  1. Remember walk-on Matt O'Hanlon? Dude was very productive his Jr and Sr years at Nebraska playing safety. If you have a good DC you don't have to be overly athletic to play safety.
  2. Time will tell but the portal for Nebraska has been more positive than negative this year. The only guy who left that was key is AM but I think we upgraded. We also upgraded on Rogers and Payne. Also have a few previous years guys who could start like Martin and Johnson. Casey Thompson: Starting QB Ochaun Mathis: Starting DE/OLB Trey Palmer: Starting WR Devin Drew: Starting DL Timmy Bleekrode: Starting Kicker Brian Buschini: Starting Punter Chubba Purdy: Backup QB and will start when CT leaves Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda: Backup WR that will see a lot of PT if healthy Kevin Williams: Backup OL that could break into a starting spot Hunter Anthony: Backup OL that could break into a starting spot Tommi Hill: Backup DB that could break into a starting spot Omar Brown: Backup DB that could break into a starting spot
  3. Wynn is currently on a visit to G Tech and one of their writers put in a crystal ball to GT...just need to make sure he visits here. Outside of proximity we should be able to beat them. It sounds like we are more interested in him than Kaine Williams currently because of roster spots. Omar Brown is also having back issues and may not be a full go this year. Slated to play CB.
  4. I'd rather take Wynn than Goods. 5th year Bama kid - they have 14 DL schollies and some solid veterans still on the team. Frost doesn't have time to waste. Need someone who can play this year.
  5. I don't see why people see it this way. JoJo and Kolaravic are the same height, weight, and athleticism. You think Gifford is faster than Kolaravic? For reference JoJo ran a 4.63 at the combine.
  6. Kaine Williams might be a good pickup based on our roster at safety. Buford should be solid (hasn't played yet). Farmer is very iffy. P Gates never panned out. Might need to move Gifford there and let Kolaravic play nickel. Singleton hopefully can pick up his play and could challenge Farmer. Wright and Bretz have injury/health issues.
  7. Sacks Wisconsin: Nick Herbig 9 Iowa: Lukas Van Ness 7 Iowa: Joe Evans 7 Minnesota: Thomas Rush 5.5 Nebraska: Garret Nelson 5 Tackles Iowa: Jack Campbell 140 Nebraska: Luke Reimer 108 Iowa: Seth Benson 105 Nebraska: Nick Henrich 99 Northwestern: Bryce Gallagher 90 Interceptions: Iowa: Riley Moss 4, Jermari Harris 4 Purdue: Cam Allen 4 Wisconsin: John Torchio 3, Collin Wilder 3 Purdue: Dedrick Mackey 3 Minnesota: Tyler Nubin 3
  8. I feel we now have a good enough staff to get the job done where as in the past I didn't feel this way. I would say that our OL coach is TBD. Only other iffy one to me is Dawson but he proved to help the OLBs, we will see how he can recruit and coach the DL.
  9. He's from St. Louis and played with CT... Now is a SR 2021: caught 18 passes for 277 yards and 2 touchdowns
  10. My favorite thing on Drew: Drew logged over 900 snaps in Lubbock and did not miss a game in two seasons.
  11. Yes, but I think we will see many different rotations. Lots of times last year we had Nelson and Tannor in there with only 2 interior DL - so it matters less on actual NT than it did year 1 under Chins.
  12. Need 1 more DL: Jermayne Lole Joseph Evans Stephon Wynn Lamar Goods
  13. Mo Washington showed up late and played well for a true freshman I thought. I don't think he got to campus until August if I recall. I think if you play DL it matters a lot less. More about talent. If kids get here around May 20th then that is 3 months at least.
  14. I agree IF we stay healthy. Without Teddy and Turner (I'm sure they will be back and fine) we would be horrible.
  15. Lovell from ASU battled for OG last year off/on and then they added a portal OG so he is bouncing. He has the body type that could also be a RT. Originally from Colorado
  16. Said that when we got him...next
  17. Loyle Drew Evans Goods Wynn
  18. 2021 Stats: Nelson: 57 tackles, 11.5 TFL, 5 sacks Tannor: 33 tackles, 5.5 TFL, 2 sacks Mathis: 45 tackles, 7 TFL, 4 sacks
  19. Hopefully 3rd and longs are a positive this year. We have some guys to finally get after QBs 3rd and 10 I'd go a 4-2-5: Mathis, T Rob, Nelson, Tannor
  20. Wandale would have been a 5th round pick if he stayed. Unfortunately we wanted him more at WR but our RB situation when he was here was abysmal.
  21. I wonder if the staff sees Tannor as a rotation guy now?
  22. Devin Drew and one other DL is still very important. Our DL is crazy thin right now
  23. Wonder what we are saying we will shell out for the 25th overall transfer....
