  1. His blocking is downright awful, he can't block a DE at all, and LBs aren't much better
  2. That isn't the last 10 years. 2001-2010 is. I brought this up about a week ago In the ACTUAL past 10 seasons. Iowa 85-41 NU- 84-46 I know that Nebraska will probably lose a couple here and there to Iowa, but, it really is a hard concept to grasp. Glad to know Nebraska's worst ten years in their history is one win behind Iowa's best years. Let's play the reverse of that game and look at Nebraska's best era vs Iowa's record over the same time, 1990-1999. Iowa: 62-53-2 Nebraska: 108-16-1 Past records are worthless in comparing how these teams will play in the future anyways.
  3. He could in theory have an agreement in place with Kansas City, the only problem is the MLB corporate office wont approve any deal that is a certain percentage over recommended slot. 6.2 mill is the number I am hearing as well which is double recommended slot, and one of the top 5 bonuses for a player not to get a major league contract. Needless to say to come to Nebraska he would have to seriously love the Big Red and believe he could be the #1 pick in three years.
  4. I've heard the same thing. His g/f went to Sgt. Bluff, IA and had a track scholarship at Iowa and he got her pregnant and got another chick pregnant as well. The other is supposed to be the Hawkeye's RB Adam Robinson's sister.
  5. Because anything that hurts Texas makes some husker fans incredibly happy. I don't know really. Just trying to justify it.
  6. Man it would be hard to pass up 2-6 million dollar signing bonus depending on where he falls in the MLB draft. If he is injured though his chances of coming to Nebraska rise exponentially.
  7. What did happen to Braylon Heard? He looked like a lock to at least be a special teams player if not a RB.
  8. This whole board has gone off the deep end. Seriously, rumor thread after rumor thread. Complaining about or worrying about these rumors is pointless. Even if it is true, nothing we say on here changes anything. Let's all take a collective deep breath and calm our nerves here. For the love of all things holy, can we stop adding fuel to the rumor fire. GBR
  9. He is a top 15 pick in baseball, only way he comes to Nebraska is if he has a serious injury that drops his draft status; tommy john surgery, torn labrum, etc. At which point his effectiveness as a QB is gone as well. So might as well just cross him off the list of recruits for 2011. We can dream though...
  10. I fail to see how Wisconsin is a guaranteed loss. I know people characterize Wisconsin as a pound-it-down-your-throat running team, but Scott Tolzien has really been the catalyst to making the offense great this year. He just won the Unitas Award and leads the country in completion percentage. Losing him will hurt no matter how you slice it. Camp Randall is one of the toughest places to play. The badgers are 32-4 in Camp Randall since they completed their stadium renovations to add seats, and make the visiting locker rooms a lot less opponent friendly. That plus three solid running backs lead me to believe the Huskers are going to have to play a perfect game to win there.
  11. @Wisconsin is a loss, Ohio State and Michigan State are toss ups. Minnesota is the only guaranteed W. Iowa and Penn St are games that should be wins. Michigan and Northwestern are games Nebraska will be favored in, but it comes down to whether or not the blackshirts can stop Robinson and Persa respectively. 6-2 would be a great first season in my opinion.
  12. OK. We fire Watson after this recruiting class is signed. We then ask T O to step in as O/C for one season, while we line up someone for the 2012 season. Being a head coach, A/D is not new. Why can't an O/C and A/D not be tried for a year. You sure as hell won't find a better offensive mind. Just throwing this out there. GBR!!! husker nation just creamed in their collective pants...I'd make that announcement now though, and watch the best recruits in the country come to our doorstep knowing t.o. is at the helm.. i wish it would happen, put it probably won't. The recruits you speak of would have been 4-5 years old the last time Dr. Tom was patroling the sidelines. I don't think it would give you quite the recruiting boost you are looking for. Not to mention that this is less likely than the Detroit Lions winning the Super Bowl this year.
  13. 1) Rex Burkhead needs to touch the ball 25+ times a game 2) Fumbles/turnovers prevent a good team from being a great team. 42 fumbles on the season is ridiculous. 3) Our coaching staff fails to make simple adjustments. 4) Taylor Martinez is a redshirt freshman, and he played like one.
