  1. You should put this in your sig. Words of wisdom that we should all live by. no and you can't make me lol See I thought about that also about the Soonerish look but its not as bad in real life but whatever red I choose I'll be adding the two tone point so it'll look like this If it's a true candy color it'll have a different color look based off of the light. But either color you choose it'll be a pretty truck.
  2. The last time I was in Iraq I woke up early and watched the bowl game. It was a joke of a telecast by AFN. They took the 3 1/2 hour game and cut it to fit into a 1 hour time slot. So I basically watched nothing but a highlight reel. We won so it wasn't all bad, but really killed the hype I had going into the game. But was funny to watch the score jump like 3 touchdowns during the commercials lol.
  3. Man I wish I would of thought of that. 82nd to give you something to laugh at. I went through basic at Ft. Benning, GA. First day we had to tell everyone our name, where we were from and why we joined. When it came to my turn I stated my name and that i'm from Lincoln Nebraska. Before I could even say why I joined I was told to do push ups. When I finished the drill sargent asked if I knew why he made me do them. I stated no drill sargent I don't, so I had to do more. This time he tells me he's from Boulder and is a Buffalo fan. So i'm thinking great i'm going to be picked on and tormented all during basic. During that set of push ups our other drill sargent came in and asked what I had done wrong. Of course the drill sargent from Boulder laughed and quietly told him. I finished and was told to recover so I did. Then the new drill sargent told me to get down and do push ups. After finishing those he asked if I knew what I did wrong. I said let me guess your also from Colorado. He stated no, so I stated please don't tell me your a Oklahoma fan. He stated nope i'm a Florida fan, this is for the Fiesta Bowl. He then read in my folder that I was born in Mobile Alabama. Then made me do more push ups from being from there and a Alabama fan as well. I had to do push ups every day cause I was from Alabama, live in Nebraska and fan of both Universities. Needles to say when I left I was pretty strong lol. good story Thanks . I didn't even include in that story the 3rd drill sargent and 1sgt that made me do push ups a lot cause I had the same mos as them lol.

  5. Your welcome and yes I defenatly have the tshirts lol, 3 duffel bags worth lol.
  6. Hey 82ndhusker I feel your pain as I've done two tours in Iraq myself. I don't know about you but the first thing I packed both trips was my husker flags. I took them everywhere with me while in the army. Hopefully we can keep you entertain while in the big sandbox. As always stay safe and watch your six. Hopefully you and your fellow soldiers come home soon so you can watch some Husker football. p.s. could you of posted a bigger picture? lol.
  7. I love both colors. But Knapplc is right Candy Red is to soonerish, Race Red would work better for Husker tail gating.
  8. You just decribed Missouri, Kansas State and Colorado. Iowa State and Kansas are border states but generally know their status in college football. We had a trophy with Missouri.. that hardly anyone knew it existed. Guess we should have created meaningless trophies with Kansas State and Colorado too just to hold onto them for years at a time. Trophies are dumb unless they have a reason to exist. There is no reason for a trophy with Iowa. There's a slight reason for one with Northwestern but no-one would care. There's a reason for one with Michigan and Penn State based on real history, but those also need to develop further. Creating these "rivalries" and "Trophy Games" out of nothing just for the sake of having them is very, very lame. I'll admit I didn't know it existed. How I found out was playing college football by EA sports. I thought it was a made up trophy by EA sports so I had to google it to see if it was real or not. Since learning about the history of the bell, i've never seen it on the sideline during the game.
  9. The helmet is ok, don't like the center stripe though. The uniforms however....ummmm...I thought Wyoming had some horrible looking uniforms since they will look like turds running around. But who ever designed these needs to be drug out into the street and publically humiliated. Those uniforms makes Wyomings look ok lol.
  10. I don't know how the lay out of the buildings were. But It might of been damaged severly when towers 1 and 2 fell.
  11. That's what they want people to think, but we had that with OU long before UT came along. My personal hatred comes from the egos & arrogance coming out of pretty much the whole the state, which has really nothing to do with football. And, if someone calls them out on it, the rebuttal is, "you're just jealous of us". (*rolling eyes every time I see that stated*) This right here. Although a lot of KU, KSU, ISU, MU, CU fans will say the same thing about us... It just gets old listening to how great texas (the state and everything that comes out of it) is. True a lot of states has an ego and some arrogance to a point. Some are based around sports and population. Others are more based around culture and environment. But out of every state i've lived in and people from other states that i've met while in the military. Texas residents by far are the worse, even seen many texans wearing a shirt that says F*ck Yall I'm from Texas. To me that says a lot about how the mentality is in that state.
  12. I was at the Big Red Welcome Sunday helping out at a booth. After seeing some of them girls walking by. I was tempted to walk over to admission and say hi I wanna join where do I sign.
