  1. Couldn't keep the mouse in the house. I'll ask before matthew does......'Why does he have a mouse? Where is the house?'
  2. I'll make this simple. If your D can't stop your opponents O, your O needs to stay on the field. What part of the first quarter did you miss? TM is DIRECTLY responsible for 21 points going to Wisconsin. But Beck keep having him pass even when he was clearly rattled. Capishe? Makes complete sense. Run 3 times for 6 yards and punt. Bring the D that is getting punished right back out on the field. So what's worse for the team, going three and out and putting the opponent on the 25 again, or throwing a pick and putting them on the 45? That's not counting the mental breakdown that occurs.Martinez can't pass well. He can't find open receivers well. His throwing motion is garbage. Throw to open the run even when he's already thrown two picks? If they're stacking the box, how about calling an option? Maybe even to the long side of the field so you have more room. Maybe run to the sideline, or a power run, or an option fake. How about something that might confuse them, instead of putting Martinez in the shotgun and hoping he forgets he's Martinez? You're exactly right. Throwing an awful pick that no QB at this level should throw is far worse.
  3. This is probably what will keep me on Huskerboard for the next few days. I'm really looking forward to this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is true, it's going to get crazy. But at some point the TM backers are going to have reality. He's not improving. It's time to at least take a look at Brion and see what he can do. To those that say we wouldn't be where we are without TM, I'm not sure anymore. But I am sure we aren't going anywhere against better teams, much like last year. Yes, tonights play calling was horrid (was Watson up there), but the throws were SO bad, and I was ready to really to admit maybe I was wrong after a couple of his early throws, but like someone said earlier, once something bad happens, he just seems to lose his composure and it gets really, really ugly. My God, at least give a series off and try to get him calmed back down, do something to change things up. Well if people say that, they are wrong. We wouldn't be where we are without Burkhead, not Martinez. When was the last time Martinez broke off a run for a TD vs. a conference opponent. Kansas State? His running has not been a threat for a long, long time. Sure he'll get one now and then vs. some FCS school or cupcake noncon, but we should roll those teams anyway. His running has never once made the difference in an important game. He can't pass for sh#t and has shown NO improvement. Put in Brion and have him get his experience. Burkhead is our running game anyway, and you can't do worse than Martinez' passing. Even Brion's option pitches looked better, and he actually makes the defender commit first. The big problem is Brion is going to look bad...real bad. He needs some playing time. I don't know if anyone has seen Braxton Miller at OSU, but I think the kid is going to be a star. He doesn't look good right now either. He was yanked today, but he really needs more time. I don't know why anyone would want to watch T-Mart for the next 2.5 years. We need to bite the bullet and start trying something.
  4. Sanders was a sleeze bag that had a DB crew that sent three to the NFL. Not even fair to throw Raymond under the bus.

  6. I would be if I was running one of the most powerful programs in the country and my QB lead receivers like a third grader.
  7. No disrespect man, but how the hell is supposed to get the ball?
  8. I think Bo is afraid to pull him after that 'trainwreck' last year.

  10. matthew_mg....I never agree with you, so I wanted to take this opportunity to say 'Good Post'
  11. Actually it is, why isn't Taylor developing? Thats on the O Coordinator and the QB coach. You can't coach a kid to not make a dumba$$ throw or fumble. At somepoint, those that have similar view as yourself may understand that. Or maybe you can suggest a coach that teach not to under throw wide open receivers or picks to the guy underneath. I didn't play QB in college, but I don't recall in any of our 7 X 7 drills where we had the 'don't under throw the guy that has 3 steps on the DB drill'.
  12. I couldn't disagree more. There are so many weapons on offense. The 'Magic' is gone. When will everyone figure it out? I like what Beck is doing and can't wait until he gets a QB.
  13. 1. I might be the only one that likes Beck's playcalling. It isn't his fault his frickin QB can't make a play. 2. Sean Fischer has a much of a chance at an open field tackle as I do. Why is Sean Fischer playing? I think the LB play is probably the worst aspect of the defense. 3. How much longer is the Taylor Martinez experiment going to go on? Since we don't need a RB, can we use three scholly's on QBs? 4. The DB's aren't that bad. It's the lack of a pass rush-pressure. They definately are not what we are used to.
  14. I coach football and soccer for both of my kids. The one thing that is different then what I remember is practice time. It is pretty much the norm that teams practice 1 hour a week. The more 'aggressive' approach is 3-4 hours. When I was my kids age, we practiced every night for 90 minutes. We would never get away with that now.....parents won't support it. That being said, the kids I coach aren't getting better in the one hour a week practice. In soccer, the games are controlled by kids that can handle the ball. One kid can literally beat 6-7 if he/she can control the ball. Flag football isn't a whole lot different. The kids with natural athletic ability and/or practice at home dominate all the games we play. Times have definitely changed. I remember playing peewee football in fifth grade against a kid that would eventually play RB in the NFL. Nearly every time he touched the ball it was a TD. This wouldn't have even come up back then. It's definitely a slippery slope, but I agree in limiting the kid's domination. The bigger challenge to me would be to make sure you don't lose the kids fire or willingness to compete. I saw the interview yesterday and he seems like a great kid (which means he has a good family).
  15. Haha, that would be pretty awesome. So even 63 rows up at that angle, is it still a decent view of the field I take it? Not Terrible, Not great by any means. No shortage of big screens in Memorial Stadium. Section 21 is where most of the OSU fans will be concentrated.
  16. After a huge win in Wisconsin, Nebraska falls to Ohio State. Big day for Braxton Miller. I'd go if I was you.
