  1. If he's showing immaturity, then whats going to flip the magic switch? What should Beck do, keep having him try to chuck the ball around the playground when it is clearly not his forte? He's better running the ball, than he is throwing the ball. Why is he trying to hit a home run, when he lofts the ball up giving the defense time to adjust? This might have worked against lesser secondary's, but Wisconsin's coverage guys are a hell of a lot better than Wyoming. He should be throwing shorter passes to minimize the chance of mistakes. I had friends watching the game with me last weekend, and all of them said that his throwing motion needs work. There's a time to be immature, but then there's a time to learn from your mistakes, and pull your head out of your ass. When you keep making the same mistakes over and over, is that person unable to be coached? What happened to the kid who a couple games before last saturday, got everyone's hopes up, by making smart decisions, sliding, etc. He needs to learn that flipping the ball down field might yield great rewards, but also comes with consequences. The "magic switch" flips after a game like Saturday. When he makes enough mistakes that he gets in the film room and looks at what he should have done instead. For a growing QB that has been in a trial by fire role since day 1 as a starter, that is how you "grow up" and get better.
  2. I agree. I will be singing a very different tune if we lose to tOSU.
  3. Look, I think it's a bit premature to call for someone to be benched (Martinez, Fisher, etc.) because it's not ideal to sack someone, who has played well overall, just because of one bad night. I feel when they are the no-brainer starter all year, and then they totally suck, you have to give them a chance to respond. See if they are disappointed in their performance and come out to play with a chip on their shoulder the next week. But if we don't see big turnaround in gameplay, changes need to be made. As for Tim Beck, he needed a week like last week. A game where even if he calls the perfect game we might lose, but instead he made multiple questionable decisions and has thus been berated by media and fans. He is still learning, and hopefully this was a big learning experience for him. Let's see if he comes out this week and "dance's with the one that brought him" to turn a phrase. By that I mean: run the GD football. My two cents. Sorry if this has been thoroughly discussed elsewhere.
  4. Felt compelled to respond. I agree with the above statement and I have heard the exact same thing EZ, I didn't know it was Halloween already Anyway, I personally <3 Bo with all of my <3
  5. With the exception of the mid-40s man that I was inclined to make tear up using merely my words, everyone I met in Madison that was over college age was friendly and fun to talk to. The students were just kinda stupid. Their vulgar chants were just uncreative and pointless. If they would have been funnier about it, I would have left with a higher appreciation for the fanbase in general.
  6. Respond to this. We'll have a chat!
  7. That the Wisconsin fight song is an inttricate song and dance. It's like a 6th grade musical performance.
  8. On Schick and Nick and USC they're saying that they are trying to get a bunch of Husker fans out to Tanner's Bar and Grill. I, for one, will probably be going there even though I have no clue where it is. Sounds like a good time.
  9. Iowa fans won't be pleasant because they're the worst people in the world... Other than Todd McShay of course.
  10. I don't know if this should be moved or not, but I am quite pleasantly surprised by the Badger fans that have showed up on this board. I've heard some horror story about Wisconsin fans and was thinking we'd have a lot of trolls pop up, but for the most part all of the Wisconsin fans on here seem both knowledgeable and humble, given the success they've had of late. Might be some of the better discussions I've seen in my short time on the board. With that out of the way I will make another reference to the topic title. TMAgic said that the team is "ready to shock the world." This was discussed on another thread and #8 beating #7 wouldn't be a "shock" but I know I'm not the only Husker fan who thinks that an NU win would be a pleasant surprise.
  11. ^^^^ The streets will run red with Corso's blood!
  12. I was in California over the summer and I walked around every day for a week, often at night, and was almost always wearing some piece of Husker clothing. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who survived.
  13. Uh, what? Got a link? He was questionable to start the season, but he's fine now. Either way, Nebraska wins by 4 touchdowns. That's some realistic kool-aid drinking for ya.
  14. You are very quick to dismiss Martinez as a passer. Ask Oklahoma State how that worked out for them last year. Whoops. It appears several people have already made this point. But I guess that does nothing but lend it more credibility.
  15. FWIW, in Nebraska's past 16 games, the opposing qb has been a far better passer than whatever qb NU has rolled out, and they are 12-4 in that span 1-1 against Washington though, soon to be 1-2. Ignorance is bliss eh? I do appreciate your optimism for your team though, even after some close games against lesser opponents. I wish more Husker fans would take on your attitude. Only difference is we have a team worth being hopeful for Seems like about 80% of the Husker fans trust in your team. The other 20% are predicting 4-5 losses. I think the Huskers will win around 9 games, with one of their losses coming to us . In exactly 6 days I will be posting a thread titled "UDub" with nothing but this: I expect you to print it out and eat it. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. +1. This scratched me right where I itched.
