  1. lol wow. Colorado isn't any where near being good enough to win the Pac-11.
  2. KU (and ISU, TTU, A&M, OSU, OU, et al.) had the option of working with Nebraska all these years and stood up to Texas and their arrogant "gimme-gimme-gimme" attitude like NU did. Instead, their AD/Prez's were all googly-eyed with Texas and voted the way of the Longhorns in every facet of the conference. They had the option to see thru the smoke and mirrors UT had been throwing up all those years but instead they chose not to. Yeah they've had several options over the years. Unfortunately for them, they chose unwisely. Bottome line...they were whored out....w.h.o.r.e.d....o.u.t. by their leadership. exactly. All that had to happen was the rest of the North side with us and none of this would have happened. We cared more about the north teams than Texas ever did. Now they paint us as the bad guy in all of this. I think they really believed we wouldn't bolt that's the only explanation i can come up with as to why they sided with Texas. Then they have the nerve to say we are throwing away tradition. lol. there is no tradition if you are going against a long time rival and bowing down to the new guys. but would TU still be there. i think we can all admit that the big 12 would not be viable if TU and Company decided to flee. in bowing to every demand, they managed to keep TU around, preserving their own hides in the process. NU was the North's sacrificial lamb to UT so they could stay in a BCS conference. With NU gone, TU has absolute control and the title of saviour. I don't think Texas was ever gonna flee from the Big 12. They really don't fit anywhere else.
  3. OU-TX game brings a lot of revenue to the Texas State Fair which is going around in October. When the game moves it will really hurt Dallas. The game may still be in the Metroplex but it's also another 1 hour drive to Jerry's house. Lately though K-State has had Texas number so they have that to contend with.

  5. Talk about prima donnas. Your views towards Iowa State reflect the arrogance you husker fans have. You are looking at one sport.......one. And in that sport, a very average ISU team beat Nebraska in Lincoln 9-7. That makes you very average. In other sports, you are pale in comparison. Your mens basketball team is the armpit of the Big 12, and every Big ten team now has you circled on their calender for an EASY win. Other sports, same scenario. I never thought Tom Osborne would run away from competition, I always thought he would do what is right. I was wrong. For the record, I bet you don't win a title in the Big ten this decade. You are going to get your red rumps handed to you. Good riddance. Let the other schools of the Big ten find out what we have known for years. You're a bunch of unfounded prima donnas. Even Northwestern will kick your butt. Yeah let's see how the game plays out this year. You also forget all those other sports don't bring as near as much money as football does. We didn't run away from competition we just wanted things to be fair. We weren't gonna be pushed around like all the north teams did. To be honest you were close to be in a mid major conference. You were lucky Texas saved you. Have fun get your ass beat by OU and TX every year.
  6. Because they realize the only tough team they face in conference will be OU. If they go undefeated they may get overlooked cause the Big 12 isn't going to be as strong as the Big 10. Also it hurts them later on when they need to join a different conference because they will be wary of Texas trying to screw them over. Their image took a huge hit today. I just have a hard time buying that. Any other team might struggle to get into a NC with that conference, but I'm willing to bet the biggest and richest athletic school in the nation can make it happen by pushing their way in. I do think it's funny they won't have the coverage we will now. well also consider Texas has been cupcaking all their OOC games. They would have to schedule good teams instead of having 3 warm up teams. True. They are all going apesh#t on that board and I love reading it. yeah it makes me laugh.

  8. QFT. I have watched Big 10 games last couple of seasons and much more parity than in the Big 12. I don't think the Big 10 divisions will ever be as bad as the Big 12 divisions.
  9. I don't think that any MWC teams are gonna leave since they are close to becoming an AQ for the BCS bowls. Plus when all the details come out how Texas tried to screw the Pac-10 teams will think twice about joining the Big 12.
  10. lol. They probably didn't think Mizzou was really set on joining the Big 10 as much as Nebraska was even though you may have wanting to join a lot longer.

