  1. I played high school ball and even had a few smaller college scholarship opportunities, but I decided to turn them down and just go to school. AND I have played my fair share of NCAA college football games over the years
  2. I'm very high on Priest, but I think we still have some very good talent at CB. Rose and Jackson are both studs. Priest is still in my top 5 though. #1 on my board. I have a hard time putting anyone ahead of him, but I'm still very high on Beau, a few JUCO DTs, and a few of the running backs we are after. He is a co-leader for me.
  3. He is a 4-star guy. Commiteed to WVU out of high school. They are very good friends And he is currently a soft commit to Tennessee. Pretty impressive offer list (Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Texas A&M as well as the obvious Tennessee and us to name a few). Lets take them both! I agree. Not sure he is as good as Hooks though. Still wouldn't pass on him. Agreed! Hooks is at the top of my board. But I would take any combination of Hooks, Quincy or Bradley. We have to feel confident about getting at least 2 JUCO DTs in this class.

  6. Haha this was great reading through in hindsight.
  7. I think Andrus Peat's thread got almost to 50 pages. Peat only reached 20...Owa finished with a solid 56 (the most that I am aware of). I think we need to get Priest into at least the 30s...you know...show how important he is to us
  8. Think we can get Priest's thread to the Owa level by NSD? We haven't even haad one close the last few years.
  9. Mark it. Guy is a good athlete but when compared to other DTs LSU gets he will not be a starter there. In fact, I really believe he will be an oversigning victim in the end. Just a hunch. I think he is very talented and very well could find himself contributing in the field at LSU (could have done the same thing for us). But I'm not going to get too worked up over it, he simply didn't fit our culture.
  10. Being that I am the only one who thinks that Els needs to go, I can own up and say that my opinion was wrong. I still think he has much to prove though.
  11. The recruiting coordinator part is off base. And I think recruiting is what he has done best. But I'm just not certain is has been him verses our Ohio connection that has done well for us.
  12. Haha...who doesn't love Quailman? But really I am quite calm. I just am not too fond of Nebraska being a project school for coaches. And when these projects are not successful, we need to move on. And in my opinion, I have not seen Els bring anything to the table.
  13. I didn't even bring Maher into the question because I don't think that is Els's fault. But finding one player on your team that can catch a punt? Yes, that lands squarely on his plate. And which linebackers are having a standout year? Yes, Compton leads the team in tackles. But your linebackers need to be your leading tacklers. Our Safetys are our number 2 and 3 on the team. And Els is a "notoriously awesome" recruiter? Says who? Please give me some examples.
  14. I agree, I think it was a touchdown as well. But it was ruled a fumble, so you need clear evidence to over turn it. There was not clear, 100% evidence to say that it was a touchdown by watching the replay. The refs made the right call on the review given the situation.
  15. In my humble opinion, Ross Els needs to go. He is the special teams coach, linebackers coach and the recruiting coordinator and he isn't getting the job done in any of his areas. Our special teams are absolutely horrendous; we can't even field a punt! I have never seen any other team have as many issues with that as we do now. He was blessed to have Levonte at LB last year, but other than that our linebackers have been a weak point of our defense. Honestly. recruiting has been alright the last couple of years. But we have struck out on some big targets that we have needed to bring in. There are plenty of coaches out there that have a better resume than Els and could do a better job. I'm not trying to troll, or anything like that. I just have thought this for the last few weeks now and I want to know if anyone else out there agrees with me.
  16. No surprise here. Hope he finds what he is looking for there.
  17. I don't understand, are people upset with our current running backs system?
  18. I totally agree shark. It looks like he does everything well but he is not exceptional in any one skill set. I have only seen this one highlight film of him though. I would really like to see his senior film. I always think back to Abdullah and Heard when I see these soph and jr. highlights. With both of those guys I was really unimpressed when I saw those early highlights but I was blown away when I got to see how they improved by their Sr. season. I am hoping this is the case with Taylor and I am sure the coaches have seen him in person this year or at the least have some Sr. film. Like someone else said these coaches seem to have a knack at finding talent at the rb position. Thought the same thing, as I was watching it. Maybe he just can see where the opening are going to be, ahead of time. Earlier post on here said that early playing time as a freshman, may persuade him. Don't know what first year players he is talking about. Haven't seen this staff, really give any freshman much time, or very little, other than lining up to throw a block. GBR!!! Rex Burkhead, Ameer Abdullah, and Imani Cross all say hello. 365 yards rushing between freshman running backs last year and this year Cross has about 250. Cross doubly says hello

  21. Is Rivals suddenly in love with us?!? We land Gregory and they bump him up. Now we start recruiting Lavon and get him for a visit and they bump him too. Or maybe our coaches just know what they are doing when it comes to recruiting... Also, I wouldn't mind taking him plus Quincy for next year and even Toby for the following two years. IMO, you just can't turn down this kind of talent.
  22. Must be, i know alot of people, myself included, saw him moving to saftey. He has the size for it. CJ would be a little undersized for saftey, but wow would that give us some athletes out there. Now that I think about it, it wouldn't shock me to see Rose at a safety spot. If you think about it, he's been at the school for a season now. He can see Green/Mitchell/Jackson/Seisay/Jean-Baptiste/etc all fighting for those two spots (Since Evans has the nickel locked down). If Joseph comes to him and says "You'd make a great safety. We don't have much of a depth chart there right now, so you could play/start next year" That has to make some sense to the kid, even if his heart is set on CB as opposed to waiting 1-2 years to work into a rotation. (Of course this is all being said without any knowledge of how good he looks at CB. He may be the next Prince A. for all I know) Joseph has said that Rose is a great talent and if he was available this season he would be starting.
  23. I'm right there with you...I truly don't understand why people are thinking that Penn State will this game. I think we win big.
  24. I think he will fit in here just fine That's one of the best quotes I've heard from a player. Looks like we will end up with at least one more JUCO d-lineman...and that sounds like success for us next year!
