  1. I believe I haven't seen it yet this week. If it has been started I'm sorry for being lazy and digging through past topics and pages to find it. So here we go, you know the drill. Over/Under NU 275 team rushing yards OK GO
  2. This is best case for NU. NU beats OSU and Mizzo wins. Next week, Mizzo comes to Lincoln undefeated and ranked probably 5? and NU is ranked around 12? NU wins that game and wins out, OU wins out you have two teams in the Big 12 Championship game ranked in the top 10 (at the very worst) with 1 loss each. No way! I hope Boomer beats the living crap out of Mizzou. Bring them back to Earth and then on the 30th we can continue to remind them who daddy is. I would much rather have an unbeaten Boomer in the title game(if we can hold up our end of the deal) and ruin their national title chances. Ya know kind of a karma thing for all the Sooner Magic.
  3. Oregon's OLine executes better than ours. They are constantly looking to block on the second and third levels. Their first year starting QB is making great reads. And F#$k Oregon for winning the LeMichael James battle.
  4. Then it would be just as easy to say that Gilbert's throwing ability and accuracy make him more talented than Taylor. Sorry bro but NU's Oline =<(and probably just <)Texas' Oline. I think Saturday kind of proved that and remember Texas has played teams with a LOT better defenses than NU has. And as much as I love the way he plays and the effort he gives, I would take Blake Gideon over Gomes. Gideon wasa all over the place Saturday disrupting plays and making play. He has done that ever since he was starting as a true freshman.
  5. One thing is probably for sure, the defensive communication will improve. Still can't believe I see Crick and the other Dlinemen looking back at David for their call and the ball is being snapped. This I think would even help free up David even more. Less thinking more being an athlete and making plays.
  6. These conversations are interesting. If we drop 1/4 fewer passes, we're talking about a national championship right now. Two TDs is all it would have taken, and we had them in our hands in this game. Because we had a bad game catching the ball, we've suddenly decided that Texas is light-years ahead of Nebraska? Sorry. If Texas was that much better than Nebraska we wouldn't have been in a position to win that game, and several times over to boot. Knapp --- you and I are usually are on the same page --- for the most part. We probably are here too. Texas is quite a bit ahead of NU talent wise. You likely agree (I'd imagine... though maybe not?). But I'd argue that typically Texas under-performs and the X's and O's side of their staff has not done, generally speaking, that well. Also, they often play flat and play down. They are, in many respects, like USC under Carrol --- ridiculously talented but notoriously under-performing. My point is this, NU has, of late, been over-achieving (which is cool --- being Top 10 with not quite Top 10 talent). NU was a few mis-cues from winning the Texas game --- but were generally out-classed. Football is often like that --- one team may outplay the other by a great deal and yet "barely" win. Now Texas out played NU by a pretty large margin --- not quite dominating... but close. Yet... the score did not reflect that margin so much and... had we not dropped passes NU might have won. Again... my point. Texas cannot "upset" NU... even at home and even if they dogged much of the season prior to that point. And... if NU thought they were a "better" team going in ... they were smoking crack. They were not. And... if they did think that then this should have been a wake-up call. +1 Robsker, I totally agree with ya, especially the bolded parts. If you put any kind of a typical Horn offense with this years Horn defense you have a hell of a scary team. I figured going into this they would be tough to match up with. My biggest thing this year was if the OLine had really improved that much or if we were getting the "smoke and mirrors" job. Texas provided me with what I had thought. NU is still pretty mediocre up front. The effort has been great, but I am still not a Barney fan. The only one out there that may cut it with some of the pipeline teams is Ricky. I had heard all summer camp about the depth of the Oline, but where has al this depth gone? Where is Yoshi, Qvuale? The rest of the year I see the line continue to push around weaker units and struggling with stronger ones. Yes, this team is talented and one of the better teams out there, but no they are not on that big stage yet.
  7. Offensively look for the R and R crew to break out in my opinion. I can see Wats feeding them early and often for two reasons. A. Okie Lite will continue the trend to spy Taylor to take him out of the game plan, and B. to counter act A, and to help Taylor ease into the game without feeling as if he must make every play. The Pokes are young experience wise intheir tackles, so I'd like to see some straight ahead downhill running with these two. Defensively, I will say Pierre Allen and the CamStache. They will play a vital roles of course in generating some heat on Weeden, but also will be huge in containing Hunter. They need to force him back inside towards the pursuit and helpside defenders to keep him from getting outside and busting one long. Not talking about each of them putting up huge numbers, but being disruptors.
  8. This has got to have Urban beaming. Not only does he get it for his team racking up 30+ arrests, but now bringing in a kid with a questionable character issues. Stay strong Urban you may be the new Thug U, and Randy Shannon is getting upset about it.
  9. Eastbound and Down funniest stuff out there

  10. To date Bubba has ran for 1180 yards this season and 18 TD's. He is also averaging a freakinsh 14 yards a carry. He is 32-70 passing for 640 yard and 4 scores. No biggie with the passing cause his HS Gardner-Edgerton only averages 390+yards a game running. Reminder to all, if you have ESPNU tune in this Friday at 7 and check out Bubba as he and his team take on Overland Park Aquinas alma mater of Kyler Reed and features Kyler's bro Dagan who holds an NU offer.
