  1. Question on recruiting: If a bar is full on interest, will any more recruiting have an affect? I noticed at the end of the season, all of the final schools are just "-1" behind me, so not further recruiting seems to have an effect. Because of this, I have realized that you can go after far more recruits instead of wasting hours on recruits with full interest. About the "team needs", I think those are positions that you actually need before you require walk-ons, because if you get your "needs" plus other recruits and only recruit 10-15 people a season, you will end up with a roster of only ~50 people in four years and your "team needs" will jump up drastically after a couple of seasons recruiting that low. Ideally, you should have your team needs players be really high quality, a few other stars, and the rest should be easier 3 and 4 star recruits (if you are a top tier program, otherwise low-3 stars) to fill the rest of the roster. Also, what does the lock icon mean above the image of the recruit when calling?
  2. The Hoops & Helmets Rankings 2010: http://cfn.scout.com/2/954366.html Ohio State is #1.
  3. I demolished Oklahoma, but had the most difficult game against Wake, of all places. They were unstoppable! I was down 24-7 at the half, but I think my athleticism won out and they got tired, because I eventually beat them 42-38. I think the CPU turned up the heat this week.
  4. I'm not sure what you're disagreeing with. Tressel arrived in 2001. From 1986-2000, Michigan was 12-3-1 against OSU. More than 16 games have been played prior to Tressel's arrival. The article says: "Consider this: Prior to Tressel’s arrival, Ohio State was 3-12-1 against Michigan" When in fact the all-time record is 57-43-6.
  5. OMG OMG OMG!!!! You're a traitor to the Buckeyes!! True Buckeyes say M******N and nothing else!! Oh shoot, you got me!
  6. I don't mind the pace of Big Ten basketball. I don't think it is as big of a difference you make it out to be. It's not like Michigan State went to the finals the year before or Evan Turner was league MVP this past year. The Big Ten has made 5 finals appearances since 2000, so even if it is slower or more calculated or whatever, it isn't necessarily inferior.
  7. Calling shens on this article. Oklahoma is not #4. The Buckeyes game of the year is not Wisconsin. It is M*ch*gan, but that's besides the point. The most difficult opponent the Buckeyes face is in Iowa City, not Madison. The article also says that the Buckeyes are 3-12-1 against M*ch*gan prior to Tressel's arrival. Even if they meant John Cooper's era, he is 2-10-1 against Michigan. Also, besides the point, since M*ch*gan is not the most difficult opponent on the schedule.
  8. Anyone in Nebraska care about basketball? We know your neighbors to the south do. The Big Ten is really big on basketball and the playing field for the sport is much more level than for football, with nearly every team being a real competitor for the conference title. Watching the Big Ten tournament last year was a lot of fun (especially the instant-classic OSU vs. UM game).
  9. The Big 12 will have to change its name, because the Big Ten isn't... And we can't well have the "Ten" have 12 and the "12" have 10. The Big 12 then cannot become the Big 10 because we already have the Big Ten. It will probably become the Placeholder Conference. As for the PAC-10, it is good that they are becoming the PAC-12, because in due time, they will become the PAC-16... Which will be easy to do since they would have had no attachment to the PAC-12.
  10. Hey Vinay, I don't think you are incorrect about anything and I think you write well. I hope you can identify that the bleacherreport is probably the most inaccurate and off-base sports website in existence, but you are merely posting your message there because many people would be exposed to it without creating your own website. Secondly, while I don't doubt that you are 15 and I think you write better than most adults on internet boards, there is something really wrong with your letter. You know how there are only certain frequencies that dogs can hear, like a dog whistle? There is something that you clearly have no perception of, and that is when you are being patronizing. I don't think anyone should really care, because at 15, you're naturally inquisitive and trying to figure out the world around you, but the manner in which you do it is incredibly patronizing and rude. The way in which you wrote the letter came across more as an insult to the intelligence and temperament of the fans of the Corn Huskers than as an open quest to gain an understanding of the situation. Try to be more conscientious when you write in the future. Otherwise, keep up the good work in writing. Understand that you are dealing with sports fans here, and Texans and Nebraskans will obviously feel very differently over the situation and that both you and the Huskers will see things very differently.
