  1. I'm pretty sure Ryan Hill is not on the team anymore. Medical reasons. Yep aspeedlin, Ryan Hill decided to give up football due to concussions. He was honored the CU game along with the senior players. His loss hurts, as the TE depth is very small something we have discussed before.
  2. Well I'll start it up. We all know how big this game is for NU AND KSU's NCAA Tourney chances. It is also HUGE for conference tourney seeding and the dog fight for fourth. I'm a broken record at this but the keys as always are rebounding(limit 2nd chance points), outside shooting, starting fast, and obviously more stressed after the last game, turnovers. I like how NU takes care of the ball at home and the fact this year they are knocking down their FT's, so although I am setting myself up for disappointment I got NU by 9. Don't think Diaz is 100%, so Almeida hopefully keeps up his strong play and doesn't get in foul trouble. Always know where Pullen is and don't leave him to double. Let's go Big Red, another step closer after tonight, but it will be a fight.
  3. Had to go with Shoelaces on this one. I think Taylor has him beat in burst and acceration, but Dennard has him in the long run. By the way why isn't Santico Panico an option. He smokes them both hands down. The guy ran the 40 in 3.9, I am still waiting for him to quit being so modest about it and return a punt to shoe it off.
  4. I knew you'd be starting to get on the same page as me. backer, I'm starting to like ya because as deep the red is of your rose colored glasses you think big picture as well. That being said, I agree and nothing proved it to me ore than the other night when they put up the resumes of Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan State. All with very similar records as NU, but all with RPI's that blow NU out of the water and better wins. If NU goes 3-1 they better be planning on making an extended stay at the conference tourney because two wins is a MUST. And I's thinking those 3 wins will be VERY difficult to get. But I will always hope. I wish I wouldn't see the big picture, as the big picture always seems to ruin the party. I'm with ya, it's gonna be extremely tough to get the necessary wins. Here's to hoping Diaz makes us look foolish for ragging on him and leads NU to 10-6. Finish out the season with 4 triple doubls, Jorge! PC will really have some crow to eat then... I have always welcomed a plate of crow courtesy of Doc and the guys. The MRI deal makes he think that Diaz may be more tentative than normal tonight, and that isn't good as KSU loves the physicallity of the game.
  5. Well hate to break it to ya, but the only abilities you'd be able to check out are he looks in street clothes IT he makes it here as a visitor. He will be here this summer as he is still at Chaffey for the rest of the semestar. As for Bubba talk, heard on some boards he is up in the Top 4 players available. So I guess what I am getting at is, Ditto the Dude.
  6. This all can almost be a moot point if Almeida stays out of foul trouble and puts up quality minutes again like the Texas game. The roles of production can almost be reversed from earlier this season. I hate on Diaz a ton, and give him credit when due, and NU needs production from him, BUT I think Almeida can be the far better post presence for this team. He gives NU an element it hasn't had in a long time. Maric was a big body but he still played soft at times. There is no soft with 'Dre

  8. If Tyler Moore has a good spring, I'll wager anyone he plays this fall. The guy is physically ready and very fundamental already. If he picks up the system, has a strong showing, he will play.
  9. Also sounds like he really wants to stay close to home. Long shot on him IMO. Sadly that can be said about everyone of these recievers that NU has offered early. Maybe Beck's system and hopeful success will change that prevailing notion.
  10. I love this pic, the ref, the kid on the ground that just got burned. What looks like his mom in the background watching, and Dvario standing above him. Four different things to look at. The refs cankles appear to be as big as the dude's melon
  11. Football wise, he was regretting it the moment the second "i" in Odighizuwa was dotted.
  12. Odd that the crack staff at the OWH claims he has an offer from Nebraska as stated in the article in post #61 of Shoff's thread. He might have a verbal offer, but not an official written offer. He'll commit on the spot if he does get one! And I'd be happy with that! Ditto here. That guy that linked that article must be one swell fellow. Now did the NCAA mandate that written offers can't be sent out to juniors before September? Thought that is the way it is now, not 100% sure though.
  13. And to think that Brent would have learned his lesson about drinking on the job after his little after that football game.
  14. Suprised no one has mentioned this yet, but CONGRATS to Andre Almeida, Co-Big XII Newcomer of the Week

    1. fro daddy

      fro daddy

heard he was the first ever from nebraska to win a individual weekly award in Nebraska's Big 12 history. Good for him.

