  1. Bo is a young coach, in terms of coaching. He is a fiery guy and wants to see his team perform up to their standards (something which they obviously weren't doing yesterday) I would be pissed if I gave a whole week preaching focus, and then watched my players be anything BUT focused during the game. It's frustrating to anyone, even a head coach. But the players love Bo and that is the ONLY thing that matters. BTW I'm sure Mack Brown is frustrated with the way his team has been playing...in fact, he even threw everyone under the bus post ISU loss. I like Bo. He brings emotion to the game and that helps the team play with some swagger. Once he gets the whole focused thing right, watch out
  2. Iowa State was anything BUT an inferior team. And when you factor the wind into the game...it evens things out even more. Even the great QBs would struggle throwing the ball into the wind like there was yesterday. That made us one dimensional for 4 quarters. The Niles Paul fumble was inexcusable, but that falls on the players having common sense and not trying to take it out 4 yards deep in your own endzone. Iowa State played really well. We didn't have our best game We still won We're 8-1 and in the fast lane to the Big XII CG QYB
  3. The last three defenses that we've played (aside from Okie Light's) were very athletic. T-Mart couldn't get the corner and was shut down. Iowa State's D? Not so much athletic. He'll be able to get around the corner and maybe score once or twice on the ground. However, I absolutely LOVE that Helu had a big game against Missouri. It made it harder on I-State's D coordinator because not only does he have to plan for Martinez (running AND throwing), he also has to plan for Helu on the ground. Defensively, I don't see Iowa State doing much scoring. Maybe a TD and a FG, but I think our defense really clicked against Mizzou and it should do the same against Iowa State
  4. ESPN3 for the PS3 is not available currently, and I am not sure if it ever will be available because I think the deal ESPN signed with Xbox (Microsoft) was exclusive. Sorry to those who have a PS3 and got screwed by the coverage maps.
  5. ^This. We still want to get good pass catching recruits so if we just run run run they're not going to want to come to Nebraska. Maybe that's complete crap, because most players would want to go to a team where they could possibly play for the NC, but others want to go to play on a team that fits their style. I think Watson let off the gas a little bit, but his first quarter play-calling spoke for itself. An excellently called quarter.
  6. I think Utah beats TCU as TCU has never won in Salt Lake City before. It'll be lower scoring Utah 28 TCU 24
  7. TigerNuts, you can review a fumble on a play...they do it all the time. There is no way forward progress can be stopped on a sack...it's a sack for God's sake. The hit on Martinez's knees was clean, as was the hit on Gabbert. It wouldn't have been helmet to helmet if Gabbert didn't lower his head. That's not Osborne's fault, it's Gabbert's
  8. But there's no point in a review if they don't get the call right...that's what review is for and they OBVIOUSLY missed the fumble and then cited a stupid reason, forward progress had been stopped. How can forward progress be stopped on a sack?
  9. We're fans. We can focus on whatever we want. However, the TEAM needs to focus on Iowa State and not be caught up in the media attention. What we don't need is a loss that nullifies the win over Mizzou. I, personally would much rather have a Conf. Champ., a BCS bowl Championship, and a top 5 finish to the year. That would make it a good year in my opinion.
  10. Holding occurs on every play. I'm sure Nebraska got away with holding at certain points during the Missouri game. The fact of the matter is we won, so, it doesn't matter.
  11. Didn't see anything too terribly wrong with the article. Yeah, Bernie is a jerk, but he is a Missouri fan and if things had gone the other way, there would be NU fans doing the same thing (although I don't think it would be Tom Shatel of the Omaha World Herald). I like the whole comparison thing he does when he states that Nebraska hadn't won any Big XII Championships and National Championships in a set period of time. I don't think he realizes that in that same period of time, Missouri didn't win a Big XII Championships or National Titles. Hypocritical. But he is a fan. And sometimes fans overreact.
  12. I'm taking this #7 ranking with a grain of salt. Our next games are @ Iowa State, vs. Kansas, @ Texas A&M, and vs. Colorado. None of these teams are or will ever be ranked by season's end. I think we need a whole lot of help to get into the BCSNCG. However, if it can happen, this would be the season where it could. I think Nevada can take care of Boise and Utah can take care of TCU. This effectively eliminates TCU and Boise State from the National Title hunt. However, Utah remains undefeated (but will they get enough love?) Arizona CAN beat Oregon. If there is a team to do it, it would be Arizona (however, I don't think they will) Auburn will lose to Alabama. If LSU could somehow beat Alabama that would do a lot of good for us. LSU would go to the SECCG and more than likely lose to Florida/South Carolina. All we can do is win out and beat what will more than likely be Oklahoma in the Big XII CG. The rest is up to fate. Personally, I would take a BCS Bowl.
  13. ^ This. Let's play a game: How many days will it take for Beebe to suspend Osborne?
  14. What's Osbourne supposed to do when Gabbert lowers his head at the last second? Is he supposed to back off and let him fall over? No. That is not football...it was a clean hit and the helmet to helmet hit was a result of Gabbert lowering his head at the last second
  15. You know what's great about this suspension too? For the rest of the year we will not see another suspension handed down for hits like Martin's. There will be plenty more hits just like Martin's, if not worse than Martin's
  16. 1) Oregon 2) Auburn 3) TCU 4) Missouri 5) Michigan State 6) Boise State 7) Utah
  17. Okafor was not a defenseless as defined by the rules. The contact was made with the shoulder, and seeing that Okafor was taller than Martin, his head is naturally going to come down so he can protect himself, this causes Martins helmet to hit his helmet. Martin got suspended for making a play That idiot who intentionally hit Martinez in the helmet gets to play next week. Dan Beebe, get fired, please
  18. Mizzou will be a test, no doubt. They are a good team with a good D, but they're pretty much the same team as they were last year. There is no reason why we can't beat them. There is every reason we should beat them. All we have to do is EXECUTE. Nebraska is as good as any team in the nation if they execute. We just got to go out and, as Larry the Cable Guy would say, "GIT R DONE"
  19. THESE GUYS WOULD BE PERFECT COMMENTATING AN NFL GAME
  20. Question right now: Is Kendall Hunter and Oklahoma State's line really good, or are we just not getting the push up front? I know Okie State is a very good offensive team but it seems that our D is underperforming.
  21. You know who hasn't gotten a lot of respect from the media? Alex Henery. Seriously, when has he missed a FG?
  22. We will more than likely beat Oklahoma State and will have a good game with Missouri. Regardless, we must win out to win the Big XII North. Especially if Mizzou somehow beats Oklahoma tomorrow I also don't see us losing to Kansas, Iowa State, Texas A&M, or Colorado
