  1. They've had 2 good plays. It happens. They've gotten further with BS penalties than with actual earned yards.
  2. It seems like every game we've had the past 2 years when someone from the other team did that they lost.
  3. I'm guessing your wife wouldn't be happy if you risked both of your lives to make it to a football game.
  4. Dude. IIRC you didn't go to the UCLA game because your wife didn't like Bo.
  5. NOONE IS SAYING OTHER RACES DON'T MATTER. Well that is what is implied by the title of this movement. So I guess we should just have additional movements called "Hispanic Lives Matter," "White lives matter," and "Asian lives matter?" It's comical to me that Progressives claim to own the rights to be the movement for diversity and inclusion, yet they are adamant about pitting races against each other to stir up conflict. No, it isn't. What is implied by the title is that Black lives don't always seem to matter and it needs to change.
  6. Yes But he didn't say that. The term he used was not in his authority... and if the prosecutor does not know what his own authority is then that is very troubling. IDK, but I think you're making a mountain of a tweet by a sportswriter that was summarizing. One would think the prosecutor would know if he has enough evidence to build a case. I'd rather we not waste resources and throw every single case in front of a jury. If the sportswriter was summarizing and the prosecutor did not actually say that then OK. But that's the way it's being "reported"... for whatever something being reported by a reporter is worth... LOL No, that is actually what he said. I know I wouldn't want to be raped in Lincoln. Only 15% of reported rapes actually end up with charges filed and someone convicted. 15! You take into account how many go uncharged, and I could see how a rape victim in Lincoln would feel hopeless. Once again I'm not taking sides... I have no idea what happened... but with that said... Many people here should not... under any circumstances... read what the Lincoln paper had to say today about this incident. You might not like what you read. That would be what the Lincoln paper said... not me. I've been a Nebraska football fan for a long time... I support the team... but this makes my head hurt. The article only shines light on how the process works in general, which I agree doesn't make me thrilled. But what happened in this case isn't special or any more troubling than an accusation made about a "normal" person. Quote: "I believe the victim" (Lincoln police chief Jim Peschong) Quote: "Yes, that is correct." (Lincoln Police chief Jim Peschong when asked if there was an indication that something questionable had happened) Looks like a cover up is fully under way. It only looks like a cover up if you're an idiot. An objective look at this by any intelligent person would ring alarm bells. We have a prosecutor who has anointed himself judge and jury and swept the incident under the rug (cover up) and we have a police chief who is an intelligent person and who's statements would prove the prosecutors decision to be false. The police chief's statements prove that an intelligent person looking at this would and could side with the victim. You know, like someone sitting on a jury. That's what the cover up is about and what they appear to be attempting to stop from happening. So now you know exactly what happened. You should use this talent.
  7. I don't think your quite grasping what I'm saying here, a win on Friday will be a ton of fun, and if all you're concerned with is partying at the bars Friday night, then it will be perfect for you... I'm complaining about the sentiment of the board regarding this season as a whole. If a poll were created asking "with a win over Iowa, will you be satisfied with the 2015 season?", a significant portion of this board answers yes, IMHO... I've certainly enjoyed all of the wins, but the program is abysmal, right now, ranks with some of the worst seasons of the past 30 years or more, I'm not sure how that apparently isn't concerning to you, or how people can possibly state that we are close to relevancy again. If you have missed this point of view somehow, please refer to the grading this season thread, it is particularly disturbing. Why don't you go ahead and make that poll instead of making stuff up.I can read the board just fine, I don't need the poll. Feel free to create it if you think the results will be contrary to what the recent discussions on this board have shown me.You might be able to read the posts on the board but you are incapable of interpreting them. I have seen the grading thread and you're making up your own definitions for the grade and ignoring what people are actually saying. I said I'd give the season a B- if we win out. But I'm not at all satisfied with a B-. In fact I'm not satisfied unless we get an A.

