There are problems with this team, but a lot of it is mental. Defense has played the run great and has come alive in the 2nd half. Can't fault them too much for the offense giving Wisconsin short fields on two possessions.

Burkhead probably isn't 100% right now. Knee is still bothering him.

Actually scored 4 tds against Mizzou. It was 12-0 going in.

Why can't we turn our heads on long passes? For how good Hagg was, he was the one who got burnt on ISU's TD in '09. Countless other times too. Stafford turns his head, it's either a pick or it's our ball. Those were the only two things that could've happened. Frustrating first half, but there's still another 30 minutes. I've liked how we've played in the run defense, now we just need to get our heads straight on PA passes. Offense stepped it up on their last drive. I still like our chances.

Every single defense I've seen in the past 5 years has had problems looking for the f'ing ball on long pass plays.

There's been twice now where the short end of the field on 3rd and short, we've stacked our receivers and there wasn't a CB, really any defenders in the area. Call an audible, and have the receiver sit. Easy throw and catch with very small chance of not getting a first down. GDit

That I think the turning point of the season happened on a terrible officiating call (Ameer's "muffed" punt against ASU last week). Ever since then our defense has been playing pretty good.

Very hard to think that the staff would've played Anderson if they knew it was a torn ACL. They're very quiet about injuries, but they would never do anything to intentionally hurt one of their players.

I get how the one angle looked like it touched his foot, but every single one of the other angles shown it didn't look like it was even close. Looked like there was at least a yard between him and the ball. Worst f'in call this year.

3 and out on defense

I don't think there's been any missed tackles yet. Signs of progress.

Arky State scored 34 points against an Oregon team who had shut down for the day. They were seriously up like 49-7 at halftime. I think they had there 2nd string QB playing in the 2nd quarter. While it's true they did score 34 points, it's how they scored is what you should look at.

A telling thing though is that there was a quote by Beck that said that he didn't know that Burkhead was out for the game until something like the middle of 2nd quarter. His gameplan was what was shown and what we ran. I think Burkhead possibly could have broken some tackles that Abdullah didn't, but there was nothing that was stopping us in the first half. That being said I think Martinez is going to get 3 or 4 TDs tomorrow, then against Idaho State he's going to get 4 or 5. He'll have 13 by the end of the 1st half in the Wisconsin game.

Sounds like what we had in 2010. Once we faced any semblance of a D, our O stalled and it stalled big time.

I can't really remember, but what type of talk was there leading up to the Washington game 2 years ago? There was a lot of talk about Locker as he was still in the Heisman talk. I think all this talk about UCLA is ridiculous. 1st year coach with the team still adjusting is going to be the biggest factor. Also the fact that Rice's offense was moving pretty well and had about tied the game when their starting QB got hurt.