  14. Zac wasn't in on that fake punt, it was Anthony West who is our gunner. Herbie didn't take time to read the name on the back. The play wasn't going to be a reverse pass, like the anouncers thought, but a rush to the left with Ben Cotton running. Forget the player's name but he was to the lleft of the long snapper was pulling around on the play to block for Ben.
  15. Better chance then we had in '06
  16. 184-185 (99.46%) on the career, his miss came in 2008 vs Baylor.
  17. Brett Maher will be punter I believe Jason Dann for Kicker?? Niklas Sade is a 2 star recruit coming in next fall, ethier way nothing guarenteed by far and away. Oye. Could be a painful gut check for our inaugural Big 10 season. No doubt about it we lose a lot. Great kickoff specialist, Best FG kicker ever in Neb history, good punter, entire secondary, helu, and paul (not sure if this is good or bad). Thats just off the top of my head, I know there is more.

  19. Under O/U 90.00 QB Rating for Tannehill
  20. I could seriously see this, he hits consistently 40+ yards with above average hang time, if he could get a couple more tenths of hangtime on his punts he could be a serious dual threat K/P in the NFL. Anybody know if this has ever happened before and if so who was the last person to do it?
  21. 27 points in four games is a good possibility. They will be four of our toughest games. (Hey, CU always plays us tough. Even when they suck.) And we got a gimpy QB right now. Good point about the loss of Alex/Adi being as big of a blow as losing Suh. I dunno if it's that big, but the loss will definitely be felt. Kickers are more important to teams with great defenses and suspect offenses. Like NU last year. One other thing: I wish we could have seen what Adi has for FGs. I don't think he's kicked one for about three years, has he? But that's what happens when you play behind the best kicker in the ncaa. Adi only has one career FG attempt in his career, a 46 yarder that was good his freshman year, I'm sure he has just of good as distance as Alex but I'm not sure anyone has as good of accuracy. The reason I think the loss is as big as Suh is because you lose the most accurate kicker in Nebraska history, a kick off specialist who puts the opposing team at the 20 to start their drives half the time, and your punter who averages 44 yards a kick and has above average accuracy for punting as well as kicking. The change in field position alone that these two bring is incredible. Yeah, I know about field position. But I also know that offensive coordinators put together special gameplans to account for a great DT like Suh. Teams don’t worry so much about any kicker or punter. Don’t get me wrong. I am a HUGE fan of both Henery and Kunalic. But kickers just don’t have the same value as a game changing defensive down lineman. Look at the NFL draft. Henery may go on day one, but no way he gets picked in the first round. Adi won’t get drafted but will eventually make a roster somewhere. Agree on all fronts. Suh is once in a lifetime player, hopefully we can get someone to replace Alex and Adi as well as Crick and Baker have done for Suh.

  23. No doubt about that. If we didn't have Henery we would've lost to Colorado in 08' and their goes the new field goal record of 57 yards. Also without Henery's field goals we would've been shutout by Virginia Tech and Texas of last year. Also Adi has done a hell of a job during kickoffs with all his touchbacks.....well except for the 09' Big 12 Championship game. I knew that was going to be brought up somehow, at the time I was livid for that and somewhat blamed him for that loss, but then I realized that no one is perfect, and Adi's fault just happened to come out at the most inoppurtune time and place. His career touchback number is about 41% (117 TB- 287 ATT) and this year it is about 46% (31 TB-67 ATT). All in all you have to look past the minor mistakes and look ath the whole body of work and appreciate how lucky we were to have not only a deadly accurate field goal kicker but a boot to set field position with as well.
  24. First time starting a topic so hopefully this goes ok. Just a little fun fact to be watched for the rest of the season, if my count is correct Henery needs 16 points to pass Kris Brown for #1 on the all time scoring list. Just adding to the incredible legacy Mr. Henery has made for himself. 27 points would get him to 400 but that seems lofty for 4 games left in the season. Also in my opinion the loss of Alex and Adi combined is just as big of a blow to our team as losing Suh. Thoughts?
