  1. Just wanted to get other peoples opinion on this topis. I had forgotten (until they mentioned it on 1620 this morning) that Penn State players will still have the opportunity to transfer to any school of their choosing penalty free until late in the summer of 2013. And I know Bo said that we would not initiate contact with any of their players, but I see someone like freshman TE Jesse James fitting in at Nebraska very well. Nebraska had one of the best offenses in the B1G this year, and really only doesn't return the TEs for next year. I think we should send Mr. Kyler Reed out to visit him, but that's just me. What do you guys think, should we go after him or other players of need for us?
  2. Yeah, I agree. This didn't get me as excited as much as it irritated me.
  3. No. Westerkamp please. No. Whoever wins the job, please. While I don't dispute that this is how positions have to be handled, I stand by my statement by saying that I full heartedly believe Westerkamp will lock up that position, and fast. If I recall correctly, Coach Fischer had said as of somewhere through the beginning to middle portion of the season that he had yet to drop a pass EVER in practice. To add to that, I am thrilled that we were able to reel in a player like Mr. Gladney. That's awesome..... Steve Largent like.... Westerkamp is going to jump right into the rotation with the loss of Marlowe and Allen being hurt. Should have Wullenwaber (Sp?) back too and Brandon Knight is a walkon to keep an eye on. Back to Gladney, I think he is going to be awesome and sitting out a year will allow him to learn more about the offense and college ball so that when he does get in he will be more ready. Will also allow him more work with QB's to get timing and chemistry down. He will experience less frustration that way...vs guys like Paul, Turner, Arod, T-Moore etc... I am glad the coaches are having him enjoy his HS SR year. Kids are in to much of a hurry to grow up! I also think it's too long of a stretch to a real game if you end up redshirting after coming in early. Isn't Tyler Evans playing WR, too?
  4. I'd still take either of those two.
  5. Maryland and Rutgers to the B1G has only got to solidify his commitment even more.
  6. I think that #1 knucklehead move has been previously taken and will be for all time for when we passed on Barry Sanders in the mid 80's. Or possibly saying that we want Marshall Faulk at CB and not RB...that's gotta be up there too.
  7. Who is the other one? Hence the entirely not true well I guess that is the better of the two to be true.
  8. What makes you say that? Here you go. http://www.huskerjou.../recruiting.php Awesome!
  9. Funny how everyone has different favorites at the JUCO DT. I like Hooks, Quincy, Toby, Bradley, and then Peko. However, I do think anyone of these guys would be a great help to our defense.
  10. He and Bradley are already back home. Their visit actually ended up being an unofficial and they came on their own dime and time. They hope to make it back for an official visit sometime soon.
  11. Are you sure that he isn't coming? That's not what I have heard. I heard there is an issue and he may not be able to come, but he doesn't know yet. They both are still hoping to make it here...from what I hear. yea according to 247 they both are not visiting now, but will try and reschedule. One of the guys called him. Kind of frustrating, needed to see a game to get the real experience, visiting in December in the snow probably doesnt help our chances, but he has been in Kansas for the last few years so he should be used to it. Would have been nice for him to see the atmosphere thou. Rivals is reporting that they sorted everything out and that they both will be there today. The fact that the really stuck with it and worked to make the visit work should show that they have serious interest in us. Awesome news glad he made it. They are saying he is on the sideline on crutches and he is a BIG dude. Peko is there too...that should put a little pressure on these guys.
  12. He is set to be at Arizona State this week, Mississippi on the 25th and Miami December 8th. I like our odds here.

  14. I think the coaches were kind of planning on Brown being a project when he got here. But he showed up ready to compete from the moment he arrived on campus. He has a great motor and I know someone said it above about him and VV, but the coaches are saying that he is virtually unblock-able coming off the end. And as far as Toby's visit, he now says he wont know if he will be able to visit tomorrow until tomorrow morning (same goes for Bradley). But he did say that if they are unable to make it for their visit this weekend, they will both definitely reschedule for another weekend.
  15. Gotta keep landing recruits in Cali. Especially ones that are instant contributors. Doesn't matter how deep a position it is. If we take just one player at a position of depth, it should be guys like Priest. Top shelf! I get what you're saying...just pointing out that Priest is from Arizona. sorry. On my phone. Was replying to a different post. Someone saying Priest was a luxury and was ok if he went somewhere else cause we are so deep in the secondary. I was the one who said Priest is a luxury, but please don't misinterpret how great I think it would be of we end up landing Priest. It would be great! But he is not a "must get" because we would manage just fine without him (but would improve with him here for sure).

  17. Man, if he wouldn't have had injuries this year he could have finished in the top 5 for rushing yards.
  18. I hope you're right. It will be a welcomed sight to see. Think about this. 2 Juco DTs like Hooks and Russell/Bradley plus the young talent we already have. Combined with Randy Gregory the #1 Juco DE along with Ankrah/ Moss/ Mcmullen then the back 3 of Santos, Anderson, Rose, Brown and Afalava. Thats a serious upgrade in speed and talent. Whats scary is Brown and Gregory are bigger faster versions of Eric Martin, and Brown is great in space...we could have 2 great pass rushers off the edge next year. Brown sounds like he is going to be a disruptive force out there. Brown Gregory and Anderson could single handedly solve our problems with mobile QBs. Serious speed upgrades. could you imagine a LSU type of defense with our potent offense next year. Clean up a few things along with a slightly easier schedule. Could be fun! Exactly! We truly are so close. And I think it is obvious that the coaching staff sees it too, that's why the going after JUCO DTs so hard right now.
  19. Great post! I agree with everything. Priest would really be more of a luxury. I think we are in a similar position at RB; we don't have immediate need, but with the talent that we are in with, how can you not be excited.
