  1. Wasn't Franklin well below .500 also? And Dykes had a Riley like record in a g5 conference.
  2. This is you cherry picking a single arbitrary number and ignoring a lot of context. Namely being that .400 conference record in the SEC is not the same as the PAC 10 or the old B1G. Also your just falling into the same trap we do every coaching search where someone say we hired a coach and x is why it failed and so any coach who is that we have to eliminate. And then we ignore coaches like Sonny Dykes or James Franklin who were just ok at lower schools. If you know the secret formula for hiring a successful coach feel free to share it though and prove it with data.
  3. I mean if coaches were winning championships at those schools they wouldn't be s#!tty schools. That's how it works
  4. Ok you are back on the list then. Just gotta convince the boosters now
  5. Smh we can't hire Decked he just brings his friends along.
  6. Ha well I'm glad other people think so because it definitely made me chuckle when I thought of it
  7. The obvious answer is Damon Benning and he then hinted at it but never told anyone.
  8. I know people would melt down on here and he def isn't my first choice but not a single name being thrown around that is realistic has more wins vs top 10 finishing teams and that's with worse talent by far than any of these coaches besides Leipold is working with.
  9. Sometimes that works and a lot of times it doesn't. I would also wait a couple years to see because Kelly has always shown he can make a good top 10ish team but never really more than that and he is getting paid like a top 5 coach. That's what LSU looks like now, a very solid top 15 school that beat an Alabama team that should have 4 losses at this point.
  10. To me is sounds like he is just correct and now you have no rebuttal
  11. I disagree that you cant do anything about it and we are getting beat by teams that don't have amazing olines. Minnesota's oline looked like nothing special today at all. Northwestern's oline was bad and they figured out a way to just get the ball out quicker. The defense def and oline could use a little boost and more talent would mean we are beating these teams easily but I just dont think talent is the first issue right now. There are def a lot of other teams in the B1G and around the country that are already bowling with less than what we have. I dont want to keep mentioning Leipold too much but he is beating a ranked team right now to get bowl eligible and there is no way you can say they have more talent than us or really most p5 teams if we are being honest.
  12. I really don't see the talent issue that some people are seeing. We have some holes in the roster but all of the teams we have lost to do also and definitely every team in the west does big time. Pretty much everyone we have played I felt like we at least as much talent if not more. A good coach with this exact roster should be able to win the west this year or at lest be very very close
  13. I mean you can think that but that's not what it looked like to me. They were dropping passes and just looked off. We did come out looking well prepared but that wore off quickly and they had a lot of unforced errors.
  14. Yeah you can't blow a 10 point lead vs a team that hasn't won after going down 10 points in 32 straight tries. Minnesota played terrible and gifted us a win today and we threw it away somehow
  15. It didn't change the outcome of the game but what's up with them spotting us a yard or more short like 5 times this game
  16. I hate saying stuff like this but why tf is Purdy still playing
  17. I feel like the search is probably way past this point but Ryan Grubb is on a trajectory to be a HC at this point I think. Yes yes I know only p5 HCs can be hired even though the data is pretty clear that it doesn't matter.
  18. Wow he beat 2 ranked teams at Temple thats a great accomplishment actually.
  19. Yeah thats a good point. I would have to dive deeper to see how many there really were but I know Woods and that other DB that just got drafted were playing early for Rhule. I would assume its a lot of players like that.
  20. Yeah i def agree that it was not an easy situation to go into and especially to recruit into and he weathered that storm.
  21. Pretty sure Baylor got off with basically nothing. So many other schools got worse punishment for recruiting violations than what actual punishment was handed out to Baylor. He def had to deal with a brand new admin and public perception which was difficult though.
  22. I mean maybe this is personal preference but the Rhule offense is way more boring than what Leipold is running at Kansas right now imo
  23. Run the ball guy should have been approving this whole time. Outside of the Tanner Lee year its probably been since Callahan that we were not running some kind of option. In fact outside of that one year I bet we have ran the ball significantly more than passing it also.
  24. He is 100% a good coach but anyone who willing works for Liberty I would be very wary of