  11. Would someone like to transcribe what is being said? I can't listen to radio at work nor watch television.
  12. Nebraska will be victorious over Texas in 60 minutes, 21-20. Texas will win in the 61st minute, or as we learned from the World Cup, "stoppage time", with a field goal.
  13. ... What doesn't kill me, makes me stronger. P.S. Never eat at a stadium in Florida. This is the link to the article.
  14. ... Nobody finds this a bit arrogant? Nebraska isn't the only fan base that sells out its stadium. It's not like the Shoe, the Big House, and Happy Valley are going to be ghost towns and then overtaken by hordes of Nebraska fans. Alumni of Ohio State have to enter in a competitive lottery just to be eligible to buy a maximum of two tickets for ONE game in the entire season. The Big Ten is not The Big 12 North. The only stadium that is easy to take over is Indiana; Illinois and Purdue a little harder. It is known that Indiana waited until an Ohio State at home game to shoot aerial photos for their recruiting/admissions photos.
  15. They are like the Yankees, with that much money that they are able to spend for the best players, they should be playing in the World Series almost every year. Not to defend Texas, but this clearly means that there are far many more factors that go into making a championship team than how talented your team is, and the status of the top high school athletes recruiting wise is iffy at best. They're still growing, maturing, and getting used to the game. They could be horrible in a year for all we know, and that is quite common. That's why a lot of teams over sign players. So it isn't surprising that they haven't been the best team ever. Look at the Yankees of 1996-1999. In 1996, when they won the World Series, they had the fewest homeruns out of any team in baseball and among the least runs scored. The coaching and strategy had far more to do with their success, as most of their wins were very close wins.

  17. About party association, I think sports work pretty much exactly the same way. How is it possible that through individual reasoning of events and information, that Nebraska fans all view the :01 second one way and Texas fans another way? One side will always believe that their reasoning is obviously superior and the other side is stupid when clearly the only reason you believe one way or another is because you're a fan of the team on that side of the argument. The fans who could concede that perhaps the other team's fans are correct on a certain issue are one in a thousand - just like with people about politics. Even if they're side is wrong, they're too committed to believe anything else they hear.
  18. Yeah, the voting is messed up. I would also like to know specifically how each of the school's attributes change. Some things are more obvious, like championship contender, but how do we control academics or facilities? Also, how come proximity to home is one-dimensional of importance? Shouldn't there be people who WANT to be away from home and not just not care about being close to home?
  19. Cowherd is an idiot.... Yes....he....is.... Yeah, that's why I said "at least". I watch Sports Nation for Michelle Beadle. I like PTI the best; I think Michael Wilbon often has great insights and unique takes on situations.
  20. At the end of week 2, my QB (Ponder) is #2 for passing yards in the NCAA and my HB (Jones) is #2 for rushing yards in the NCAA. The highlight of the week 2 game was a kick return TD off of Oklahoma. I won the game 41-24, but it was much closer than the score makes it seem. I only pulled away at the end of the 4th; most of it was a 3-point game. I even gave up a touchdown on a fumble from an option play.
  21. I had the most unbelievable catch in my first game. I couldn't figure out how to save a highlight video (DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW? I CAN ONLY GET PHOTOS FROM REPLAYS.) I saved photos of the catch sequence for the game highlights if you guys want to check it out. Basically: 1) Pass looks to be deflected by opposing CB in front of my WR 2) Pass IS deflected, rolls over vertical arm of CB 3) Ball hits CB's back 4) Ball is deflected into butt of my WR 5) WR turns around in time, sees ball about foot from ground 6) Snatches ball after spinning around to grab it inches from ground 7) Runs for a touchdown
  22. Think that's bad? In my second year of my dynasty it dropped to a goddamn B Eh, If Northwestern, Vanderbilt, Stanford, M*ch*gan, UNC, etc, are A+ Then Texas, Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, and other top public schools should be A Nebraska, Kansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, etc should be B+/A- Schools ranked past USNWR top 100 national universities should be B at best. I actually want to know how the ratings of academic prestige change...
  23. Wouldn't he have to pay taxes on that? Sounds like something the IRS would be interested in.
