  1. I don't get the UT either, other than we just made it out to be a bigger than life game and we were WAY too tight, from the Head Coach down to the waterboy. Just a tip, don't scoreboard watch, you simply can't compare game to game anymore. ISU was on the road as well and Boulder is never an easy place to play. Last week we were the only Big 12 team to win on the road and off the top of my head OSU was the only one this week, against a UT squad that has completely packed it in.
  2. I agree, the kid is a big time talent and when he's dialed in, he's a HUGE mismatch, but getting him dialed in is the challenge. After the UT debacle, he's done pretty well (not counting the brain fart @ ISU last week).
  3. The most perplexing thing to me last night was not how they left Martinez in the whole game, but the offense that we ran all night. It was glaringly obvious that Martinez wasn't going to be able to run like normal, so KU completely ignored him on the zone read and went after the backs and it worked. We NEVER went under center and ran out of the I, or at least not much. It seems like when our offense is at it's best, they thrive off of just lining up and running downhill, especially when your QB is no threat to run, like he was last night. Overall, I guess they probably used last night as more of a practice, to work on different things in the offense that they feel like they might need down the road, especially if the ankle never gets back to 100%. But, looking at the results, I think we may need to go back to the drawing board a bit this week. The D will need to be lights out like they were last night if Martinez isn't healthy the rest of the year, because this offense is VERY pedestrian without a running threat at QB, sort of looks a lot like last year! Let's hope last nights game didn't aggravate the ankle any more, which it didn't look like it did, he actually looked like he trusted it more and more as the game went on. Hopefully another full week of healing will make a big difference. If not, the Blackshirts better strap it up, they are going to be asked to win 2 games to get us to Dallas!
  4. The trouble with Prince and why he probably won't win it is because his #'s aren't that great. But, it's because nobody will even attempt to throw it his way, he completely shuts down his 1/2 of the field. He's a VERY special player and is very deserving of this award, but without the INT's, I doubt he wins it.
  5. If I may ask...Why? It's the name of the game, the nature of the beast. A good football team can walk into any senario and play ball. If we are healthy I see no problems with where and what time we play. After saying that we are so damn inconsistent Well let me just put it this way. If you were texas, would you rather have played Nebraska this year at 1130 or 730? I agree about the good football team and your other points. But the hostility and electricity increase ALOT when the sun goes down. One thing about this team though is that as the hostility level goes up, so does our effort! Let's hope that stays true, we'll likely need to play a very solid game in College Station.
  6. I think we NOW see how freaking good our DB's are when Prince and Dennard are both in and healthy. To have two shut down corners out there creates SO MANY problems for opponents. West and Evans vs the ISU bigger WR's was a bad matchup and they exploited it, great coaching on their end. Evans had his confidence shaken and whoever said it above was right, he's not physically ready to body up on bigger, more experienced WR's in this league. Again, Prince/Dennard is a freaking sick combo out there!!
  7. And thank God it didn't just turn into a 32-31 sig.
  8. I like them when they are at OUR Memorial stadium!! I don't like when they are at someone else's place, especially one that's notorious for being a tough place to play.
  9. Yeah, I don't like this game at all! One thing that encourages me though is Pelini's ability to really create havoc for newbie QB's. But, I don't like the way this game is setting up.
  10. If I'm an ISU fan, I love it. He realized that his guys executed the perfect gameplan for 60 minutes and probably felt like he was on borrowed time. The play was there, the pass just held up in the wind. By the way, that was the best call Pelini made all day long, going INTO the wind in OT. VERY smart move.
  11. He updated it and said that Magic was out running now, but didn't say if he was limping or not. We'll see I guess.
  12. I have a weird feeling that if Green starts, he is going to absolutely LIGHT IT UP! I think he's felt like the forgotten guy the last month or so and I think he's way more than capable. Just a hunch....
  13. If Magic isn't 110%, start Green, we'll need him healthy down the stretch @A&M and for CU and the B12 Championship game. If we take care of the ball, I could be the starting QB today and next weekend and we'd win by double digits.
  14. 45-9 good guys, I don't care if I line up behind center tomorrow! This game will not be close.
  15. I agree, we are better than ISU at every single position on both sides of the ball. If it truly was a 3 man race for QB in the spring, or even CLOSE, Green will be enough to win and win by a lot. Whoever it is, take care of the ball and let your playmakers win the game for you!!
  16. He was rocking a sweet frohawk last week I think!
  17. 1. Stop their running game cold, like we did KSU's 2. Front 4 in the backfield, once we establish a lead and ISU goes to the air 3. Burkhead with a 80+ yard day 4. Helu with another 100 yarder 5. NO TURNOVERS!!!!!!!!!!! This should probably be #1 actually.
  18. All smoke 'n mirrors if you ask me. And, as long as Green can turn and handoff right and turn and handoff left and occasionally run a QB draw or a designed scramble, I still like our chances to win and cover the 19.5 spread.
  19. Very cool read, thanks for posting that!!
  20. No, if you buy a student ticket, it will need to be validated, which normally costs the same as the ticket price. But, you can't use someone else's student ticket without validation.
  21. The thought of how good Lavonte David could be next year is nothing short of frightening! That kid can flat out play ball man, WOW!
  22. The option pass was deadly on the early EA Sports NCAA games as well, if the OL didn't immediately let the DE off the edge. Man, the triple option was hard to stop in that game, especially before they fixed it so the QB couldn't pitch the ball while being tackled. You could hang on until the QB had 4 defenders on him, then shoot a pitch out to a RB or whoever might be following the play. Used to piss my roommate off so much! God, I miss college....
  23. Don't forget about Andrew Green. We are going to have some really special players in the future. Well we already have them, but I can't wait to see what will happen. I think Andrew will be PESO back. I'm not sure we will see a lot of the Peso D after this year.
  24. NU has WAY too many weapons right now to be tripped up by an average, at best, ISU squad. Without turning the ball over 8 times at least. All of a sudden you are looking at a group of skill players that is going to be VERY tough to completely shut down. Magic Helu Burkhead Reed Paul Kinnie McNeil Teams have to try to take away one aspect of this team, but at this point, what do you pick? OSU picked the run game, look what happened. MU picked Magic, look what happened. I would hope we get up early, then cruise with a very basic offense and simply stay healthy.