  12. The same was true of a certain N University not too long ago. Remember N can't win anymore because fast kids from the South don't want to go to that cold blu-collar town? Their offense is obselete... the landscape of college football has changed... Except Nebraska is getting back to being good while Notre Dame just wallows. Even when you had Charlie Weis and a star qb you couldn't hang with the big boys. If we can score td's this season i have no doubt we will win the Big 12. Hell if we scored td's last season we would've only lost like one or two games and won the Big 12.
  13. Why would Texas share now? They single handedly kept the Big 12 alive for the lesser schools. If anything Texas will take more.
  14. Sure it is a lot but will make it up over time being in the Big 10.
  15. Personally I think aTm would rather go to the SEC and get out from under their big brother, UT. Credit aTm for having the cajones to consider going to the SEC where they would, most likely, become the Baylor of that conference. I am sure they would be ok while receiving more money.
  16. I am sure OU could leave to another conference if they wanted. They aren't afraid of Tx and if OU was to leave then Tx would really be screwed. I don't understand why the North teams were so adamant on keeping the Big 12 together. They are just gonna receive an ass beating every year in football from Tx and OU. If they thought they were gonna lose a lot of money just wait til Tx takes it all from them. They would have better been served going to a lesser conference. Also hurt them in recruiting too. So i don't see how they will get better. But they are going to get what they deserve.
  17. it's awful, i hate that website, worst message board ever. bu this is pretty big news for them, and i have been going back to see the progression, from cocky about going to the big 10, to unsure (if the big 10 will want them, them and NU, or just NU), to nervous about the big 10 not wanting them, to panicked that they will have nowhere to go, and then excited about a 'revamped' big 12, to this. edit: that orangebloods story is interesting, but either way, mizzou will always be a second rate program. orangebloods boards are the worst ever. Their poster are delusional about everything.
  18. Why would baseball have to worry? The Big Ten plays baseball....and I don't see Nebraska pulling it. Besides, there will be more money in the Big Ten, remember, which will give more money to athletics also. It was in reference to how bad we have become. It was mostly a joke. I believe we would have to drop one men's sport to take up hockey. We may actually do better in baseball here is the Big 10 standings for baseball Team Record Pct. Record Pct. 1. Minnesota 15-9 .625 30-28 .517 2. Michigan 14-10 .583 35-22 .614 3. Iowa 13-11 .542 30-28 .517 Northwestern 13-11 .542 24-32 .429 5. Purdue 12-12 .500 33-24 .579 Indiana 12-12 .500 28-27 .509 7. Michigan State 11-13 .458 34-19 .642 Ohio State 11-13 .458 28-23 .549 9. Illinois 10-14 .417 26-26 .500 10. Penn State 9-15 .375 22-30 .423 I don't see hockey listed as a sport. The only Big 10 team i know that plays it is Michigan.
  19. The reason why they won't do it that way from everything I've read is that there are 4 teams in the Big 10 that have over 800 wins which are Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, and Penn State. Having 4 teams with over 800 wins they want to separate those teams into two different divisions and there is no way they'll separate the Ohio State/Michigan rivalry so they kept that and assigned Nebraska and Penn State in the same division. Keep in mind this is just speculation and like a mock draft...nothing is written in stone yet. Most of those Penn St. wins are from before they joined the Big Ten conference. Penn St. has only won the conference 3 times in 20 years and in that same span of time Iowa and Wisconsin have won it the same amount or more. Lately though Iowa has had Penn St. number. It doesn't matter if those wins come before joining the Big 10 Penn State still has over 800 wins....you could say the same thing with Nebraska then. We've earned over 800 wins majority of it in the Big 8 and then some in the Big 12 and now we're moving to a new conference. Nebraska was sitting in the same boat as Penn State with conference championships where we only have 2 Big 12 Titles and were were North Division Champs four times. We've only won the Big 12 Championship twice in 14 years. They were an independent until joining the Big 10 and unless they were playing a Notre Dame schedule who says they weren't scheduling cream puffs? The difference with us we were in a conference and even though may not have been the best but the Big 8 was a valid conference to voters. Take another former ind. school, Florida St. They join the ACC and pretty much own it throughout the 90's. Now it sounds to me Florida State was playing good teams to come into a conference and dominate it while Penn State struggles in the Big 10. Now you could say the ACC sucked and may have but just sounds like Penn State wasn't playing the same competition that Florida State was.
  20. They keep turning down invites from the Big 10 and i don't see why the Big 10 keeps going after them. Sure a lot of their teams play ND and fit well but they haven't been relevant in football for quite a while and if their new coach is any indication they won't be playing much defense either. It must be pure academics that the Big 10 wants them?
  21. Also could be that even when Missouri had a good football team they were getting ass pounded by good teams whenever they lost. I think it has a lot more to do than with just athletics though. But it is important to at least be able to compete. Northwestern is in the Big 10 aren't they? Yeah but i was just trying to be funny.
  22. Also could be that even when Missouri had a good football team they were getting ass pounded by good teams whenever they lost.
  23. If/when Texas absorbs the Pac 10, they might go on an accelerated time schedule too. I don't know might be too tempting for Colorado. Here is a conversation that i imagine happening: Hawkins: We could win the Big 12 in 2011 Colorado AD: but we will be the only ones in the conference Hawkins: EXACTLY. BCS bowl here we come.
  24. hate doesn't know geography. i want nebraska and penn state to play in november. each year, EVERY YEAR. Why do you hate Penn St? Because when NU played PSU in Happy Valley a few years ago, some of their fans treated ours like crap. Ok so one time tarnishes it? Now if it becomes routine now when we play them ok that's different.
