  1. In honor of LC, not so fast my furry friends, WE will hold our own in the Big Xll. We may lose 2 or 3 games in conference our first year. That includes one game of debotchery! Bo Knows if Wats is still his guy to get the program where he wants it! I personally don't see how he could feel that way with the sloppy football we excreted way too often and in the biggest games. I can only hope he is staying quiet so Wats can bail gracefully. Bo and co. have our defense humming now, lets focus on the O these next couple years and we will probably win the B10 in 2013.

  3. I applaid his perception that he could have done better, in his mind. TM has a year under his belt and blazing speed, he would still have to beat him out to get to start. I think if TM can't grasp his role on the team and execute the offense better then BO will play someone else thou. After Namath, all public cockiness is old and unwelcomed thou. This could shift TM's focus and drive into a higher gear if he takes it as a personal attack, is that your motivation? In this case I am not so sure it falls under cockiness thou. Seems he was observant on a lot of things that could have been done better. More power to him if he can jump to the next level and preform well but now these comments are just negative public criticism about a future teammate and thats not productive.
  4. The Big X coming back? From being where? They are the cellar dwellers of the major conferences right now so they have no place else to go. If your prediction is the conference will rival the Pac 10, Big XII, and ACC in the next few years, easy enough, there close now. If your contention is they may rival the SEC? Then it seems since the SEC will continue to win half of the national champ's per decade under the BCS, the Big X would have to win the other 5 to keep up. Ya right! Good Laugh!
  5. The Big XII isn't LOUSY yet! Prepare quickly thou. Cant wait till the premier texas kids bail to other conferences.

  6. I think the SEC sits in the middle of the most talented area of HS football in America by far. Congrats to them! Overall one of the best runs of conferece dominance in CF history. Yes it would be great for another conference to step up but which one? I see that if the system remains the same that the SEC will vie for almost all the championships, it will be the best SEC team against the best of the rest or against another SEC team. Isn't that how the BCS wants it? Having said all that, overall they have played the best! I am not for the bcs because of the fact only two teams get in (sorry tcu) but for now the SEC must be represented until they lose the trophy. Atleast let them lose it on the field. GO DUCKS! Well there is always next year.
  7. It is sad to say Nebraska has relied too heavily on the run. I love the run game but teams will load up the box, force us in second or third and long, obvious passing downs and in this situation we become abysmal. Why! Two main reasons. 1) Quality of recievers 2) Ability of quarterback to complete the pass in big games or sometimes, ever. Yes you can start throwing big stats and names at me or put the higher blame on coaching but the fact remains in almost all cases our passing game succeeds only when our run game does. I realize our run sets up the pass but it shouldn't be almost reliant on it to succeed. Too one dimensional! We need our passing yardage to be between 35 to 40 percent of our offense and efficient to balance our offense. I know with the huskers tradition and coaching staff that our defense and running game will be solid. Simply we are too predictable in what we can execute against tougher competition so we get exploited. Just about any run oriented offense would be ok if we could pass effectively enough. If we ever get some really good recievers and a good pass/run quarterback and a coach to get that part of our offense to click we could be more like Alabama's offense, mainly a run first but can pass well. It seems getting some quality rec. recruits that are fast and good hands and blocking skills and a QB that can pass ok is asking too much. I see that the national power houses like Ala, OSU, Okl. LSU, Tex, USC,and yes even Auburn and Oregon all get top notch receivers even thou most are run oriented first. We just need to amp up our focus in the passing department and maintain our defense and run game and we are there. Ok maybe throw in a good offensive play caller that can manage the game and its done! GBR No disrespect to some of our greats ala,. Fryar, Rodgers, Peterson, Swift etc. a lot were wingbacks and not true WR's.
  8. Bo should visit TO soon and let him know its time for a new Offensive Coordinater. There does seem to be some hangover issues with the HC hire thou: Intensity is great but you cant let it consume you in the heat of battle. When the tyraids happen nothing good on the field happens either, ever notice that? Is ok to fight for your kids but act like you have been there. Usually misses the next few plays because if it also. I do believe he was sincere in his apology but the Leach incident is still fresh. I think Bo could jump ship to another school. He did let the miami offer linger too long to make me feel that his loyalty is solid. Just saying, wouldnt surprise me. Just a new OC, a good one, and I really believe we will do well in the B10.
