  1. Only if the sources about the harshness are PSU people who think any punishment is terrible. I have no idea who the sources are though. Edit: just looked and it's "a high-ranking association source" I really doubt it's going to be that minor.
  2. Every time I hear that I'm thinking... every hour/minute/second that he decided to not do the right thing after 1998 or 2001 was another mistake. Thats just what that Penn State fan said during his interview. May the NCAA ruin that program. Ya I know. I guess I should have quoted that differently, heh. I can edit it

  4. what's that got to do with the price of tea in China? And ask Stewart Mandel, he's the one that wrote it; I simply said its a better argument for the guy in my original post as an argument for the NCAA not getting involved with criminal cases that are outside its intended control (which is what he was attempting to argue the UVA case with). And I replied like I did because it's still a bad argument. *shrug*
  5. I just don't see that as a school trying to get a competitive advantage, that is a school trying not to be placed at a disadvantage (and not just for football, the entire school would have been cast in a bad light--albeit not as bad as it is now which is of course the school's fault). I honestly see the two things as equivalent in this situation. They did the wrong thing to protect their reputation. It's an advantage over the situation they assumed they would have had if they did the right thing.
  6. Was that player going to be there for the next 13 years murdering more people?
  7. Iowa reminds me exactly of Colorado too, but then I started getting obsessed with football in 1992, when Colorado was a very good team. Don't assume that our most predonimant thoughts on a team come from what they did last year. Also, he's clearly talking about fan bases, not how good the teams are. As for games I look most forward to, it's Wisconsin and Michigan. It's normal to want revenge on the teams you lost to last year. Iowa lost a lot more games though so it's still more interesting that they picked us.
  8. There is no good black and white argument for whether the NCAA should be involved or not. The major players at the university and in athletics likely did what they did because they were worried about how the news would effect recruiting. In that case the NCAA should get involved. At the same time, those people are all gone now.
  9. No, he hasn't. Unless you're counting throwing a ball around in the backyard.
  10. This will be (if I'm remembering correctly) his 4th year of playing quarterback. This isn't like trying to change the throwing motion of someone who played QB 4 years in high school and more before that. His motion also changed (for the worse) when he had the ankle injury and turf toe. It's understandable that they didn't work on it last off-season, when he was likely still feeling the injuries and had to throw differently to compensate.
  11. I'm not too worried, but I did see that USC and Stanford haven't offered him.
  12. I could likely respond to every example you provide with an example of a job that was done in the U.S. and doesn't need to be done in another country for reasons of locality. For example "World's biggest oil company ExxonMobil is in talks with India's top technology firms and multinational vendors for outsourcing of several IT contracts worth up to $1 billion. " ^Nothing to do with location And most of Mastercard's outsourcing (i.e. customer service) isn't done because they need people on location. I obviously wasn't speaking of on-location jobs. That's not outsourcing. You're overlooking or ignoring my point again. You said, sarcastically, that of course they're against U.S. jobs. And I'm saying, again, that what you said sarcastically is actually not far from the truth. I'm sure they're not actually opposed to the creation of U.S. jobs in general, but they are if it lowers their profits. Those organizations you listed should be concerned with the U.S. economy and U.S. jobs, but their boards and committees are filled with execs of global corporations. They don't need the U.S. economy to be great. The world economy and their own profits is all that matters to them.
  13. It seems like we did a lot less corner blitzing last year than we had in previous years. Or when we did use it, it was timed horribly.
  14. Nope. I'm responding to what you said above. These companies are obviously not concerned with creating U.S. jobs when they're already outsourcing plenty of them, so of course they're against the bill. Their goal is to make money, not create jobs for Americans.
  15. The US Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Manufacturers and the Business Roundtable were also opposed to the bill. Obviously they're against US jobs as well. I'd like to know if the bolded part is sarcasm before I respond. Alright. Now I'll say that I don't think your point is a good one. All of those organizations have execs from huge, worldwide businesses on their boards. When your goal is to make money and you're a global company, creating jobs in the U.S. doesn't necessarily matter. I looked at the websites to see the members of the exec committees and boards and they're filled with these huge companies. I picked these examples because I'd heard of them, but there's also one at the bottom that I hadn't heard of, NACCO, that makes their forklifts in Brazil. I'm too lazy to go through every board member's company to see if they outsource, but I'm guessing a large number do. The US Chamber of Commerce site makes it more annoying to look up the board member affiliations so I didn't bother with that one. I only know that there's a Wal-mart exec on their board, so that's another company whose success doesn't exclusively depend on the U.S. doing well. It won't let me space the lines *glare* http://businessround...tive-committee/ Rex W. Tillerson Chairman & CEO, Exxon Mobil Corporation Committee Chair Andrew N. 16. This. I was fun back in the day when the game got to the point where the QB got scared due to the D.
  17. I thought he was 20th out of 25? Not sure what to believe. There are several places reporting on it, with several different opinions.

  19. They'll just say Alabama's having a down year
  20. Oh, I see how it is. So no girl should even try out. For center? Um, Idk. That just seems... something something. I bet the Center - QB exchange would go more smoothly.
  21. Oh, I see how it is. So no girl should even try out.
  22. How about: Johnny "the Johnny Stanton" Stanton
