  1. This is one reason why Paterno's reactions this week bother me. It shouldn't have taken him so long to respond. This article came out in April, and it took him until today to say he wishes he'd done more. He also said in a press conference just a couple months ago (but I don't remember the date, probably during Fall Camp) that there hadn't been any serious troubles at PSU ever. I can't believe he had the gall to say that after testifying.
  2. The PA Grand Jury report is not a newspaper. Grand Jury reports are not exactly written fact. They are often written to be as malicious (or in this case, salacious) as possible to warrant an indictment. Often times they are very inconsistent. What knapp said. The only thing I posted is Joe Pa's testimony. He also said already that he wishes he'd done more.
  3. How is he gonna be proven guilty? For the moment, Paterno isn't a suspect in the investigation and hasn't committed any crimes. Most people, myself included, are condemning him because he has admitted to knowing about these incidents and did nothing about them. Hmm...I didn't know he admitted to the situation....It's too bad he had to be caught in all this mess...he told his superiors, but I wonder what he actually told them...was he trying to purge and cover up this situation himself? According to Paterno...
  4. Where is the hypocrisy? Who here is saying they're fine with those things?
  5. It isn't all going to Joe, but he's getting all of the attention because he's God at Penn State. If he had gone to the authorities and told them about it, they would be a lot more likely to investigate thoroughly.
  6. I agree. I've seen him completely whiff on a block and the player he missed end up making a TFL.
  7. You would think, but plenty of the students are rallying easily enough.
  8. Please stop posting this sh#t in every topic. forums are for free speech expression. Since when? Internet forums never have been and never will be a place for free speech. It's up to whoever runs it to censor them however they like. But I don't mind your posts for the most part. Just the ones that bring up politics on a football topic. Whether or not what you're saying is true is irrelevant. It's that you brought it up here. There is a forum on huskerboard for politics. It's not this one.
  9. How are they false? Have you actually read any of the posts in this topic? People are discussing Osborne's first years and comparing them to Pelini's. People wanted Osborne fired back then, before he'd done all of this that you've mentioned. What he did later is meaningless because we don't know what Pelini will do, and he's starting out on par with how Osborne started. Osborne coached some pretty big time bowl games in his first 6 years...and you want to say Bo's only had 4 years then look at the first four. Okay. Osborne's first four seasons winning percentages 75% 75% 83% 69% Pelini's first three seasons winning percentages 69% 71% 71% 2011: 7–2 3–2 I guess I'm not understanding the point you're trying to make. Their percentages are not far off, and Osborne didn't have to play in conference championships. Take those two games from Pelini and he has two 77% seasons. And I'll repeat what I said before, Pelini inherited a mess.
  10. I'd like to add, while he did win a conference championship in his third year, it was right after Devaney. Just like Solich had great success right after Osborne. Pelini inherited a losing team. So people wanting to fire Pelini could be considered even worse.
  11. I can't help you. It will probably be Paterno's last home game (if he coaches it) so I'm a bit worried as well.
  12. Guess I missed this. Was it after the Northwestern loss? After the Wisconsin game. Here's what he said:
  13. His son Scott has said he will in fact be in the stadium and will actually be on the sideline. I kid you not. They're not going to okay his firing/forced resignation with his son before it happens, so what he says is pretty meaningless. All it means is that Paterno isn't quitting voluntarily.
  14. I would be forever grateful if GoHuskerzzzzzz!!!!111oneone.com or whatever the site was that shut down would go up again so we can have our special annoying members from before and not the new annoying members.
  15. How do you know he didn't do exactly that, and Sandusky explained himself to Paterno's liking? Perhaps Paterno gave his friend of 20-30 years the benefit of the doubt. Except, IIRC from all of my reading, this wasn't the first time Paterno had caught wind of something like this. Like someone said in another post, I think Paterno didn't want to confront his friend. (None of this means I think how Paterno acted is okay. I just don't think having Sandusky 'explain' was enough if that indeed happened).
  16. What do you mean by "explain Solich to me"? He means why did Solich get fired, I think? Which doesn't seem to relate that well to this topic. His circumstances were completely different because of Pederson. But it leads me to something I've pondered a few times. I wonder how good Nebraska would have been if Solich hadn't been fired that year and Pelini'd had a few years as the defensive coordinator. I'm quite happy with Pelini as the head coach, it's just something I've wondered.
  17. It goes by seniority. At a certain date the seniors can get tickets. Then a few days later the juniors. If they run out before they get to the freshmen, then the freshmen don't get any.
  18. I wish I could call people a**holes on here.
  19. Again I say, why in the holy hell do people think Robinson is so much better than Martinez? It gets stated over and over again on this forum. Their stats are almost identical. Robinson Passing: 53.5% 11 TD 11 Int 1325 yards Rushing: 127 for 779 yards Martinez Passing: 54.9% 8 TD 7 Int 1256 yards Rushing: 122 for 659 yards
  20. I don't think the people you're calling out actually read message boards.
