  1. Dude... No one is saying it's GOING to happen. Nor are they saying Nebraska is trying to change the Big 10 traditions to align more with our own. They are just stating that, because we have SO much history with Oklahoma, and there has been some "off" match-ups in the Rose Bowl in recent years, it would be really cool (from the Husker fan perspective), if a Husker-Sooner Rose Bowl match up was to happen. Really? I would hope Big 10 fans would realize this too. Nebraska vs Oklahoma is not only a Nebraska tradition...its a College Football Tradition. Now that this games is going to be played VERY RARELY, you take advantage of it whenever you can. Who cares if it disrupts the Rose Bowl and the B1G vs Pac 12 tradition. Nebraska vs Oklahoma is bigger and more important than that. The Rose Bowl could hypothetically play B1G vs Pac 12 every year for the next 100+ years. Nebraska vs Oklahoma might happen 2-3 times the next 100 years. You play NU vs OU in the Rose Bowl. Didn't catch that, my mistake. I'd be on your side when it comes to this statement Badgerfan. Again, the Nebraska-OU rivalry is of course bigger and more important to Husker/OU fans. I'm still saying the OP was posting more along the lines of "if there is a deviation from the standard Rose Bowl match-up, it would be really cool to see Nebraska-OU, since that match up will be very rare from now on". Looking at it from a Husker angle, you can see where he/we would be excited if this were to happen.
  2. Minus Corell Buckhalter fumbling on the goal line?......twice....... Wow, there's a name I haven't heard in a while. That was one LARGE I-Back. Between him and Dan Alexander, I can't believe more people didn't get hurt going heads up with those two.
  3. how the heck would anyone know if these facts are true? i don't doubt you, but would like to see how you can even find this stuff. Valid question, http://www.jhowell.n...es/Nebraska.htm and for the rest of you junkies that haven't seen it http://football.stassen.com/records/ as far as the green part? That took a while....I get bored. The only way I can think of to verify this stat, is to go season by seaon, game by game, and look up every team's colors... If this is how it went down, I admire the dedication and patience, sir. That is impressive.
  4. haha Agreed. That'd be pretty Awesome to see on the little ESPN scoreboard on the TV: MSU ǀ 3 N ǀ 24 Works for me... Any takers?

  6. The one upside to this projection, is that it has us as the #2 from the Big 10. Gotta find the positives, right?
  7. We'll have to get used to the SEC, I believe. Looking at the bowl match-up list ( conference vs. conference), there are quite a few B1G Vs. SEC games.
  8. Pressure. There has to be pressure on Cousins from the 1st snap. I don't think our secondary has been playing that bad, but I think if Cousins has time and gets comfortable, he's good enough to tear them up. Keep the pressure up on D and stay with the same gameplan offensively as we had against Minnesota. I think we've got a good shot this weekend.
  9. The stakes were high either way, I believe. An MSU win or loss against Wisconsin still results in the situation for us: Need to beat Sparty to keep our B1G Title-Game chances alive. Same goes for (I hate myself for saying this word) "Farmageddon", unless of course, us or Iowa loses a conference game before then. Nationally, yes, The MSU game this weekend became a bigger deal, but for Husker Nation, it was going to be a "win to stay in the fight" situation either way. Unless, of course, they aren't just looking at the division record when determining who goes to the CCG and it's based on the overall conference record. In which case, please ignore my entire post. Either way, point is, we have to run the table from here out to have a shot at a Conference Title- stakes are high every Saturday... Ok, now I'm done
  10. Though we don't have many home games left this season, I thought this may be a good idea... I've noticed that every week we play at home (especially this season, being in a new conference with Lincoln 1st timers every week), there is a thread similar to this one, started by a fan of which ever team is visiting that week. Maybe we could create a sticky (I think that's what it's called... One of those threads that is always at the top of the main page) that contains all that info they keep asking for.... Things like Must See Attractions, Good Bars, Parking info, etc... Being a Husker fan from California who hasn't made the pilgrimage to Memorial Stadium, I wouldn't be able to contribute, but if any one would like to take the initiative, I think this would be pretty helpful to visitors to Lincoln
  11. I'll say under, TM still doesn't throw well but he is better getting better about throwing picks. Over/Under on Lavonte tackles at 9 Over on the tackles for David. O/U false starts on our Oline - 5 Under. They seem to have been better thus far this season O/U Carries for Burkhead -20
  12. 1. Maher - I can't remember the last time we didn't have a GREAT kicker. Of course, I'm only 23, so I wasn't around for as much as some of you. I was a little concerned about this coming into the season, simply because replacing a leg like Henery is near impossible. I'm not saying that Maher is as good as Henery (yet), but after seeing the first 3 games, I'm not worried about our kicking game hurting us at all. 2. Abdullah - Can this kid fly or WHAT?! Yes, he's young and has a lot to learn still, but I am very excited to see how he develops over the next few years. I would love to watch defenses try to come up with a way to effectively cover a Husker backfield With Martinez, Burkhead, and Abdullah on the field at the same time
  13. Being out here in the Los Angeles area, we've grown used to only getting to see a couple games a year. I changed cable provider to Verizon (because they have BTN), and now I won't miss a SINGLE down, all year. Like a dream come true in this household!
  14. Both teams would be 12-0, not 11-0 My mistake, sir. Either way, Game of the century revisted? Would love to see that.
  15. I can't get that thought out of my head. 12-0, B12 Champion Nebraska gets shut out of The Dance for BSU/TCU. I know there's a lot of ball left, and anything can happen. Obviously we have to run the table either way, but I'm really looking forward to/hoping for the Nuclear war that is 11-0 Huskers V. 11-0 OU. What a perfect story that would be (for both programs)
  16. While it's in no way an official poll, "BJ" on the CBS college football wrap up show just put us at #3 in HIS poll this week. Let's hope the rest of the voters eel similar!
  17. Romey talking about us on the radio. "Texas will leave Lincoln with cleat marks up their backs." Good to be back to what Husker Football does best!
  18. HAHAHA, even with out the big splash, this thing is still pretty funny. It was the splash that had us rolling when we saw it last year But, good find, nonetheless. I been looking for two months and couldn't find it! Thank you!!! Oh, BTW... IT'S HUSKER GAME DAY!!!!!!!!! GBR!
  19. To this day, still has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Some one (I don't recall who) posted a GIF of Maverick throwing a picture of Mangino off the back of the aircraft carrier and making a HUGE splash.... Can any one repost in a reply or tell me where to find it? My dad is dying to see it again!

  21. For me, it's simple. Freshman qb playing his first road game in a hostile enviroment. How can you not be nervous about that? That freshman is very fast. 37-7 NU. Mixing/stirring the right now. When you're done mixing, send a glass my way please sir, I need it at this point! Almost game time fellas! GBR
  22. I think that's where a lot of my queezyness (is that a word?) is coming from. I also haven't been too pumped on on defensive line play the past couple of weeks. I was expecting a lot more intensity coming into this season. Maybe today will be their break out...
  23. First time post, hope I don't step on any toes here this close to game time I drink as much of the kool-aid as the next Husker, and have visions of the Fiesta Bowl like a lot of people on the board.. Why are we (I'm REALLY nervous) sweating out a game against an unranked opponent as much as we are this week? I know Locker is good, they have good recievers, our unknowns on defense and the inexperiance of Martinez are all valid reasons to give it a second look. That doesn't change the fact that our Top 10 Huskers are playing an unranked team. Any thoughts? -GBR
