  1. Would you mind saying who? I am a HUGE fan of their super-ginormous pic spreads for every game. They do fantastic work. Totally forgot to mention that earlier. Rebecca Gratz
  2. OWH for me. A HS classmate of mine is a photographer for them.
  3. Some of the people mentioning OSU in the same sentence as this mess will be disappointed when the NCAA hands down their punishment to OSU. Also, just to remind people that are still comparing OSU to USC....31 is greater than 5. Now back to the Miami bashing......
  4. So we are making the assumption that Tressel knew Monous was dirty, and that "work out some kind of job" means give my player money under the table? At this point, I really don't care what happened. I have heard so many rumors about stuff happening and not happening that I don't know what is true. He is gone and OSU will survive and move on. I just love reading some of the hate that people have for another school. It must really suck to get that fired up about another school's dirty laundry.
  5. Is a coach not allowed to help a student get a job? I am just wondering because I don't know the answer.
  6. I think the truth is somewhere in between what the media is saying and the university. I have heard enough from people in Youngstown to know that it isn't as cut and dry as some (i.e. schuhbdoo) like to make it out to be. I also think that Clarett had problems that are far beyond what happened at OSU. To lay the blame solely on OSU and Tressel for that one is hard to swallow. In the end, people will hate OSU for the stuff that has happened in the past and the many games won on the field. It shouldn't really matter to OSU fans.
  7. Watch your mouth. I have to work in that crap hole of a town. Everyone can hate on osu if they want. I can see why many fans of other teams do as well. However, I have traveled enough to see that other fan bases can be just as dumb and idiotic as some osu fans. I have spent enough fall Saturdays in Lincoln and Omaha to hear some husker fans sound just as dumb. The same goes for those in Ann arbor and other places around the big ten. The actions of few can make the masses look bad.
  8. I like Ohio State's chances in every game this year. I also don't see them losing to Colorado either.
  9. Yep. That's what I've been saying. On a side note, you don't want your school to draw the NCAA's attention and have any reason to look further into anything else. If you look hard enough at any school, you will find something.
  10. knapplc, failure to monitor the book sales is what will get Nebraska in trouble but Nebraska's record of keeping a clean house (for an athletic department) will surely help them out when the NCAA looks at this matter.
  11. welcome Not surprising coming from a Michigan website.
  12. Welcome to the Big 10. You are now big, fat and slow.
  13. TWC has caved in all the other Big 10 markets. Call and tell them you will switch providers unless it is added to your lineup.
  14. Most football players take classes like that. Lets be honest, a large majority of these student athletes wouldn't be found in a classroom if a sport wasn't keeping them in it.
  15. Yes, he is now a HS football coach in the Columbus area. He might not have been the smartest Buckeye to play but he was one of the best linebackers. Being on a list like this shouldn't be a knock on anyone. Sometimes a player doesn't translate well into the NFL or injuries force them out early. It has no bearing on what they did in the college game.
  16. OSU will go as far as Braxton Miller (whenever he gets the starting job) takes them. He is a pass first qb but can run very well.
  17. This is the difference between a successful program's fans and an average program's fans. An Ohio State fan has every reason to expect to beat every team he plays. Sure, some games they should anticipate will be harder than others, but if you don't have confidence that OSU will beat Iowa every time they play, OSU has a major problem. OSU is 33-6-1 vs Iowa in the past forty years, if I did my research right, and 45-14-3 all time. With a lopsided history like that, Iowa wins can best be described as, "even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes." Thanks knapplc for the numbers. I don't think of myself as a blind homer but maybe I am. I just see the series between OSU and Iowa for what it is.....very lopsided when it comes to the W/L column. Sure, Iowa has almost beat OSU on many occasions if that makes you feel better.
  18. I would agree. That is why Oct. 8 will be a fun game to watch no matter the outcome even with everything going on in Columbus. There will be some great story lines leading up to that game.
  19. So your offense only needs to score FGs and you should have the national championship in the bag? I think they can find a way to put up at least a 3 spot on the board every game. Almost took away Texas's shot to play in the NC game in 2009, and we only scored 4 field goals, so yeah, the defense is that good... 2009 != 2011. I understand Nebraska has a good defense but some fans make it out to be the Steel Curtain....it isn't. Good defensive play isn't anything new in the Big 10. Don't take this as a shot at Nebraska football because it isn't. As far as I've seen, Ohio State is the only team in the Big 10 that even comes close to having the athleticism on defense that is on display with teams like Nebraska, Oklahoma, or Texas. And Nebraska's defense is better than Oklahoma and Texas. Come July 1st or 2nd, tune into the Big 10 Network and watch Nebraska's defense against Missouri from last year. That was a Missouri offense who had just put up more than 30 points on Oklahoma in a win with first round draft pick Blaine Gabbert at the helm. That's a QB who would be considered one of the top couple of QBs in the Big 10 this year if he were in it. Just watch how utterly helpless that offense was against the Blackshirts. That's Missouri, a team that right now is basically on par with Michigan/Iowa/Penn State in the Big 10. And that wasn't one game, the defense did that to everybody. Look, our offense has sucked the past couple of years, for a variety of reasons. No one in the Big 10 has any reason to be scared of our offense, not Wisconsin, and not Indiana. But if people aren't worried about our defense, they're going to be shocked. Our defense is back to the level of the mid 90's Blackshirt squads, and those defenses were terrifying. I have watched plenty of Nebraska football games over the years to understand how good they are and were. Beating a team like Missouri doesn't impress me because beating teams like Michigan (in their current state), Iowa (loves to choke), and Penn State (again, in their current state) doesn't impress me. When OSU plays them, I fully expect a W. I also don't see the current Blackshirts as good as the ones in the mid 90s. You are talking about some of the best in D1 history when comparing to those teams.

Don't take this as a shot at Nebraska football because it isn't. Steel Curtain? Yeah, you’re right. The NU players are amateur athletes. Unlike some of the guys in the headlines these past couple of months. You would think OSU would have a better return on investment and win more games.
  21. Maybe so but I was only saying that your defense in 2009 is not the same as your 2011 defense (2009 != 2011). So to compare the two, of which will have played in two different conferences, is not an easy comparison to make. That is all I am saying. Also, being in Ohio and watching OSU over the last decade and longer, I have seen some great defensive teams in the past. Some might say the best money can buy . I am in no way comparing any OSU defense to current or past Nebraska defenses.
