  1. My vote for a guy that me thinks should be somewhere on the list but not at #1 is Antwaan Randle-El. Guy was the sheet at an absolutely crappy school in Indiana. First player to run/pass for 40 tds each. 2001 Big X Player of the Year. 7500 yds passing, 3900 running and 92 tds total. Oh by the way those numbers trounce VY(6000 pass, 3100 rush and 81 tds). All this out of the only weapon opposing defenses had to focus on.
  2. I honestly think that if we could somehow land Wayne that he could be the most impactful and possibly the best recruit of this class. We have really lacked a consistant game changer at safety since Mike Brown. The Bullocks' were close, and don't give me Asante or Matty because they were hit and miss on Saturdays. Things Wayne has going for him. 1. Florida speed, gotta love some of that. 2. Smarts, this kid is very smart, hopefully that can translate into getting the system down. 3. Head on his shoulders, a kid that takes the time to make a list of questions for coaches obviously cares about choices that he makes. I have been a Lyons fan since the whole question list came out. Then saw his film and was sold. Added bonus are his "friends" that he may sway our way as well.
  3. Jamal has said in a lot of his recent interviews that he plans on playing QB and wants Bubba to come and for the returning guys to get better so it is the best competition for him. He welcomes the challenge and it is so refreshing to hear that from a recruit these days. He also said that IF he doesn't win the job he would be more than willing to play elsewhere so he can get on the field earlier. Like it has been stated think Russel Sheppard at LSU
  4. In regard to Aaron's two fumbles, his first one was the bad fumble as you can see his head turn upfield to see where he could run before he actually secured the pitch and every RB and receiver has done that. It is a habit that big time playmakers make from time to time. The second fumble happened when he went air born at the goalline and the Steele LB put his helmet right on the ball, a text book hit. Sure he should secure the rock more but again he looked like he was prepping to stretch the ball towards the goalline. Trying to make a play. Both are fixable "errors" again he's a playmaker trying to make something big happen. As far as the weight, yes he looked smallish, but ripped. Not MB ripped by any means, buy looked good. Remember Noel Devine is a hell of a RB that takes the majority of the totoes for WVU and Aaron probably has at least 10 pounds on him.
  5. Awesome. Let's let him watch our front four make Gabbert's life a living hell once again. You'd hope that could help him settle his mind on which defensive staff will help him excell with his football career. Game. Set. Commit.
  6. I'm with sd'sker on this one. Everyones "master plan" for the QB's strongly relies on TMart to get his experience in the non conference schedule and then be ready for the rest of the year. The problem is all those schools defenses are nothing like the QB's will see in BigXII play. They are junk and in no way reflects a Texas, Mizzou or even KState, hell Washington won't give them a decent look. Cody Green looked really good last year against the Sun Belt junior varsity teams and that had many on this board to scream for him to start. TMart hasn't shown any of us a thing this fall except how some "insider's" tale of his feats in practice have been stretched to the widths of our imaginations as it has gone down the grapevine. Honestly neither TMart or Green blew me away in the Spring Game. Cody was the better passer, TMart the smoother runner. As of now Lee has the ball first drive this Saturday and I'll have to go with Bo on the rest of the playing time in the games and the year.
  7. That would the single worst thing to happen to this kids career... i like the cubs but they have an AWFUL history of WAY overusing new prospects (See: Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, etc. recently) There is no doubt in my mind that if he went there, and played pitcher or outfield... they would burn him out 10 years ahead of schedule. JUST SAYING Does this "recently" fall into the same time spectrum as Nebraska has recently won the National Championship(1997)? I have admitted that Dusty Baker ran up both of your examples innings back in the day, but injuries are part of the game and can occur to any pitcher no matter how much he is protected. EXAMPLE STEPHEN STRASBURG, done for the rest of this year and next. So through your mindset about the Cubs and their use of talented youngsters, does that mean Alex Gordan and Joba Chamberlain are pretty much done for and the Royals and Yanks are now worse since these two examples are a little more "recent." Not flamin just curious
  8. Dear Tara, Please go back to being a brunette. Signed, Me PS Your still hot
  9. Even after his strong pitching performances for Team USA this summer, I believe most scouts are thinking he will be a more productive outfielder than a pitcher in the bigs. I guess hitting well over .400 against top notch competition never hurts that thought process. Would love to see a Bubba at starting QB at least once in lifetime for Nebraska, but me thinks this may not be the one. And honestly who could blame him. But fingers will still be crossed unless he drafted by my beloved, terrible Cubbies.
  10. This kid could like Russell Sheppard at LSU for us. Sheppard is a FREAK athlete that is playing a lot of WR for them as well. If Bubba for some crazy reason decides to bypass the MLB I can see Turner filling that role and almost mold into Bobby Newcombe type career. He is just to dynamic to not find a way to get him on the field with the ball in his hands.
  11. This kid was great to watch he was one of the first guys always hitting Malcom Brown. Had good instincts, a quick burst, and was a solid tackler. Madison also has a sophomore DT, Taylor was his last name(there were like three Taylors on Madison's D so can't remember his first name) that could become a stud. Hopefully we keep the Texas connection strong(which I believe will continue) and maybe this kid catches on with the staff. 6'3 240 as a sophomore and was in the Steele backfield most of the game
  12. 24 carries 178 yards and 3 TD's as Madison holds on in the final minute to win 28-23
  13. Personally Herbstreet's prediction makes the most sense homer or not. But as usual I cant' even really go there, they've been good to us this year so far.
  14. This would be a huge get if we can pull Jackson out of Texas as well. Two of,if not the top two DB's out of Texas. However, I think Boomer will be tough to beat out with Charles. Mr. Santos time to start chirpping in Mr. Jackson's ear. Hopefully a great showing by Prince and Denard will also help our case.
  15. Green atones for the two fumbles by exploding for 68 yards to the house
  16. I am thinking a little along these lines except picture the Indianapolis Colts and what they do with Dallas Clark.
  17. His quote, after committing I believe, about enrolling early and going through springball with hopes of playing this fall was classic. It was something like "I am not planning on going up there to sit on my ass", or a lot like that. Love the kids attitude and hope to see him this fall. However, if it is for only 5 plays or so a game because of established depth on the intereor then redshirt the beast and unlease his fury next year on the Big X+2=12
  18. Absolutely amazing that Jamal goes bonkers last night after the week he's been through. Much respect for this kid. He truely has the potential to be special here at DONU. In a lot of cases football is an escape for the majority of athletes that have been through these kinds of things. Prayers are still sent for ya, J-Turn

  20. Watched Wilder and his Plant HS teammates, including Bama QB recruit Ely, get destroyed by Manatee, yes that high school, tonight. Two things taken. 1. Wilder was NOT that impressive on either side of the ball. 2. Let's keep this Manatee connection a tolling. Lots of athletes all over the field. Their D-Line was sick and their RB Blakely? is a friggin stud. Too bad Brion couldn't chirp a little louder in his ear,
  21. According to ESPNU is set to announce on September 9th. We didn't make his cut. Down to Bama, Florida, Florida St, Miami, S. Florida and Tennessee.
