I think MIlls is probably your 1A, IF he keeps his nose clean. He is your down hill inside power guy. Washington can do some of that, but his runs will be different.

Ummm I dont think so, I think he is more like a 1B. I think you see him playing in the same role he was in last year, but with 5-8 more touches.

Maybe I should change this topic to the RB Depth Chart now...Ha ha. I think that moving forward you wont see 1 guy get the lion share of carries. As the depth forms, you will see this staff use the kids according to their strengths. Thats what good leadership does. Also, with this offense you cannot really think in terms of carries as much as touches. Yes, there will be a guy who leads in carries, but I think the idea is to have 2 or 3 guys who can run the rock. Also Mazour as a back up? Where is Washington gonna be? Bradley? Johnson? I think it will be amazing if he makes it as a 3rd option. That stable is filling up, gonna be a tough room again.

Ohio State was Ohio State before Urban Meyer and they will be Ohio State after as well. We won 4 games last year, we have no business looking down our noses at anyone. Its an uphill battle for us. Thing is, we have the staff to do it.

Its still just recruiting, player development has been extremely poor here in the last 8-12 years. I would also say that as badly as Wisky and Iowa want to be bluebloods they just arent. We are.

You can compete for national titles without top 5 classes. Its the age old question of what came first, the chicken or the egg. Offers from certain schools will make a players rating go up. 10 years ago, no one cared about who Clemson was recruiting and they were 36th in the nation (although they did snag Tajh Boyd that year), and now they are 5th i the nation. As this staff proves that it evaluates talent well, you will see an increase in our ratings. We will still be bringing in the exact same type of player, but because of clout and prestige, we will get hire rankings. Yes, its dumb.

you cant "block a man" the option, you block a zone. With flow away, foster never makes it to the mike. Some where in the scheme, the T or G missed and assignment though. Hard to know what rules they are playing.

This is an incorrect observation. He is in a zone blocking scheme, thats why his eyes never go out there. If he tries to reach block a player who is essentially 2.5 yards out side, it will create a window for the LB to run through and disrupt the option at the mesh. This would have caused the option to string out to the side line, which is exactly what the defense wants. The end rusher knifing in makes the edge shorter, the QB just has to make a quick read. In hindsight, the QB should have handed off as they had numbers to the field side.

These types of historical stats just dont factor in to a football game.

How should the Blackshirts be distributed throughout the season? Do you have to play a perfect game? Can you lose them if the defense plays poorly as a whole? In my opinion, I like how the staff is handling it. If you get them, you have to earn them every week. If we give up 40 points, everyone should lose em. Hopefully guys would give them back to show that they dont deserve them when that stuff happens. What are your thoughts?
