  1. Finally got this updated for all to check out. Hopefully we'll use this speed!!
  2. Moved to Football, sorry.
  3. This kid looks good! What does he look like on the board, if I missed it? http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Troy-Hinds-111672
  4. Wow!!!Big upset!! Congrats to the team!! And just to let yall know, on OB site...no excuses, no meltdowns, they're actually some congrats to NU on a great game! GBR!!
  5. If Cody Green had a QB coach, hell if any of the QB's had a QB coach, that developed talent like they should, Nebraska would've beat A&M, OU, and could've put themselves in the MNC!!! PERIOD!! That's how close, IMO, this team was last year. Going forward, the staff MUST have two QB's ready for whatever offense we bring to the BIG X!! Learn from you're mistakes and others by not having a good backup plan. I hate to say this and don't kill me for it, but the QB behind Mallet stepped in against Auburn (lost) and ran that offense like Mallet was still in the game ..... THAT'S COACHING YOUR OFFENSE, IMO. We looked horrible fumbling balls on offense, missing throws, and I can add the Texas game to this, dropping passes!!! Let's keep it real here about our QB's, you're either willing or unwilling .... competition breeds winners!! I'll get off my soap box, just my opinion like others. GBR!
  6. Outside looking in..... I don't see the athletes on this team to beat Texas. I saw the second half of the OU game and outside the PG, not much there, IMO, potential but it's going to be tough. The ball movement needs to be better, too much passing around the perimeter, no slashing, and you have to get back on "D". Would be a huge upset if they pull it off though, good luck squad!
  7. That is a bit odd, but when you look at other "power" programs like OSU and Alabama they have no problem recruiting WR's. When we get an accomplished passer in the fold, we will see the WR recruiting get better. Until then....let's get to work on that blocking on the outside!
  8. Check the stats on offense, has the potential to be another Charles Woodson or Dennis Green IMO. http://www.ultimatespringtx.com/stories/231638-texas-football-rates-collins-jackson-as-top-cornerback Also Jackson is in track now and will be working out with his Dad during the spring.
  9. He likes the idea of the UT offer however said, "he will go where he fits". He also stated that "my brother being at NU doesn't give the an egde". Did Todd get an offer from UT?
  10. I'm sorry (no offense) but I called offense and was a DB, it's not hard IF you have TEAMWORK and ACCOUNTABILITY. With that said if we take care of business with that schedule, we could be 11-1. The challenge IMO is Wisconsin, Penn State, and Ohio State coming off suspensions. Iowa can be beat, they can't keep a lead. BIG 10 is going to be physical and I see physical in "The Blackshirts". The O-line IMO will be the determining factor this year.
  11. Have you seen Charles Jackson throw a ball yet? Not saying he'll compete for QB, but he's a weapon on offense too which is way he was named Mr.Versatility. I guess that can wait till his sophomore year to become well-rounded to the Husker ways?
  12. It was Jan. 26th 1997 when the Green Bay Packers were Super Bowl Champions and now they won it again 14 years later! It's been since 1997 that the Big Red Machine won the MNC!! I think this is the best shot for it to happen while Ohio State deals with suspensions, but can this Nebraska team claim a MNC?? What do yall think?
  13. I know everyone wants a fair shake in the world, and wants things to go as planned. I have a bit of news for ya.... In the words of Denis Leary, "life sucks, get a f*ckin' helmet" When the thread is posted, reviewing how we thought people did during the spring game, and you guys are either praising CJ or possibly ripping him up, this isn't going to make a damn bit of difference. That is so true about him playing good or not....lol!! But let me say Jackson was not MAD, disappointed, but not mad like it's being said. He just wish it didn't come out of left field and no one called when the story broke to defuse the issue. I'm starting to agree this Dirk fellow must be out for Bo from what some have said here.
  14. http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/klein/sports/article_e8b2ab6d-8d5e-569f-9de0-579ed09546b0.html http://www.texasfootball.com/2010-top-tens/
  15. Here's how I see it since I'm close to the family. First Rick did a great job of PR on his sons behalf, nothing to add there, but I think the folks saying "you commit to a college, not some asst coach" are correct to a point. The commitment is to the University however you also have to have a connection with the Head Coach and your position Coach. I don't think anyone would go on an Official visit, not like the position Coach, and commit to that school. What alot of folks dont know is that LSU was very much in the picture for Jackson, but he didn't like the position coach, enjoyed the school and even Miles. In the beginning this does matter to recruits, so don't let that fool you. As for "Sandergate", it is what it is unfortunately, came out of left field for them and it did look foul, but if this decision happened through "dead period", Jackson couldn't be contacted. There's alot to speculate and I would have loved to be the fly on the wall when this all went down, but as Charles Jackson would say, "if I'm not worried about it, no one else should be".
  16. You don't see anything wrong with not even letting these guys know what was going on? I bet he would have still come to Nebraska if Bo would have just be straight forward and honest with him. The kid feels lied to and who can blame him... Nope. Was he part of the team before wednesday? Hell, for all we know he could have up and signed with Arky. Why would you let kids who are not part of your team in on stuff like this. Too many of you on here are forgetting these kids weren't huskers until wednesday and could have went anywhere. You don't discuss family issues outside the family. Im sure he will be contacted shortly now and things will be fine. I for one wont get my panties in a bunch over an 18 year old kid who has never and may never see the field. Also, sounds like CJ should be worrying more bout himself and getting his academics in order instead of worrying about coaches. Had to stop reading to reply to you..... CJ has been loyal to Nebraska and his pledge since announcing even with Arky still trying to get him. Which IMO made him a HUSKER!! So those family issues you speak on should have been told to him before NSD, just the part that says, "Sanders may not be with the program". As for the academic worries, there are known. FWIK he needs to maintain!
  17. The timing is awful, especially if Scott Frost is coming over. I have several Duck Fan buddies, and they're up in arms over the rumors in Eugene that Frosty is headed back to Lincoln. They are (justifiably so) upset that Frost had a hand in the recruiting of several players, only to bolt afterwards. They're upset that players may reconsider their choices to Oregon (which they can't after the LOI is signed, but whatever). Bottom line is, they're pissed we may come "steal" Frost from them. I really, really hope we were up-front with all of our recruits about what was going on. If not, it looks bad for us. WWWWWoooooowwww!!!! I have been out of the loop for a couple of days (cpu issues). I know this will come as a SHOCK to Jackson and his parents because I spoke to them yesterday during the Signing Ceremony. If Bo did not tell them Sanders may not be at NU, IMO that's not cool. They like Sanders. If it's for some type of legal infraction like the rumor that's going around.....The school has no choice. If in fact that is why Sanders possibly/is leaving. Where these infractions known prior to NSD and what are the rumors? Like I said, I've been out of the loop.