  11. Alright, Big Red Wrap-Up kind of broke down the QB commits tonight. Jamal's highlights from this season are just SICK!!! He is making cuts that you usually just see while playing videos games. Unreal rushes with not the greatest blocking from the line. The kid is a STUD. Also said in his game Friday before coming up here he went for 220 passing and 230 running or something to that effect. Has 24 rushing TD's so far. Can't wait to see this kid on the field next year. He SHOULD be on the field in some way next year.
  12. C'mon ya'll know it's Ticket Express. Because we are worth it.
  13. Not only did he have douche look down to a T in his interview. Wear the hat forward or not at all ritard. Also they wanted recomendations of places to eat for Kirk Herbstreet and he said the pizza joint where he got rolled and little bro got his schnozz rearranged, that's kind of funny.
  14. Guys a stud. Hopefully this isn't the pinnacle of his football career in his eyes.
  15. Throw that on top of being JUCO bound more likely than not.
  16. Didn't he official when NU was in town? Swore that he did could be wrong. I think the southern Pac10 soon to be 12 teams that he is interested in will be the bigger threat in the end.
  17. Tyler probably could right now EZ, he is a beast. Now P.O. may be big, but haven't we been saying that Enunwa, JSB, and other young kids would do the same thing in upping the competition? I would love to get a couple of recievers but personally as long as TG is the position coach, I don't really think it will matter. And by the way there is no bigger recruit than Mr. Hobbi. He's the man, come on down Cyrus.
  18. Plus I like the fact that they are starting four first time starters up front on offense and I believe six of their back seven are newbies. Sure they have played six games or whatever, but that was against teams that really have no team speed, skill and experience that NU will bring to the table Saturday.
  19. I know OSU is running the ole tech offense, but can't they still run it some too? Don't they still have that Kendall Hunter? Havn't actually seen OSU this year. That's why I said they are very balanced. You hear about Blackmon because of his outlandish receiving numbers, but it starts and ends with Hunter in my eyes. That's why I think he is their best weapon and he is running this year like he did two years ago when he was an AA. Injuries last year derailed his season. I just like this matchup for NU though for some reason. Knew Texas would be tough, and even expected the worse, but let's not confuse the Pokes D to the Horns.
  20. The way I am feeling about this weekend is the same I felt about the Washington and KSU games. While there's a lot of fret from others on the board a feeling of confidence overcomes me personally. Here's why. 1. There was a reason the a lot of people picked the Pokes to finish low in the preseason. A lack of returning veterans that had "big" game experience. Which of their victories so far would fall into this category. None. 2. They are a very balanced offense, but as Paxo pointed out which of those teams they played were the Monsters of the Midway or the Steel Curtain. None. Our corners alone eliminate Blackmon. Their best weapon is Hunter. This kid is a baller and sees to be running like its 2008 all over again. He is my only concern. Their line is young and considered the weak link. Ang these seem to be the types of offenses for some reason that NU matches up extremely well with. And the Pokes are very generous this year throwing to opponents with 9 picks already. 3. The Poke defense is bad. I like what they have somewhat up front, but it is not Texas good, nor are the LBs, and especially the DBs. Let's not fool ourselves, that Texas defense was VERY good and we will not see the likes of one again in the regular season. NU shows up survives the initial surge that will come at them ala Washington and KSU and takes the Boone Pickeners right out of the game. I like a NU win and a cover for the betters.
  21. I am hearing a lot of Mike Leach rolling about when talking the Gophers. The sad thing that is lost in all of this is now that Brewster is gone, the writing is all over the wall for the Coz. He gone. Karma owed us at least one year in the Big X to hang on his defense what we had to endure for those four years.
  22. Because they scored more? Just kidding. Lost in all the dropped balls, questionable calls, and missed reads, is the fact that we were murdered by field position. Texas is one of those teams that NU NEEDED to win the field position game. Their offense hadn't been capable of driving the length of the field, and if not for penalties, missed tackles, etc they still didn't Saturday. When NU is backed up in their own territory it seems Wats gets overly butt-tight with the play calling. NU allowed Greg Davis to open up his book a little more by having short fields, and then after getting the big lead, do what Bo and Wats did all last year, ride that great defense. I knew it would be rough right when Texas won the toss. It was a mirror image of last years Boomer game, except there Henerey and turnovers helped flip the field.
  23. As blockers as a team, no one played well. As receivers, he was open more than I thought, which was a suprise most of the game. All of our receivers broke free more than I would have imagined. So the line about routes being open was true. Taylor just missed them, some times because of the pressure and other times because he was already tunnel visioning on his receiver.
  24. Nebraska? Boring? How would you get that impression? We have so many cool things. Like...Chimney Rock! Who wouldn't want to come to a state that has Chimney Rock! Hey let's not discount the power of the Rock!! However, our bigger selling point is that waste of money and scrap iron that spans the interstate at Kearney
