original point: A shady ref is better off ensuring that Texas loses to satisfy the gamblers.

  20. Alcohol will be served in club sections only. Per Big 12 rules, the rest of the stadium will be dry. You can thank Texas/CU fans for that
  21. Suh is amazing, but he really has no shot at the Heisman. If Colt and Tebow end up sucking Gerhart is waiting in the wings and can't do anything to lose it as his regular season is over. I'd be surprised if Suh made it to NY as I think that the votes will make it a 2-3 man race like last year. Now, if Suh plays iron man football and lights up the Texas secondary with a 65 yard bomb, all bets are off.
