  1. I can't wait for him to make you eat a big ole sh#t burger.
  2. Offense looks worse than last year? OH. Really? Wow. We scored 40 points. 40. Yea it was Chattanooga, and FCS opponent. How did our offense fair against the FCS South Dakota State last year, when you said the offense was better? 17. 17 points with an offense that had a few games behind it already. This was the first game ever for some of the oline. That statement was just idiotic. For comparison sake, we scored 49 points in our opening game last season against West. Kentucky. SDSU had a good game plan and showed every team how to stop us last year. Contain Martinez and we have an opportunity to win. Just look at what Texas did the next week to us, pretty much the same thing as SDSU, shut down Martinez and make him pass. And our receivers couldn't catch the ball bc we are a "running" team. That is why Marlowe is on the field, bc he can block, it is not bc he has play making ability at the WR position. Chattanooga had a good gameplan. I mean really it can't get any better when it comes to scheming. 8-9 guys in the box should stop the ground game. It didn't. SDSU stopped us last year because we just weren't that good. Martinez didn't want to step up. No reliable receivers. Roy and Rex were boggled down by an inconsistent oline (still a problem) and no passing threat. This year, I believe those issues will be resolved.
  3. Am I the only who thinks this is an extremely ridiculous sounding sentence? "Man, that was terrible the way we owned them on the scoreboard."
  4. I can agree with that. I don't know what the reason was, but the oline couldn't run an iso or a power run. In the next few weeks we'll see why.

  6. Huskerboard is getting ridiculous. Chattanooga had 8-9 guys in the box and we still rushed for over 200. But no no no, it's going to be so easy for anyone to stop it. I'm also sick of everyone trashing Martinez. He looked good. Yea, he had a problem looking where he was throwing (I think it's hilarious no one points out that people in the nfl have that problem). And I agree, that's gonna hurt us. But his arm looked good, and his accuracy was a huge suprise. He looked confident. HE AUDIBLED. That second touchdown run was a dive/power run before he said, "well that's no good." He looks healthy and looks like he knows how to take a hit. I thought he looked fantastic. No one is talking about Enuwa who looked great. He wasn't going down easy at all. It's like you want the 95 team, and nothing else will do. They played hard out there, and everyone is pooping on them.
  7. It's funny reading all these posts about the song. It's actually pretty good. My roommate cares nothing about football, Nebraska, or sports for that matter, and he thought it was pretty awesome. I feel like this is the same board who probably doesn't like most good rap. Which is fine, to each his own. I mean it's better than that crappy "Green and Yellow" that Packers fan did.
  8. 1. Ohio State 2. @Wisconsin 3. Michigan State 4. Iowa 5. @Michigan 6. @Penn State 7. Northwestern 8. @Minnesota 9. Washington 10. Fresno State 11. @Wyoming 12. Chattanooga
  9. Let me get this straight. The stand up guy Tressle found out in a e-mail last April before football season that some of his top players were trading merchandise for cash or Tats which is against NCAA rules. He then does nothing to report the misconduct to the NCAA or his own school. When this all came out in December this stand up guy then acts that he's outraged even though he knew this was going on in April. He then makes a big deal that unless the players pledge that they won't go pro the next year then they won't play in the bowl game. Then it's found out he knew back in April he makes a appology and Ohio State gives him 2 game suspension. Only after he knows that the NCAA is not going to reduce the players 5 game suspension that he decides he going to add three more games to his penalty. (Probably to stall the NCAA from giving something worse then his being really contrite.) OH, what a web we weave when you first try and deceive. I have no dog in this hunt. but can't see how the NCAA can let him get away with what he did with only a five game suspension. I think a big question to ask is, "What would you do?" From every standpoint, it's hard for me to say I would have turned the kids in. First of all (and in no way is this a legitimate excuse) he's going to need at least 4 out of the 5 guys to win games, turning them in, especially at that time, could cost a season (again, just stating that as my mindset if I were him). The other reason, which is semi-decent reason, is, at what point are you trying to protect your kids? I mean, playing in high school, it was like a family. We looked out for each other and the coaches did, too. If a kid got caught smoking pot once, we made sure he didn't do it again, but we weren't about to go to the A.D. Tressel is a father figure to these kids, how hard would it be to turn in someone you promised to look after? I think the 5 games is enough, but I see both arguments.
  10. I myself have thought from the get-go that Tressel shouldn't be fired, and I could never really put my finger on why. This article really put some light into and I thought I'd ask the knowledgeable people of the Huskerboard what they think. I thought this was slightly relevant since the Huskers are in the B1G, but if it needs to be moved that's fine by me. My link
  11. My link I don't think it really says why anywhere, and I've never heard of this before so I have no clue what's really going on. Did we encounter sanctions at some point? Over-sign? I'm confused.
