  1. Nice disclaimer. Come on man, you haven't lived yet!
  2. That was the second Husker game I can remember disctinctly. The first was the 95 Fiesta bowl. Not too bad to start off with those games as my first Husker memories. BTW, does anyone know the average age of HB members? I see a lot of college kids my age, but there is a good mix of some older guys as well.
  3. Was that the one with Tim Hardaway on the cover? I had one of those from back in the Sega days... Anyone remember this gem... Keith Van Horn on the cover! WHAAAT? He might be the worst choice ever.
  4. I was just sticking with current games. Does EA still make that series?
  5. Nexus, I know it's been addressed before, but are you SURE you are human? You are second to none when it comes to finding anything Husker-related. Also, I think the guy on the right can best be described as "sloppy." Nice FUPA though.
  6. They won't do that until the next generation comes out. EA is so cheap I wouldn't be surprised if they still didn't.
  7. Of all the bones that can break, the hand is probably one of the easier ones to manage as a football player. Thank goodness it's not a foot or an arm. However, he is still probably going to be fairly limited.
  8. It seems like the slider settings have to get more and more extreme every year to get decent gameplay. The whole physics engine is clearly getting outdated. All these little tweaks EA does every year don't seem to help much either. Ideally, they should start a completely redone game from stratch, but they probably won't do that until game sales really start to drop. One of my biggest issues with NCAA is the fact that the game is either way too easy or way too hard. It's almost impossible to find a middle ground. Also, even with my well tuned sliders, all the teams I play seem to be equally difficult. For example, I beat both Arkansas State and Oklahoma by one touchdown. Clearly, there is a gap in talent there that should make a difference...
  9. Eric Martin is hilarious. When asked to describe spring practice, he described it as "a lot of woofing around." I mean, what kind of word is woofing? Are they barking a lot?
  10. It seems like it would make much more sense to just send Mendoza back to WR. Do we really need more corners?
  11. After messing around on Google Earth, I have determined that the furthest place someone could live from the stadium is on a small uninhabited speck of land called St. Paul Island in the southern Indian Ocean. It is the closest land mass to the exact opposite side of the world from Memorial Stadium. The tiny island has an area of 2.3 square miles, and includes a sweet crater thing in the middle. These are the coordinates if you want to check it out on Google Maps: -38.722711,77.521219 Distance: about 12,100 miles So, since no one lives there, who wants to go set up a Husker outpost with me?
  12. But wait guys, don't forget that McCoy makes funny comments during interviews. So maybe he is better than Suh after all...
  13. I'm getting pumped just thinking about that. Definitely one of my favorite plays. I just wish they would have tried more of this slot TE stuff last year...
  14. This is the bad thing about a Bo Pelini team. Bo doesn't talk about his injured players. Allen was dealing with all of this last year? I was disappointed with both Allen's and Turner's play last year. Now it makes me wonder if they weren't as active as I thought they would be because they were both banged up. If all of these injuries are true, Allen had a fine year despite the bumps and bruises. Here's hoping for a healthy year from Allen. He was a beast a couple of years ago when Turner got hurt. However, I do kind of like that type of attitude and mindset Bo brings to the team. No excuses, even if you're banged up. He wants these guys to be tough as nails.
  15. Now only if Brent can put up that kind of production on the O-line...
  16. If they use him in the slot occassionally I think it should help McNeill get some more touches. It seems like we had a hard time finding him at the TE spot last season. This should do nothing but help Mike and probably our whole offense. Besides, we seem pretty deep at TE anyway. Talent like his can't go to waste, so why not mix it up a little?
  17. I have to admit, the resemblance is pretty uncanny.
  18. No matter what happens, DT might be our deepest position. Especially when it is anchored by Crick. I can't wait until opposing QB's get Crick Rolled again.
  19. I don't think I've ever heard that expression before... But anyways, I'd definitly choose a two loss season but with us beating Texas. Nothing would make me happier than to see those cocky horns' fans finally shut up.
  20. Man, what are those parents feeding their kids? Brian is 6'11" 265lbs and Brent is 6'7" 330lbs... those are some enormous human beings.
  21. I'm excited to see Martinez take the field, no matter what position he ends up playing. There seems to be nothing but good things said about this guy.
  22. Where do you live? Abel/Sandoz? The Courtyards? Or are you in a house? I live in Abel. Do you know a crazy kid named Mat that lives there? 8th or 9th floor?
  23. At the moment, I am thinking the social/political/economic emphasis in geography. This is mostly because I think I will end up getting an MBA and think these types of studies will be useful in understanding what trends can shape international markets. I have always been a history nerd and geography has always been a strong point of mine. I think it would be easier to perform well in my undergraduate major if I like doing it and I am good at it. I am visiting Ohio State this Friday and I am taking a look at the business school there. Trying to see if there is any added value by going into the business school as an undergraduate and taking a business major instead of a geography major and then business school after. You sound just like me. I plan on doing just about the same emphasis, but I might end up going more into areas of water management/conservation or climate/weather areas. I need to think of something quick though, because I'll be a junior this summer.
