  1. there it is! i was actually at this site but didn't manage to find the camera for some reason. thank you
  2. With some speculation that Doc and the team already know the Doc era is over, it was intriguing to read that Doc was out recruiting yesterday..............?? He's not going to quit doing his job just because he thinks he might be in trouble. The best way to fight for your job is to keep doing it, and do it well.
  3. Completely agree, but I would hope this team is trending upward and by the time will be better than mediocre. The start to this season - for me anyway - has been a reminder that this team does need some serious work after the way the last few years have gone. However, they have shown flashes and there is GOOD ENOUGH talent to compete for a B1G title so long as they continue to improve... which it looks like they are doing. I don't know how others feel, but what excites me most is the contribution NU is getting from some of these new guys. It's pretty obvious Erstad and staff do know talent and will be able to get some kids to come here.
  4. I've been hearing a commercial on the radio for the past week or two about some website - I think about Lincoln in general - but they say one of the things you can do at said site is look in on the latest progress in construction of the new arena. I can't remember what the website is and after spending about 10 minutes googling have found nothing. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Last I went that way was a couple months ago and it's hard to get a good look as your speeding by. Can't find any up to date photos anywhere.
  5. You don't offer to help the program and the guy that just told you 'dude, you suck. we're firing you.' Doc will go work as an assistant for one of his pals, probably Billy. No BCS level HC of a men's team moves into the Ath Dept after being fired. (Had to put in the BCS/HC/Men's-team qualifiers or I'll get another ridiculous google search thrown in my face)
  6. That's all well and good but I don't think Wichita State would be 17th in scoring if they were in the Big Ten or Big East, etc. *Hopefully* at NU he'd be able to recruit better players so his team could still be 17th in scoring while in the Big Ten. *Hopefully*
  7. I realize you are being sarcastic when you say this. But I always find it funny when people talk about women playing men in basketball. A fairly good high school boys team--say the #1 team in the state of Nebraska--could beat any women's team on the planet. This includes women's college teams, pros, olympic teams, etc. (I wonder what sort of beehive I kicked with *that* statement. ) I would put money on the womens 2009-2010 team with Kelsey Griffin & co. to beat any of the class A boys teams in the state. I wouldn't. Have you seen Omaha Central play? I got stuck in one of these debates a year or two ago. Maybe some of these guys have daughters playing and they really want to believe girls can be competitive with guys... that's the only reason I can come up with for these guys thinking the way they do. Anyway, I agree with Darkhorse. They could outrun those girls WITHOUT question, outjump them WITHOUT question, and most likely outshoot them. Sounds to me like a good recipe to win....
  8. I hope there is a good crowd tonight, and actually think there will be. These guys deserve it. They've been through a LOT, especially this year. Heck, they've played the last 6 games with everyone talking about firing the coach, and yet they show up and give it everything, never quitting and never bitching to the media (cough, former husker linebacker, cough). Plus it'd be awesome as hell to beat Iowa yet again.
  9. They're right on the bubble, depending where you look they are first 4 in or first 4 out. When it comes to selection Sunday they select teams, they won't go in and say 'alright give us the top 7 teams in the B1G'. They have a shot, but they need to win between now and then.
  10. EDIT: Really tired of 93.7, those guys are idiots
  11. Gonzaga is undefeated and beat Illinois in a close game and blew them out in another. No one int the Big10 has many impressive wins. I understand your dissappointment in losing 3 close games, just trying to make you feel better. Purdue has impressed so far.. Gonzaga is not a terrible team, but they are not a good team by any means. All in all, very good weekend. It was nice to see the offense continue to progress and was AWESOME to see 6 shutout innings out of the pen today. If that continues to improve, we could be pretty solid. I still don't think we compete for that hosting spot like someone said we definitely would, but we should compete for the conference title and an NCAA birth. Can't wait til the first home game. This. It's too bad it's the middle of a work day, not sure what to expect for a crowd. Hopefully they continue to impress, if they do I think that Saturday game against Cal - first home weekend - will draw a very impressive crowd.
  12. Part of it is such a lack of interest. The other part is the writers jumped on this when it was a story a few weeks and, unfortunately, since then the team has not produced any other stories such as a great game to possibly turn the tide. It's a bit hard to write more than one piece about potential candidates. If I'm Tom, the lack of talk actually concerns me more than if there was rampant speculation about the program. Apathy is far worse than anger.
  13. They'd be lucky to hit 13 wins next year. They are losing their top 5 players in Spencer, Walker, McCray, Richardson and Diaz; none of the young guys have shown they can make a difference. Sure Josiah Moore hit a couple shots, but that's easy to do when the game no longer matters and you're playing against the other teams' walk-ons.
  14. So it happens all the time, and as soon as you have time to research it, you'll prove just how often it occurs? Do you see the irony here yet? Bob Huggins took his reassignment offer for ONE year before leaving just to stick it to that bitch AD that everyone hated. Nice try, though. I'll give you credit for the effort of googling key words and then copying and pasting whatever popped up first.
  15. I would miss it just as much as if the football team folded up. There are a few of us...
  16. Still got one tomorrow against UNLV don't they? It'd be great to go 4-0 this weekend. If pictching can continue to improve, this team could be pretty salty. The offensive timing is already much improved from last weekend, this whole bunting, squeezes, hit and runs, stealing had me skeptical at first because you have the potential to lose a lot of valuable base runners, but if they can keep it clicking like this it's gonna be fun as hell to watch.
  17. Your scenario, no. If you told me he'd get a win in the tourney, I'd take it right now, wouldn't think twice about it.
  18. No doubt. This won't be like the Cally firing where you want to punch him in the face as he goes. I'd like to shake Doc's hand and sincerely thank him for giving it hell. At the same time, he HAS to go. You don't recover from this.
  19. The B1G is overrated and will get crushed in the postseason... other than MSU and OSU of course.
  20. Holy heck yes. I'm all for finishing in the cellar, but for the love of pete, beat Iowa
  21. Lemke is tearing it up. Hopefully this continues throughout the season
  22. See bolded. Also, I don't know how much baseball you watch, but even the best of the best will occasionally swing their bat and miss the ball. It happens... kind of a lot. Thanks again Captain Obvious.........................(did you miss the part about just ignoring some typos in the interests of congeniality............or is the lure of Punctuation Police just too enticing?) My apologies. Not trying to be a jackass.
  23. Talley is not afraid to shoot, I'm guessing a few guys on the team have also noticed
