  1. This tells me the are trying to build a QB room because I don’t see them bringing in this guy to start. I really hope they bring in two.
  2. What percentage of these new arrangements are going to pan out? You have to figure a chunk of them are going to be a bust. Maybe not of Sims caliber bust. I think these kids see Nix, Penix and $'s.
  3. This whole thing is a joke. It's 100% out of control. Unless it makes Colorado look bad. Then I like it.
  4. This sounds similar to what Gundy has talked about. The athlete has almost no skin in the game. If I'm being fair, it has been the exact opposite forever. What you're saying makes sense to me. They would have to create a hard line between NIL and the institution, but saying there isn't one is silly anyway. I've also wondered about limiting what's available if you transfer, but I think that is too open and would just create more issues.
  5. I think they are going to have to figure out a way to balance NIL and transfer rules. I don't know that this kind of "free for all" exists anywhere in sports. In reality, this is how life works. But even that has gaps. Often when you're making this type of money there are rules/clauses or even stuff like "non competes".
  6. Wasn't OU his second team? He had a pretty good year. How anyone thinks a lower level team is ever going to keep good players in beyond me.
  7. The score was obviously horrendous, but I’m pretty optimistic after this. Creighton was hitting bomb 3s. Nebraska was hitting none. The Huskers also missed a lot shots close to the hoop. They did great things to get to hoop, but failed to convert. I am and will continue to skeptical of KT. The way he played today is how 85% of his career had been. Get confident and then start taking terrible shots again and again. I like the hustle Allick has. I wish he could score. It sounds weird given they lost so bad, but I still think they can be decent.
  8. And get a few of the point blank misses
  9. I think he checks the boxes of what Nebraska needs, but his skill set is different than a lot of the QBs in the portal. USC seems like a poor match.
  10. The better question is probably “How many more threads like this will there be before the 2024 season starts?” With a bonus “Will that count be higher than the win total?”
  11. I might be drinking Koolaid, but has this season normalized Riley a bit? His body of work is still pretty small and seems to anchored to one QB. Kinda like Jimbo at this point.
  12. I think you can answer that on your own. and thank you!
  13. did any of the guys at Husker Online post this or just Tunnel Walk Talk? X just seems like the new “Sock Puppet” or “Aquarium Guy”.
  14. I watched part of the game. Seems to be a leader which is tremendously needed. Other thing (not related) is Jerry Kill has to be one of the most underrated coaches in football.
  15. He going to miss the bowl game?
  16. I stand corrected. It does happen. Edit: So I looked at this a little more. One never played FBS. He was on a team, but didn’t play. The other looked to have quite a bit of success at Arkansas. To scope this correctly, my original response was to one of the the worst turnover machines in FBS history could go to a lower level and “dominate”. I should have been more clear. A bad QB is not going to be a great QB because the go to a lower division.
  17. Doesn’t happen much. What is more typical is a guy moving up and excelling. The running back from Missouri or that all purpose guy at Arizona State. A local example would be Toure. Don’t hear many going down and dominating stories. It’s an assumption that rarely pans out.
  18. I suppose the likelyhood of success if solely looking at athletic ability (speed, strength, explosiveness, quickness) would be higher at a lower level. If you run faster or jump higher I guess it could be an 'easier' playing field. For example, there's a girl at Wesleyan that ran track and Nebraska. She transferred and is now a D3 national champion. Many of the characteristics that make a good QB are skill driven or even between the ears. Sims issues don't appear to be athletic related. Because you're in FCS it doesn't all the sudden mean evaluating a defense is easier. Eluding a rush doesn't become easier because you're playing South Dakota State.
  19. How often does this happen? Specifically with QBs. They go down to FCS or D2 and just light the world on fire (dominate). You're still going to get pressured. Your receivers are still going to be covered. You probably still going to throw picks.
  20. This is going to turn, it kind of already has, into a rando transfer portal announcement thread.
  21. It's more about pushing a narrative that either sells magazines/clicks/subscriptions than "reporting" the news. I'm not trying to get into politics, but that's one reason why many consider main stream media an unwatchable commercial.
