  1. Amen todd, Amen... the rest of Husker Nation will soon know what you are talking about. As for myself, I am having a heck of a time rooting for the B10 in the bowl games. I found myself almost rooting for missou on tuesday, and i HATE them. Maybe I hate iowa more? It's going to be a tough transition for me to make. Tough to go from calling it the "mediocre 11", to the "best conference in the country." I think the addition of a 12th team helps validate the league by the installation of a championship game. A clear cut, true champion is something the B10 has been lacking (for i don't even know how long.) How many 2,3, or 4 way ties have there been in the last 20 years? With the biggest loser getting the tiebreaker to go to the Rose Bowl? That's ridiculous. A Championship should be won on the field, not through the interpretation of rules and tie breakers. There have been several 2nd or 3rd place B10 teams that have received an at large BCS bid as a direct result of not having to play a championship game. I think this is a big reason for my disdain for the B10 up to this point.... Can anyone help get me over the hump? I'll get there in time, but for now I can't bring myself to root for the B10 like we are one of them.... Cuz we are not. I hope the new B10 will feel like home someday soon. As for now, time to crack another beer. We are 15 minutes from bludgeoning UW..... GBR!!
  2. Sounds like Vegas just pulled the game in light of current rumors of 20+ players suspended from bowl game. We can only assume that it is for "violation of team rules", right? WOW! U of I is to issue a press release any moment either substantiating or denying these rumors. Anybody hearing anything concrete? Anybody care?
  3. Northwestern? You serious? That's like claiming Baylor as our South rival at the B12's inception.....I don't think it makes sense. I believe I let my hatred of the 7-5, should be 6-6 Pukeyes, get the best of my judgement before. I don't think they will be a long term rival. Their sporadic rise above mediocrity may excite most Iowa fans, but I doubt that after 5 years they are looked at as more than just a Colorado or K State type of team. Capable of playing some pretty good ball every once in awhile, but lack the depth and tradition to be there year in, year out. Your guess is as good as mine, probably better, but i would say it's the Huskers and tOSU for the next 10 years.....
  4. Pukeyes for sure. I HATE them. They hate us and have no respect for us or our program. I could elaborate but I believe I have aout 350some days to illustrate what it is like to be a fanatical husker fan lving in Des Moines, IA. I can't wait for November 26, 2011.
  5. Fair, but somewhat speculative. We ALL speculate becasue 99.9% of usHAVE NO IDEA what's going on inside the team. Honestly I don't care what some little chickie(hot or not), thinks about my beloved Huskers. I don't need her approval. That goes for the general media, ESPN, bloggers, or anybody else who thinks their opinion matters one little iota about our program. F' em. Pay no attention to them haters cause we'll whip em all- words to live by
  6. I know they are not. I just got done listening to the local radio pukeye apologist losers talk about 'what a rude awakening' we are in for next year. It's comical really. They then went on to say that there is a good shot the pukeyes will redeam their season when they 'cram it down the Big Red fan's throats in the Insight bowl'...... I kid you not. BTW- I think Randle is a stud in the making, too. I'm also very anxious to see what Jay Guy and Chase Rome can do. Anybody hearing any scuttle on these two?
  7. WOW! I love hearing this type of stuff. You think Bo isn't putting this in front of his D? We are SO winning this game. Can't. Wait.
  8. And I F'N LOVE IT! Can't wait to pound those pukes next year! You see, I live amongst them and they HATE US! They hate everything about us. I don't really want a rivalry with UI, because that implies that they will win some games hear and there. I just want to smash them every year. Embarassing demoralizing losses that makes hawk fan want to throw their gear away. Yeah, that's it Iowa is going to be a slightly classier version of Colorado, which is probably why they are scheduled when they are. Amen BRI, Amen. iowa fans suck. PERIOD. If some of my Husker brethren that still live in the Homeland(AKA Nebraska) subjected themselves to the general D-baggery of hawkeye fan on a daily basis, they would understand the hate. The local talk radio(mostly pukeye's) help fuel the fire by talking up their team and generally disrespecting UN. These tools put themselves on the same level as Nebraska and alot of them put them on a higher plateau......Serious. I'm still trying to figure out why. We now have former AM590 reject Matt Perault here for the afternoon drive show. HE HATES US. He is on record many times stating that he will be sporting the black and gold proudly on the saturday after Thanksgiving. He can't wait to see UN lose to Iowa..... Sorry you Boston wanna be.....it ain't happenin.

Embarassing demoralizing losses that makes hawk fan want to throw their gear away. Yeah, that's it
  10. The Journal Star said that Ryan Hill and Faron Klingelhoefer are both juniors that are ending their football careers and will also be honored. Hill for concussions not sure for Faron. Ahhh! I see. Thanks for clearing that up. Scariest five minutes of my life going through scenario's of our 1st year in the B10 w/out Dennard and Crick......
  11. Dennard and Crick? Really? I sure as hell hope they both stay.......Could he have been referring to anyone else?
  12. You guys are okay and all but where the hell is TuffTiger when you need him?
  13. Question for ya Wolverine as an unbiased observer(assuming you watched the entire game)- Are we just a bunch of pouty bitches or did we get jobbed last night? Serious...I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around this one. Thanks in advance, and if your answer is yes, you are a bunch of pouty bitches, you can go ahead and GFY Thanks bro!