  9. What a load of BS. You are now embarrassed for us. You are such a sympathetic human being. Pardon me but there is no need for you to be embarrassed got me because I choose to see beating top ten teams as not just good for the team but....psssstttt.....it's even fun as a fan. You should try having fun as a fan sometime. I think you will like it. I think it would help with the horrible misery you must live with. Sorry, I misworded that a bit didn't I, not embarrased for you, embarrassed to have fans who are satisfied by this mediocrity. Embarrased OF them is probably a better way to word it... Again, those fans don't exist. You're pulling this out of your ass.

  11. Nobody is saying or thinking this stuff. You're pulling it out of your ass. There are some of us, however, who don't feel the need to piss and moan 24/7. The season is what it is. We're hopeful about winning tomorrow and winning the bowl game and improving next year.
  12. Buck naked. My old man will be wearing a willy warmer.
  13. And even though it wasn't always fair it's a part of why college football was/is my favorite sport. You HAD to go undefeated or get lucky. Every single game was a must win game. I love/loved that.

  15. Umm...but everyone's life does matter, and it's not a competition to see who has had the worst upbringing or challenges to go through in life. I have white friends that have had massive struggles in life due to health issues but also to abuse, and many of these challenges cross racial and ethnic lines. To single out one race and suggest other races suffering is not as important does not pass the common sense test for most Americans. Blacks who are continuing to play the victim card in the 21st century when we have a black President and have seen so many blacks have success actually goes against everything that prior generations in the civil rights movement stood for. I'm not saying there are not cases of racism still present in this country, whether its whites against blacks, blacks against whites, or some combination of other races...it's there, and always will be. But if the black community really want to improve the lives for all blacks, their energy would be better directed at understanding the root cause of why blacks have a higher percentage of poverty and unemployment, why so more black households are without fathers, etc... The point isn't to say only black lives matter. It's to draw attention to negative issues they face at a far greater rate than do non minorities. The all lives matter sh#t is stupid. That's a given that doesn't need to be stated. People who are blind to the fact that blacks face things that whites don't (at a much greater rate) are being willfully ignorant. To deny it is to deny facts. Listing off a few successes like Obama is something called anecdotal evidence. Unfortunately, successful blacks are an anomaly. And they undoubtedly face more racism than their white counterparts. All of this is not to say there aren't idiots involved with that organization.
  16. The coloring of the map isn't relevant. It's not connected in any way to the percentages. It could be that no Nebraskans think the program is relevant but some people in other states do think Nebraska is relevant and even it out. Who knows, 'cause it's a terrible graphic. I think it's just supposed to be funny. Are you sure? Maybe you're right and I'm just being an imbecile, but, I thought those maps usually show where the largest percentage of people saying 'yes' or 'non' hail from. Actually no, what I said was wrong. I didn't see the "mouse over the results" part until now because the link to the graph isn't actually there. I don't know at what % it changes color. Probably 50%. So over 50% of Nebraskans think we're relevant and for all other parts of earth less than 50% think Nebraska's relevant.

  18. That's neat. Thing is, this question can't be asked about Iowa because it has the word "still" in it.
  19. Amen. Time for Cross and Andy Janovich to carry the ball 30x each and pound the rock. This is the strength of Iowa's defense. We want good weather on Friday. Bad weather hurts us a bit more than it hurts Iowa.
  20. It's the prosecutors job to look at the case to determine if there is enough evidence there to file charges and secure a conviction. If not there would be so many cases going to court it would be insane and also a waste of tax payers money. Sure, they could've worded it differently, but regardless, there wasn't enough evidence to proceed with charges apparently. But the prosecutor did not say there was not enough evidence. He used the term "beyond a reasonable doubt" which would imply that in fact there was evidence but that he made an assumption on how a jury would decide, even though that's not his job... that's a jurys job. That type of action by a prosecutor should be troubling in any case... this one or any other case. I'm sorry but that's not how it works. Maybe ideally that's how it should work but it's not. Most cases don't actually go to a trial before a jury, regardless of whether they involve high profile defendants or not.
  21. Were they asked to do that? (I didn't watch the last Republican or Democrat debates). If not, I don't see why they'd just blurt that out randomly.