  9. Mushberger is the worst. Why would anyone be leary about the Big ten move? thats funny! Maybe its the shere mass of mediocrity!

  10. Mangino does seem to be the best choice of the names I hear. RR will not consider dropping to OC at this point unless its a move to NFL. Peck might bring to the table nothing more than Watson and that would be a waste. If he called the plays in the bowl game then definitly not. There has to be better options out there, NO?
  11. The Big Ten will continue to get run, adding the huskers will not help. Point being the SEC is by far the strongest football conference period. For the ones who say by adding NU makes the Big Ten the best are confused. For the people who dont get into assigning a confereces strength, fair enough, I dont much care either but rececnt history makes it not worth discussing cuz its obvious.
  12. Great idea with Green but he would still be second string TE at best, no matter where u stick both him and Martinez it seems there hands are bad. TM does have great speed just wish his judgements on the field were decent. How many times did he not even get the play ran in time, last game he got two before he finally ran a play. It always seems at periods in the game we cant afford to do it. I only hope he is not the primmadonna he seems to be but either way he cant pass and does not bode well for us. We need a Tebow type, takes a bruising, loves to run first and has ability to win a game strictly with his arm. Is asking for that and one that can manage a game too much? Unless we get good hands receivers and a qb that can throw it we will get a huge dose of run blitzes and 9 guys in the box. Good Luck! North Dakota st. should have been our eye openers when they opted to stop the run that way. In defense of TM was the short time allowed by our OL for him to throw, really bad.
  13. Cam Newton asside, what they did is not allowed - and if permitted it would open up the doors to pay players through merchandise and other products. If you knew that every time Oklahoma won the Big12 South the Big12 south ring was valued at $35,000 and you could sell that...but nebraska rings run around $500 which college would you choose? Before long USC would be giving $100,000 conferenc championship rings, and $50,000 participation awards to all their players. Why do you think this is ok? My link The Unjustice alternatively would be the biggest financially backed Universities would dominate college football from henceforth. Paying the most for the best players and coaches, Lets get three times the dose of Texas, Ohio State, Alabama, Notre Dame's Back! No Thanks. Most are getting there educations paid for and that comes with restrictions, they knew what they were doing was wrong at the time, case closed. I wouldn't mind waiting four years for a marginal NFL salary contract.
  14. At his current size I think he raises too many questions for him to be drafted very early. I think he'd be well-served by staying another season and putting on some mass. Seems also plausible that he could play safety in the NFL, similar to Palumalu's roving safety position. He reminds me a lot of Terrell Farley with how fast he plays the game. I look forward for all of them to return because it almost guarantees we will be in the top 10 defensively. Just a thought about how exciting next year will be for Nebraska in there first year in the Big X and the great challenge our schedule will be. WOW I would think that has to be a huge plus for any athlete to look forward to let alone players like these guys are.
  15. What's Nebraska's allotment and how much are still left? Also do these people think just as many people are going to pay to travel twice to the West coast to see a team Nebraska already has beat? We'd better be careful, or our "greatest fan's in college football" title, may be disputed... Folks may be desputing that now but its no contest! Regardless of whether we buy our allotment! I was at the game live against Washington and will have difficulty just to watch our next meeting. Point being we played argueably our best game and it won't get any better. I still think we will win handily and thus turns into old hat category. Nothing gained.