  12. Ya he is mature enough to be suspended 5 games... And yes Pryor is a stronger passer, but Robinson's running ability is far superior. Pryor is nowhere near as fast or agile as Robinson. Don't forget if Michigan actually had a defense and if Cam Newton didn't have the year he did, Robinson may very well have been the Heisman winner While Robinson definitely is quicker and more agile than Pryor, I don't know if the same can be said about speed. In all honesty, if Pryor, Robinson, and Martinez were in a race, it might be a tie. In a 40 yard dash, Robinson might have Pryor, but in a 60 yard dash, Pryor probably has Robinson. Are you watching the highlight tapes that I am?!?! Please explain to me how how a one man team consistently has these 60 yard runs, while Pryor does not? If Pryor is faster and more agile, and he has a better team around him, then why aren't we seeing 60 yard Pryor runs? Because the plays that Ohio State run don't involve Pryor running the ball unless he's scrambling. Pryor might run 4 zone read plays a game, while Robinson probably runs zone read or option plays 25 times a game. Tressel's offense doesn't call for Pryor to make these runs. I would probably say Pryor would do well in Michigan's (former) offense. Can't say the same for Robinson at OSU's.

  14. Exactly haha, I'll take Robinson What about wins and losses? Are those no longer stats? Plus, I can't wait to see how Robinson fares in Hokes system. Terrell Pryor is, what, 2-1 in BCS bowls? Robinson has never been to one... Plus, Pryor is a threat to throw. Robinson is about as much a threat to throw as Rex.
  15. Well... I feel like this thread can be deleted...
  16. I don't exactly know how to feel about it either. My link
  17. Solich?? I'm sorry I felt like I had to.
  18. Nebraska ties. Thats all you need to coach around here. If they went to school at UNL or were born in Nebraska, get them an application! Why the hell haven't they hired me yet? Don't they know how good my defenses are on NCAA 11?! Im sure you'd be a great fit at Nebraska. The fans would love you just for the fact you live in Nebraska or have lived in Nebraska. We should just get every old coach or former player to coach here. Screw the top guys in the business, we shouldn't even waste our time with them. You seem really angry about this. All I'm gonna say about hiring outside of Nebraska. "Bill Callahan"
  19. I'm confused by why so many people thing Stein won't start. He looked pretty good to me. Granted, he wasn't a game-changer, but he held his ground very well. Also, I thought the Skill Positions on offense were: Quarterback (Martinez) Running back (Rex) Tight End (Cotton) X (Kinnie) Z (Few options, but I see either Gilleylen, Bell, or Enuwa) Zebra (Reed and/or Enuwa) Slot (Not sure. Marlowe?) Cotton is a great player, and Reed is a playmaker. They're gonna be on the field a lot in my opinion. Kinnie will be the only receiver on the field consistently. It's hard to really make a depth chart anymore. You want certain players on the field for certain circumstances. 3rd and long, Cotton will probably come off the field and Reed can move from Zebra to TE. You want your best players on the field at all times, no matter what position they are playing.
  20. Lol really... Q thinks so, huh? The BEST WR's in the B10. That's like being the tallest midget or the best DH in the NL. Just kidding of course. It isn't as run oriented as everyone thinks. Ha I was going to say there have been some very good receivers that came from Michigan and some of the best in the country are in Columbus.
  21. Didn't Gomes play more of a linebacker position than a safety? I know he's smaller and faster, but he was always in the box playing some kind of Will backer. Because of that, I see our safeties getting better. Nickel will be worse, but I'm just interested to see who will play it. Cassidy? Smith? Green? If it's Cassidy, does Smith start safety again? With the size of the Big 10, I'd want to see Cassidy play it, but I don't how well he can cover a receiver in man. Honestly, I think we'll be worse at linebacker. If we had stayed in the Big 12, I think we would have gotten better, but in the Big 10, some of those running backs are bigger than our backers. Compton is going to have to have a BIG year, or else we're going to be hurting. David won't be able to have the success he had this year unless Compton shows that he can handle the oline and stop the backs. If we want a top 10 overall D, I think it relies on what Compton does. I can't say about cornerback. I wanna see how Evans does every game before I make a judgement. They'll be picking on him a lot as Fonzie will have one side locked down. Dline overall is going to be better. I see Crick having a statistical season similar to Suh's, but he won't be as game-changing. In order for that to happen, Steinkuhler is going to have to be able to destroy the guy in front of him, forcing double teams so Crick can work his magic. Overall, I think our D is going to be fantastic.
  22. Ya they lost 5 1st team All-Big 10 Seniors on defense alone, so yes-- LAST year was good. Who would be on there? I could see maybe Nathan Williams or John Simon being on there, but D-line is hard to crack in this conference.
  23. Brewster is back and yes he has a better chance at All-Big 10 honors than Caputo (this was a dark horse pick for sure that has stirred some commotion, but debate is what these sites are for). As for Daniels I see him having a break out season after Iowa losing the rest of their d-line. Daniels is very athletic and has broken many weight lifting records at Iowa, but needs to work on using his arms and better footwork. Not trying to be rude or anything, but not having Brewster as the best center is kind of disrespectful to him. Especially with Caputo, who was blown up time and time again (Just ask Martinez's ankle). In my opinion, I honestly think Brewster is the best center in the nation.
