  1. USC gunning after our recruits huh? I guess that means we are off to a good start when Hollywood comes calling.
  2. +1 agreed +1 i agree that i desagree about my disagree I agree with him.
  3. Woot Woot! Stay strong Ryne. Things are gonna get crazy, just know we all want you here and stay strong.
  4. It was more fun to diss on KU when the manginobeast was there. This is a tough situation. Why does Gill have to be so likable and cool?!
  5. "Looks like the football players got the worse end of the deal." HAHAH! Baby Gabs got toasted in a fight. It's pry good he didn't come here because Crick and Stein would make him get nose surgery once every couple of weeks.
  6. How's Notre Dame levels compared to us, anybody? Notre Dame ranks 2nd in the nation at 93% GSR (Graduation Success Rate) in football while Nebraska ranks tied for 12th (with 4 other schools) at 78% GSR in football. On the flipside, Nebraska ranks 1st in the nation in CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in football with 98 followed by Penn St. with 53 and Notre Dame with 52. Thanks Nex!
  7. Very nice post Nexus. Congrats staff on getting the right types of players that you work your tails off to get. Maybe someday we can pick and choose through recruits wanting to jump on the bandwagon of the National Title machine that will be Nebraska soon enough. I've been pretty consistently impressed with this staff. Keep on satisfying boys!
  8. I guess the main reason I think this kid would be a good get is exactly what Zoogies said. That name is bombin! His parents knew what they were doing.
  9. How's Notre Dame levels compared to us, anybody?
  10. The beast of Texas has awoken. All High School Juniors watch out, it's on the prowl...
  11. I heeard when Owa made his spreadsheet the size of the stadium's scoreboard was on the list. As for the pieces in bold (I do this because I hate it when people spit out numbers as fact without doing at least a little research) Lache Seastrunk Corey Nelson Jake Matthews Aaron Franklin Ahmad Dixon Ross Apo (reciever) Torrea Peterson ...which means about 24% of their in-state offers chose to go elsewhere. SAT: The exam consists of three parts: Critical Reading, Mathematics and Writing. The scores from each section can range from 200 to 800, so the best possible total score is 2400. (1300 doesn't seem as impressive now does it?) Most schools take the reading/math composits when doing comparison. As for comparing Texas to Rice - here are the actual numbers. (25th/75th percentiles) Texas Reading - 530/670 Math - 570/690 Rice Reading - 650/750 Math - 670/780 So the bottom 25% of Rice is still almost smarter that the majority of UT. As for how NU stacks up against Texas? Almost identical, Texas edges nebraska by about 10-20 points. Not exactly significant. Texas brings in $87 million, Nebraska $55 million. $23 million shy of double. NU ranked #2 in 2008 football revenue in the Big 12. From a pure "value" perspective it's even closer. 1. Texas (second last season), $119 million team value, $59 million profit. 2007: $92 million team value, $46 million profit. 4. Nebraska (18th last season), $93 million team value, $49 million profit. you read that right, 18th - 4th in 1 year (without an appearance in the Big 12 Championship). Thank you Bo/TO. 2007: $49 million team value, $12 million profit. I think we are gaining just fine on Texas in the $$$ category. Seriously, you used a gay/lesbian opinion as an argument for why football players go to UT? I won't even get into this one. Since 1980 Texas has only been in the AP top 5, 7 times with 1 National Championship. NU, 9 times with 3 National Championship. And a +1 to you my good sir! I'm going to be honest here though. Living in the northeast section of Nebraska, in highschool I would say 25% of our student body consisted of diehard Texas fans. Trust me it was annoying. The point I'm trying to make though is that allegiance to the state school is not always as strong as we like to think for us, or Texas kids. Play the right game and say the right things, and you can snag players from anywhere. I grew up my whole life thinking I was going to UNL for school and ended up in South Dakota in a program of study that was just as good as Lincolns. And I agree with KC, don't act like it's the end all be all to get into Texas because it is not. I have lots of idiot classmates that were only decent in school that made it down there.
  12. I'm actually really excited about this kid. Did you see that block he made downfield at about 1:40? Dude if you made this, tons of props your way. Not too much time street! I think the creator is a stud for making that vid.
  13. Chase Rome was from Mizzou, he's Not a Gabbert, and we have our QB in Turner anyway. Might as well see if Mizzou QBs can turn around the bad stereotype they will have with Neb and ,he can be the 2nd QB we pick up. Lets try, but just not get excited about it.
  14. I was dating a girl who was very good friends with Alex Henery's fiance (I don't know if they got married?) at Omaha Burke. I dated her when Alex and I were both sophomores and he just had got the starting job. When he kicked that game winner against Colorado I remember telling her that I wanted to go to that wedding so I could meet him. We broke up shortly after that. Did I say something wrong?
  15. Yeah EZ-E! Start a recruiting service and give all us Huskerboard friends free subscriptions and we will keep singing your praises. For realio tho dude, very swell job this recruiting season. I look forward to more 2011 adventures with you and my other Husker brothers.
  16. Dang! Could've had 2 honorable mentions! Exciting dude tho no joke.
  17. That statement I agree with completely. Yea the signing day recruiting fiasco that we witness every year sucks if the cards don't fall our way. I do NOT think that Owa should be chastised for handling his recruitment this way. Point #1: He's good enough to do something like this type of announcement. We obviously cared enough to let him string us along. Point #2: He was actually very respectful and told our coaches before announcing it. It could have been a surprise for everyone involved, that is a possibility. Happens frequently with college hoops. Point #3: We should be happy that we managed to jump back in this race and really push for this kid. He obviously loved Neb, and yes he may have been swayed by his mother to pick UCLA for academics, or Nigerian community, or maybe she even trusted Rick with her son who knows? Point #4: Owa never really did anything wrong in this recruitment. This was one of the nicest recruits I've ever had the pleasure of following. Do I feel burned? No. Do I feel disappointed? Yes. Disappointed and burned Husker fans alike, I ask, No I Plead, that we act like the best fan base in the country that we have been known to be for the last 40 years and do not do stupid things like post derogatory facebook posts about UCLA on Owa's wall. That's extremely agitating. We are all bigger than that. As always, a great day to be a Husker!
  18. Yeah didn't the Orange Bowl KU team have a roster full of 3 star starters? I thought I read that their recruiting was very poor when they had that fantastic team.
  19. Bo's a stud. Nuff said. Good luck Owa.
  20. Yeah. He's possibly moving to guard right?
  21. Look at the bones on that hat! Looks great on him.
