let's hope that he fully appreciates the importance of his school work this semester. it would be a big blow both to NU and to CJ's development to have him go to a juco. I hope the coaches smooth it over with him to keep him motivated to do his school work. If not he may tank his classes and use the JUCO route as his escape hatch to his LOI. Can't see him doing that on purpose. Sure it would let him go anywhere he wants, but he'd burn a year playing at a JUCO where he could compete for PT at a four-year.

I'm surprised to see Illinois at #10 and that Oregon only has 11 total.

He said in this article that he'll be joining next January. I guess it really doesn't matter too much either way if he counts against this class or next year's.

I don't see him waiting until NSD to decide either. I bet he pulls the trigger partway through his senior season at the latest. He'll get tired of the process soon enough.

If I remember right we got Marlowe and Slauson both after signing day. Marlowe's at least seen the field a bunch. Slauson proved to be a great get. I'm hoping for another like one of those two.

carter and peat are both big-time targets. carter looks like he could make an immediate impact next season and peat is both a high quality prospect and a foothold for a second high quality prospect in the form of his brother. we also just got an important commitment from abdullah, a kid that was recruited by some big time schools that provides us with an additional (and much needed) offensive weapon. we also have a chance with lake (at a position of need), a couple of decent LB's, a much needed kicker and a few others. seems to me that there's plenty to be excited about. and if that isn't enough to get your dauber up, go back and look at the kids that are already on board, like, say, the two most exciting and explosive offensive talents in texas. As I said in my original post, I am very excited about the guys we've already got. it just seems that we're in on a few guys that could be difference makers at this point in the cycle, none more. Then again we're only looking to take 3-4 more, so fingers crossed for a couple big scores here at the end! GBR!