  15. I can't really say I am shocked. As bad as Texas made Rock Chalk look in the second half of their win, I think KU is better and will go further than the Horns. KU has a true post game and post depth that Texaqs doesn't. Texas more or less runs two guards, two true small forwards and a combo small/power forward. I think the Morris twins are really gonna get hot, and Rock Chalk will be the flag bearer for the former conference.
  16. I am in total agreeance redout, but like I said many had them on the bubble with THAT resume. A resume without the Pitt win as you said is very impressive. I just put that up there to attempt to temper some hopes. I said in another thread it is fun, because it has been a while but nothing is guaranteed. St. John's was the 6th/7th place Big East(best and deepest conference there is) team and yet there were skeptics. And the RPI will look good when you don't play the Jackson and Savannah States of the world. I know you want home games and wins but the noncon is a joke.
  17. 3. Best "Visiting Team" fan? Which regular poster who owes allegiance to another team do you feel is most valuable to the board? NOMINATE: HogFan. This asshat was a laugh a post. Tragicly once Charles Jackson's fax went to the wrong school of his "guarantee" he was never seen or heard from again. For shame.
  18. I doubt it. We aren't technically in the Big Ten until summer. I forget the date... It is July 1st. It is right above the countdown.
  19. The way it will go down to the final game to decide seeding, I can't see how anyone can project what would be a good seed. Personally ya want the four, get the bye, and play a semi tired and beat up team. Something Nebraska is used to being on the other side of the bye. Again though, let's get through Mr Pullen and the Cats before we get all hypothetical. As fun as it is to do this, since it's been a couple of years (07 believe) since this kind of talk has been able to go on at this point of the year, let's just temper the talk a little. As I have said before, this team is exactly cranking out great back to back performanes when excitement is built.
  20. The teams I will be rooting for will be KU- for the reasons you mentioned Texas- if Texas wins out it makes our win that much better, and a win against a potential 1 seed would be big Colorado- we need CU to win out tell the last game of the year. If we do so RPI gets better and people will notice since it is the last regular season game of the year A&M- No big reason except its a good win for us against a good tourny team and RPI gets better Mizzou- we need Baylor to be knocked out of the bubble picture since they beat us. If it came down to us and Baylor, depending on Big 12 tourny they would likely select Baylor instead of us. Suprisingly Nebraska probably has a superior resume to Baylor. Baylor has the lowest RPI among the teams dog fighting for an NCAA bith, 20+spots behind NU
  21. St. Johns is well off the bubble. With wins against teams like Duke, Pitt, UCONN, ND, and Georgetown they deserve to be in. From what I have heard they could be as high as a 3-5 seed. They could make a big run in the tourney. +1 backer it is St. John's. Not so fast my fellow Cub fan. Just last week before St. John's knocked off Pitt, they were very much on the bubble by many of the talking heads across ESPN. I am with you and I figured they were money pretty much when they beat Duke. But those talking heads are more often than not correct and believe it or not know a lot about what they are talking about, and as of last week they were a bubble team believe it or not.
  22. Name this team with this resume. They supposedly just got off the bubble this weekend and tell me how NU's resume look compared to this. Overall Record: 17-9 Conference Record: 9-5 RPI: .6357(12th overall) SOS: First Record vs RPI Top 50: 7-7(6-4 vs Top 25) Bad Losses: Fordham(244) and St. Bonaventure(103) One win vs a team with RPI over 200 This team was questionable, before a big win Saturday. And their resume crushes NU's which looks like. Overall Record:18-8 Conference Record: 6-6 RPI: .5685(62nd overall) SOS: 79th Record vs RPI Top 50: 2-5(1-3 vs Top 25) Bad Losses: Tech(140) and Davidson(148) 8 Wins vs. teams of RPI higher than 245
  23. Tis true, tis true. But it is a right to homer your own team, however for me personally reality blurs my homertism very often.
  24. Have any one on this board actually watched more than a game or half a game LSU played in to determine this "technically better" arguement. I am thinking a lot of NU fans here will probably say no. Just saying. Hard to make an arguement when one guy you've seen a hand full of times vs a guy we get the joy of watching every weekend for multiple years.
