Point is Martinez often makes questionable decisions. Use the WR screen game more often to give him an easy, high-percentage pass while at the same time getting the ball to our most athletic players and make the opposing pass rush think twice about how fast they rush the QB on future plays. Those questionable decisions facilitate the need for Martinez to keep throwing the ball down field. A short pass that is too high turns into six in hurry. A tipped ball at the line of scrimmage turns into six in a hurry. Telegraphing a WR screen in the flat turns into six in a hurry. You're playing 'Brock Huard' commentary and we're not operating in a bubble. We know what we have and we need to continue to use that. Screens and quick passes play directly into Martinez's weaknesses (pressure and quick decisions). Here's the Beck talking points (for the Huskerboard OC's) We need more diamond. As fans, we should question the penalties and turnovers. If we are going to do that we need to be fair and realize that this team doesn't give up. That is leadership and we seem to be ignoring that. Lot of horrid penalties. They hurt both teams so I thought it was pretty even. Special Teams Maher is going to kill me. Offense Martinez is a roller coaster, but the dude must be the calmest human in the solar system. He doesn't seem to get rattled. Ice water veins.....It's incredible. Defense There is only 1 D Lineman that has any chance of making an individual play. Martin. LB's are tackling better. Stafford can't tackle or support the corners. He's always looking for the knockout play. Our DB's a few games from dominating teams. They need a little more experience. They are in great position, but they can't finish once they get there.

We need more diamond formation. It always work in every situation.

Hey Genius, why doesn't anyone run this offense anymore? It was pretty solid and I think they paid the coach $475 that year. He also coached the baseball team and taught swim lessons.

How anyone wants to discuss the performance of the team and ignore Turnovers and Penalties is beyond me. Some get it.

Our 60+ yards per game in penalties does put us in the top 40.

I'd take Taylor over Shoelace or Braxton Miller. I just find it odd that you ask if he is as good at the other B1G QB's, but then gone on to say that he is a good a Bridgewater or Mariotta. Bridgewater is a different type of QB, but I would take Mariotta in two seconds. That being said, as long as Taylor keeps the 'happy feet' away, I'm more than happy with him.