  13. Superstitions run wild in all sports on all levels. To name a few there are race car drivers at Eagle Raceway, just east of Lincoln. That wouldn't let people in the pit area if they wore a certain color, some drivers would eat the same meal every race day. I know some remote control car racers that says painting green on a race car is bad luck. Chipper Jones always puts news articles about him around his shins under his pants for every game. One NHL hockey goalie (I can't remember name) when skating to his net he jumps over every line, as he says it's bad luck if he touches them. Now for the fan aspect it can be fun and little silly. As I do not feel right if my blackshirts flag isn't displayed early in the morning on game day or if i'm not wearing a husker Jersey all day throughout even though I havn't been to a game in over 10 years. I don't think my rituals are superstitous. I just don't feel right if I don't do them.
  14. I havn't watched much preseason football this year. Brees and Rodgers are good picks, Rivers however i'm not so sure about. If your allowed Brady he's decent, but the Patriots haven't been lately what they were in the past. I'd only take him if the others weren't available.
  15. I'd take Drew Brees as my starter. I don't know how but when i've done fantasy football i've always choosen the quarterback who ended up winning the Superbowl.
  16. The big deal with this now that China has seen how we defeat radar. They could create radar that our stealth technology can't defeat. Which would mean our government would then spend a lot of money in research on how to defeat the radar again to get right back to where we are now.
  17. I don't see how a lot of them have anything to do with football. But the CyHawk trophy by far is the strangest trophy i've ever seen.
  18. I have bad news for you... Knapplc I use to like you lol. With 14th street as is my commute to and from work is 10 minutes. During the school it's 45 cause of traffic and people blocking driveways instead of being nice and letter others out when traffic isn't moving. With it going to 2 lane and roundabout i'd be better off walking to work.
  19. This roundabout is pretty confusing the first time you approach it. I've got it figured out, but while walking over the 10th street foot bridge theh other day, I watched 3 cars screw it up in a span of 2 minutes. I expect that it will cause accidents, and could really be troublesome on gameday. Without question. They've just made that area the #1 place to avoid on gamedays. And it's not so much that roundabouts are so confusing, it's that people are bad drivers. I don't have a jump shot and I can't dribble, so I don't play basketball. No skill = no play. But unskilled drivers get behind the wheel every single day, and most think they are actually good at what they're doing. Something entirely new to these unskilled drivers, like a roundabout, will only exacerbate the problem. I don't see why this city is so in love with roundabouts anyway. I just hope the one they are planning on putting in at 14th and Superior is voted down.
  20. If a religious person read that. I'm pretty sure their argument would but something like this. Without God creating the universe, world, life, plants and knowledge that allowed civilization to grow. Civilization would of never grown or been thought of. By the way I do agree with you though. Huskers created football, Bob Devaney and Tom Osborne lead us to the promise land. So would that make Bob God and Tom Jesus? Sorry to nit pick but modern man (homo sapien) predates agriculture by tens of thousands of years. I understand you are probably implying that ag predates civilazation and hence the existence of specialists (IE Priests, poets, etc.) but the truth is that even in nomadic (hunter/gatherer) tribe we find evidence of specialization. Some gather fruits and berries, others hunt, still others cook and clean the carcasses, some tan hides, some make shelter and, yes, some are "holy" men. This is seen is virtually every tribal society. I wasn't all that clear, but yes, I meant that agriculture predates civilization on a scale large enough to have created structures like these, not that agriculture predates any kind of specialization. Yeah, I figured as much, I just thought I'd poke the bear a bit. If your going to poke the bear please do it behind close doors, as I do not want to see the poking stick being used lol. I don't think Religion has always been the political tool it is today--at one point during its creation, it had to have altruistic intentions, or it would have ceased to grow. I've read some books about pagans/wiccans. According to some of the research I've done and read. Christianity use to be among the kings, queens and higher ups while the pesants were pagans. A pope (not sure of which one) went to a king and convinced him to enforce those of his land to switch beliefs. The king not only did that but also put laws in place that would make you a criminal if caught practicing paganism. Some of those laws have just recently in the last 20 some years been removed in countries like England.
  21. I heard there might be a lockout... You must have read that on a Miami Board ......... Yea I heard about that. Didn't catch everything but it was something about players wanting more money for prostitutes and boat rides.
  22. Out of curiosity, who do you think is surprised by this? I was cause I could of sworn I seen the helicopter being hauled off to an American base in Afghanistan. I guess I misunderstood the news report with that footage.
  23. I seen this in the news. According to one american new reporter there, both teams were running their mouths to each other before the game. There was even an incident that happened (I can't remember what) before the game started. To me it sounded liked it gradually got worse till this point of the brawl. The Gtown coach pulled his players off the court and left. I guess they are suppose to play them again this weekend. But I don't think that'll happen lol.
  24. The more I think about it, it's the ONLY way to deal with the situation. They need to make a an example out of Miami and send a strong message. I agree but for some reason I don't think it'll happen though.
  25. Wheres Nevin Shapiro when you need him. I hear he knows some prostitutes lol.
