  1. Big, wrestling, intelligent OL. YES PLEASE! Welcome to
  2. 3 for 2 guy I assume? (Not that he'd redshirt) I never understood why Rivals-24/7-Scout doesn't list JUCOs as 2 for 2, 3 for 3, etc on their profiles.
  3. Yeaa.. that's a pretty bad fake.. It isn't fake. The recruiting head for NCS really did send it. IMO he was trying too hard to be unique and hip. Problem is that he apparently sent out many copies of that same exact letter to recruits, a couple of which posted a pic on twitter. Those recruits must be a bit pissed thinking they got a one of a kind letter only to find it wasn't. You can tell it's an obvious photo copy. That C on the line. Can't remember the last time I didn't draw a whole letter because the margins were too tight on the sheet.
  4. Bring him in as a Jamal Turner/Alonzo Moore type (even though Moore never actually got a shot at QB). Give him a shot at QB, with the understanding that he'll be moved to WR if that doesn't work out. We need this kind of speed, regardless of where it is on the field.
  5. Welcome Luke. Look forward to you wearing red, and your work getting others to join up.
  6. I could post the Terrence Cody pic with his shirt off at his pro-day/combine, but I'll save you all the eyesore and still make my point. Google it if you are into self-punishment.
  7. Don't get me started on Minnesotans....
  8. Not derogatory. I was gonna type his name out but I couldn't remember how to spell it. Sorry Then it's not an issue. I couldn't get a read off of the context. Thanks for clarifying.
  9. Overheard, as in Tommie Frazier on the radio? I wouldn't be too surprised. He hasn't made any on field impact here even after his position switch. I think it would be admirable to tough it out. But he's got helicopter cousins like Frazier balking at how he hasn't started at QB yet. I don't think that's the best influence. I vote for Adam Taylor as the #2 RB. Which Cotton are people putting in at TE? Sam? Did we graduate that Korean kid on the line? I love our skill positions, but our OL does not inspire a ton of confidence right now. Nor the DL, and that's scary, although the DL is more unproven potential and ? marks. Come on man.... I hate to call people out on the internet, but I have to say something here. The man gave 5 years of effort and dedication to the team, and earned a scholarship as a walk-on starter. At least give him the respect to call him by his name and not "that minority player at X position". (I realize I did not state his name in this post either, but I was not referring to him in a derogatory manner.) I like as you are giving this guy crap you dont mention his name either... His name is Seung Hoon Choi. Read the end of my post. I know what his name is. There was no obvious place in my post to put his name, and I didn't want to extend it just to do so. Could I have put it in place of "The man", sure, but I didn't. And it really isn't a race issue either. That wasn't what bugged me. He uses names for everyone but Choi, then calls him "that Korean kid". I'm just saying....

  11. I agree that the zone read is hard to quantify. But if we're running it 105 times per game, I think we'll be doing OK. Fat fingers strike again.
  12. Martinez will never have only 5 carries per game and he shouldn't. Heck, he is going to have at least 5 designed QB runs and then he will scramble for probably at least 5 more. I am saying designed runs.... Not scrambles(probably should consider that) I more mean going in to a game.. This is the game plan. And I through in the freshmen because if they aren't red-shirted, it might be fun to see what they bring to the table. How are you counting zone reads, to Taylor or Ameer? If they are actually being decided by the defense, they almost need their own category since we run them about 10-105 times a game (again, assuming it's not a designed hand-off)
  13. He's in town for the Junior Days this weekend, but that's the reference to it. Probably just passed the state line. I could be wrong but I don't think the junior days starts until tomorrow so I'm guessing he won't come until then. Maybe. How far away from Lincoln is he? I would prefer to sleep in a little if I was him and stay overnight, but if they are close, and depending on when they start tomorrow, that could have affected his departure time.
  14. Couldn't agree more! He was as good as it gets, he always made the right decision and rarely made a mistake or took a loss on the play. Jamelle Holieway would probably be the next closest option qb to him. I'd take Crouch.... How much did Crouch actually run a true option compared to designed qb runs such as the QB powers, isos, and leads. Some of them types of plays were just developed for Frost. Frazier did not operate many designed qb runs. I think maybe the Fiesta Bowl against Florida, they would spread out 5 wides and let Frazier do a draw trap, but other than that, he was mostly running conventional option runs. I was referring too which QB I would prefer if I was starting a traditional Nebraska team.... Imagine Crouch with that 1995 Husker talent! Scary good.... There is no wrong answer in this argument. They are both right.

  16. I'd take him regardless. He's a good/great athlete you could plug into a few different spots. Can't have enough of those.
  17. Peyton Newell in 2014 is hinting at a decision that, if true, would point to him picking us. That would be HUGE for out DL going forward.
  18. I get what you're trying to say, but let's not sell short the importance of a good/great nickel CB. Evans more than saved our butts a few times this season, as did Gomes, as did Hagg when he was Peso/Nickel. In today's football, there are almost always 3 WRs on most plays that aren't obvious run downs. You need three CBs to cover them.
  19. How do you pronounce his first name? Cee-than? Glad to have him aboard, just want to make sure I'm not butchering it in my head.
  20. I could see this if he wasn't an Oregon kid. Unless there is a complete upheaval of the staff, and even if that happens, it may be like trying to get a Nebraska kid away from Nebraska. Hoping he looks around, but I wouldn't bank on it.
  21. Damn he's got some long arms. Definitely want this guy over the next 4 years.
  22. I doubt he's gonna decommit. He's pretty deep into Hawkeye country, so he likely grew up a fan, and all bias aside, they have done well by their OL with Ferentz there.
  23. I don't think they have "signed" yet. They are enrolled, but they can't sign LOIs yet if I'm not mistaken. But, they are about as signed as they are ever going to be since they are in class.
  24. Here is a list that I put together, some are committed, some are undecided, and some have committed elsewhere but I was curious about them since we pursued them Aaron Cochran OL SEMPER FI West N/A Kenny Lacy OL SEMPER FI West UCLA Christian LaCouture DL SEMPER FI West LSU Elijah Qualls DT SEMPER FI West Washington Zach Hannon OL SEMPER FI East Nebraska Gabriel Miller LS SEMPER FI East Nebraska Marcus Newby LB SEMPER FI East Nebraska Malik Zaire QB SEMPER FI East Notre Dame David Williams RB SEMPER FI East N/A Priest Willis CB (3) UA Nitro N/A Demorea Stringfellow WR (8) UA Highlight Washington Joe Mathis DL (31) Army West N/A Eddie Vanderdoes DT (47) Army West N/A Josh Banderas LB (51) Army West Nebraska Mackenzie Alexander CB (24) Army East N/A Christian Morris OL (60) Army East UCLA Scott Pagano DL (56) Army East Clemson Greg Webb DL (58) Army East UNC
  25. I don't know if there are any "new" defensive recruits, but any defensive recruit looking at us that doesn't see an opportunity is either blind, or can't get past admissions anyway. Back to Terrell, if he commits, that would be a GREAT start to 2013.