  16. I am for the 16 team playoff system. No automatic seeds via conference championships. Each team has eleven regular season games. I am not for conference championship games unless all conferences are dictated to have one and minimum 12 teams each( ideally all with 16 ). TOP 16 get in via BSC Point System. Bowls will be tied in with playoff. With rotation of Championship game to the same bowls currently hosting. All other games will be determined by next highest paying bowl. There will be bowls left and they can continue there tradition on there own by inviting teams that did not make playoffs. A lot of comments about teams that "deserve to be in there". The only system in sports that really screws a team that might deserve to be there is the BCS. TCU for instance. People can haggle all they want about strength of schedule, blah, blah, simple fact is they have won every game, UNDEFEATED! I don't care if they played the worst 11 teams in the country, they do deserve to be there! Yes the regular season is suppose to be a playoff, SO, TCU is undefeated in there portion of these "playoffs" and still cannot win the National Championship? In my opinion that is criminal to punish these kids because of a schedule they had no control over, and they did beat every team they played in there playoffs. So those who say the regular season is there playoffs can eat me. If you win everygame in the playoffs then u must have won the championship! But no! Its no playoffs then! Is a pipe dream but all other options have to many huge risks at leaving highly ranked or undefeated teams out of the picture. Lets atleast include all deserving teams plus a few more for cushion and let them be able to decide it on the field.
  17. I am thankful the fiasco is now over. The final straw is the Holiday Bowl VERSUS WASH. Are you kidding me! Ha! I am not even interested in watching it, the one and only nebraska game I have seen live was against Washington this year. PHHT The Big XII Admin has shown there ass again. Weasling there way around to dump on Nebraska to the bitter end. Nice moon you laid on us Beebe, you clown! Most people are going think that its just a backlash because Nebraska hosed the conference by leaving. This actually started DAY ONE with this circus of a conference. 1)Killing OU NEB rivalry 2)Championship game in Dallas 3)Prop 48 demise 4)Dispersion of profits ETC ETC Yes we did vote it down, ALONE, from the start and that is where it began. I wonder if the Big Ten would have taken us back in 1996? Allelujiah We are outta here!
  18. Your rant was too long and boring to read in full. The loss was not on the D. Yes they may have given up quite a few yards, but 4 turnovers assisted the OU O. TM has no clue of pocket presence. Of the 7 or so sacks he took tonight, 5 were preventable if he would have made the decision to tuck and run or throw the ball away. Watson's play calling was piss poor to say the least. Where was the Power running game. Seemed to work the very few times it was ran. We do not have very good recievers. Kinnie and McNeil are good, but McNeil is slow and an undersized TE. Good hands and a good route runner, but not a threat. We didn't have a deep threat all game. There were opportunities for shots deep but the personel wasn't there. All in all this game falls on the O and the Offensive coaches. I have to admit, the one refreshing thing that happened all day was reading this last post. Well said and you do know football. I counted atleast 13 points that were triggered by Neb. Offensive blunders, huge momentum swings also, giving life back to the sooners. If you include the Martinez intereception in the endzone and Burkheads fumble when it looked like the Wildcat was starting to roll in the middle of the 4th Quarter tied 20-20, which again led to the last field goal to win, was more than the defense could hold. Understand this that 455 yards or 655 yards the Blackshirts held Oklahoma to 23 points TOTAL and 10 possibly depending on how u look at it. You can't blame them at all. Ya we did get beat a few times over the top but we are suseptible to that play because of our aggressive style. OH WELL Live with it cuz its a hella defense. We did not score ONE POINT in the second half. Figure it out!
  19. Points of Turnovers: Deadly! Blackshirts played awesome. Well done. I have shot myself in the foot twice in the last two years, Ya it hurts badly!

  20. He was still a threat to run in the OSU game. Without that threat, his ability to make plays in the passing game is severely diminished. Plus if his tow and ankle are still bothering him it will really hurt his footwork in the passing game, which we saw against A&M. Martinez has been and will be our best option at quarterback. Cody Green had a good showing against Colorado but that was in part to the running game being effective. We have problems when the opposing teams put 9 defenders in the box to stop our run and force us to pass. Oklahoma is going to have no respect for our passing game until we prove otherwise, which is unlikely. Martinez has better throwing skills than Green if he is healthy and I would also chose to play Lee before Green in this case also.
  21. Managing the Game! Getting the play off on time. "Earned" Penalties. Use of timeouts. The Hurry up? What a concept! Managing the Game! Clean it up! Lets get it done! GBR!