  14. Looks like Jack Trice South to me........
  15. About the same thing that happened to you guys against Texas And yeah, quite serious. I don't think we're going to blow you out, but I think a lot of people are underrating A&M on both offense and defense and if we're sharp I think this could be a heck of a game. Touche fig, Touche. I like it I respect your confidence It's what makes games like this great. I had a good German Army/Poland reference I was going to make in my previous post, but it seemed innapropriate at the time..... Best of Luck to you guys and GBR!!
  16. FYI, our horrible pass defense held OSU to 284 yards passing. OSU had 283 against Nebraska. Cool story and all aggy fan, but c'mon dude. You serious? It's nice that you have that 12th man vibe rockin and all, but Saturday is not going to be kind to you. Reading through your posts it seems as if you guys are almost trying to talk yourselves into it. Can't. Wait.
  17. Actually, the Iowa pick is not a bad one. Until proven otherwise, Ohio State is about as overrated as they come. Fortunately for tOSU, they are playing the only team that was possibly more overrated. I live in Des Moines, and I am 1,000 percent serious when i say that hawkeye fan was pretty sure they would have their shot at the NC, and at a minimum the B10 conf champ...They are a dropped pass away from four losses and looking down the barrel of #5. We'll see...
  18. Why should Wisconsin be ranked ahead of us? The've beat an annually overrated, slightly above mediocre Iowa team and an tOSU team that hasn't beaten anybody. Honest question.... Stanford ranking still baffles me as well.....
  19. All the technology in the world ain't gonna take away that carpet bro. That is some serious stuff!!
  20. I see your point. But... we do have returning for next year at the LB position Lavonte David (a junior next year), Will Compton (Jr), Sean Fisher(Jr or maybe a sophomore --- not sure), Alonzo Whaley (Jr) and we have David Santos coming in --- and Harvey Jackson is coming off a redshirt and is thought to be either a S or LB --- and another possibility is that redshirt (and supposed superstar) Corey Cooper will play a hybrid LBer. So... we have some talent. Now at DE we return Meredith --- who is excellent already and will only get better -- he'll be a junior. Then.... well... Jason Ankrah and Josh Williams --- both to be sophomores --- each have seen time this season and have not been noticeable in their play (of course they have been in spot duty and are young so that they have not stood out is not, necessarily a bad or unexpected thing). We have Donovan Vestal, Tobi Okiyemi and Walker Ashburn coming off redshirt (none of whom were major recruits --- each may be good to great, who knows... but none were major recruits nationally). So... we return 4 seasoned LBers --- namely David, Compton, Fisher and Whaley --- all know the system and have ample experience (plus there are guys like Holt and May --- walk-ons who have also seen fairly extensive time). At defensive end... we really return only one seasoned player... Meredith. Now Ankrah and Williams have some (albeit very, very little) experience --- but nowhere near enough to be called "seasoned.". So... we are perhaps more thin at DE than we are at LBer. Plus... Martin may make a beast of a DE. Final point... if Carl Pelini says we'll be pleased with this move then.... I full well expect that this will be a great move. Thanks for the input Robsker! Well, if anything it points to needing to land a top LB recruit this year and several more the next year. Personally, I think the "peso" and this quick defensive scheme has some weakness to a hard nose team that has a good OL and a solid run game ... something I think some of the Big 10 teams do well. I see some long sustained drives happening on us until we have LB's that can close the holes opened up on the defensive line front. I just don't see these quick DB's stopping the run as effectively as a LB. I certainly don't question this scheme or my coaches ... it's just an observation that I'm sure Bo and company see. I expect some solid recruiting in the LB area in the coming years. SheepdogMark My thoughts exactly Sheepdog. To be honest, as excited as i am to see what this freak can do off the edge, i am just as dissapointed that he isn't excelling on the field as a LB. We WILL need physical run stuffing, snot bubbling LB'ers next year at some point....I trust the coaches and am excited, but a little freaked out at the same time.....
  21. Great pic cmb! Being a 35ish myself i can totally relate.... My wife wonders how "we" turn out like we do, us Husker fans. Sitting up @ 11:15 on a Friday night reading message boards just geeked for tomorrow and 6PM. I think this pic sums it up. Good Stuff!! GBR!
  22. I think C Green is a TRUE dual threat. Every time he touches the ball i am scared to death he will either fumble, or throw a terrible pick. Hence the dual threat. Get well soon please T Mart.....
  23. How about an epic beatdown that makes EVERYONE forget about last year, al la 1995? I think it was something like 63-0 at half, with Ahman Green running wild. That would be nice. Oh yeah, and no injuries
  24. Sorry bro..... We were pulling for you. Always next week, right?
  25. Cacti and Po, much like our beloved Huskers are going to do tomorrow, you guys kick A$$!! Your generousity and efforts are worth more than you know. Thank you for thinking of our family and all others affected by CF. I'm buying you both a beer when we have a chance to meet. GBR!!
