  1. It'll get broken again in a few years. That's the transition of CFB today. Kenny is without a doubt one of the better blockers we've had come through here. He made some great plays as well. And I'm sure his personality/positions are overshadowing plenty of things for me...but I'm just not that sad to see him go. He wasn't good for the team, and this above statement isn't going to change my opinion of him which are based on dozens of prior ones contrary to it.
  2. I don't think the team is as talented as you make it out to be. Our #1's could run with most of the B1G (OL being the exception). But the #2's, and #3's...that's where we fall behind the elite. Those guys are probably a better measure of talent than just concentrating on the 1's. Every team is going to find a handful of top guys, but it's those behind them that make the difference between 10 wins and 12. We aren't 12 win talented. We're not far off, but I'd say we're no closer today than we were in 2008 when Bo took over. We've got to get those 15ish ranked classes, that are FULL. Then Riley can do something.
  3. yawwwwwnnn...this board has collectively bitched about Bell and his "injuries" for the better party of the last 18 months. throwing a solid block doesn't negate the missed games that were as expected as Bo's 4 losses.
  4. minus the "injuries", drops, grandstanding and multitude of other things that come with "football kenny". DPE > Bell...count me in the camp that's happy to see him go. a couple years ago I certainly never thought I'd say that.
  5. FSU won, has proceeded to go undefeated since --- and STILL has little to no respect. It's going to take a LOT more than an Ohio State win to bring any further legitimacy to the B1G.
  6. USC rolls by 17 - the Huskers are about as motivated to play in this game as we are to discuss it. It's going to be Washington 3.0 only USC version.
  7. I. Think that. You are. Enjoying overusing the. Period to help drive. Your point home.
  8. based on the overlaps - only Florida had reduced revenues between 2013 and 2014 2013/2014 TEXAS: 109/113 ND: 78/81 ALABAMA: 89/95 LSU: 74/88 MICHIGAN: 81/91 FLORIDA: 75/69 OKLAHOMA: 70/71 GEORGIA: 66/66 OSU: 61/66 NEBRASKA: 56/60 AUBURN: 75/75 ARKANSAS: 61/57 USC: 58/59 A&M: 54/58 PENN STATE: 59/68 WISONSIN: 51 WASHINGTON: 56/68 SOUTH CAR: 49/56 OREGON: 54/56 TENNESSEE: 55/70
  9. I believe it was still contracted out then. That's how Nobler came on board originally before being hired. It is pretty much depending on the hardware/software. He has a team of 8 now. It's not usually a position intertwined w/ the staff. It's more dependent on the technology. If they are planning to switch away from XOS then this makes sense. But if they are maintaining all the same technology then there is more to this than him just bringing in his own guy.

  11. A video coordinator certainly is not normal. Even the journal star noted that it was rare. A coach isn't going to hire his own video guy. You're talking about technical knowledge of the equipment, processes, etc. That's something almost NO coach has any interest in hiring for. He might have a "guy" he knows, but the entire technical aspect from servers, to software could be completely different than what they are after, creating either a big learning curve a huge reinvestment by the university. There's probably more to this than just a new staff showing up.
  12. I think a while back Count or Nupolo said something to the effect that we'd eventually be referring to Pelini's departure as a 'dumpster fire' in response to someone calling the Cally era a dumpster fire. Pretty sure whoever it was was quickly called out. I'm starting to think they might not have been that far off. As the days, weeks pass - and next season rolls around we're starting to see how bad Pelini left things. I still think this thing gets worse before it gets better. Who knows how many will transfer after spring. It's pretty toxic right now and isn't getting better. Riley might have a bigger job turning the program around than Pelini had.
  13. "I honestly took great pride in Wake Forest. I had some really good friends there. I trusted some people there. I thought Wake was a little different than other schools. I really, at the time, felt we were going to get a bigger commitment in terms of facilities and support for the program that never really materialized. We loved all 13 years we were in Winston-Salem, but I'm not real happy with the way things ended."

  15. No one is blaming him individually/wholly, just noting the common denominator in the last decade of mediocrity. Ignoring it is putting blinders on. I don't agree with Bo's methods, but you'd have to be pretty naive to not think at least some of what he's been saying for so long is true. Perlman is the least of the football teams' problems - especially now that Bo is gone...but he has been a contributer to the decline in culture - the us against the world mentality that has developed the last couple of years. They should have pulled the trigger a while ago.
  16. Does someone need to take credit? This has been going on for years, well before Perlman, or Eichorst, or Bo. The only threat to it is declining asses in the seats...which is what was beginning to happen under Bo. So I guess we can give Perlman/Eichorst credit for not allowing this contribution to slip. I'd rather just say it's the product of a successful program, and solidifies the need for that continued success.
  17. The list is long. And it's fairly clear. The entire facility is academic. About 60,000 square feet of it. You think all those doctoral/grad students running around in there play football? http://www.omaha.com/huskers/nu-athletics-keeps-millions-of-dollars-in-reserve-to-pay/article_99ea07ec-c468-5143-a30d-86053d140417.html
  18. he was being judged plenty harshly after the A&M game. it continued for some time (da'skers). the odd thing is it was ok - even "trendy" - on this board to critisize Perlman and the "administration" in regards to the football program, right up until about....last week. now all of a sudden any suggestion that there is a connection between Perlman and the football program is rubbish.
