  1. Social media is how kids react and put their thoughts out there. It's totally normal for them to do so.
  2. I think sitting out this year with injury has helped see the program from the outside a bit.
  3. Man, the Internet beer muscles are strong in this thread.
  4. I actually wouldn't have any issue with this at all. When Gill was retained by BC, there was weirdness there that didn't need to be. Everyone couldn't wait to get rid of Watson and Gilmore after they were kept by Bo (with TO's recommendation). Let the new guy name his staff. If he decides to keep a couple guys, great. If not, no big deal to me.
  5. Armstrong is in a tough situation. He just spent 3 years with coaches he trusted and who apparently trusted him as the starting QB the past 1 1/2 seasons. He may have to learn a totally different offense, and his starting QB job is up in the air. If you were going to "lose your job" you would be sensitive, as well.
  6. He may not be able to meet with the players, and right now, all the players are scattered and not on campus.
  7. This. I agree that Stanton is the wild-card for the offense. He has to be THRILLED that a new regime will be coming in. He will get a fair shot to beat out TA next spring, which probably wasn't going to happen under Bo and Beck.
  8. I know there is a number of people that have the opinion that next year's team will have the "talent" to win the conference next season. I could be totally wrong, but I could see NU struggle a lot next year. Offense -- the team is losing it's two best players in Ameer and Bell. We saw the offense struggle mightily when those two were injured at times this season. Armstrong is a huge question mark at QB, and behind him are a bunch of unproven players. The RB situation doesn't excite me at all, unless Adam Taylor comes out of nowhere and is a STUD. Defense -- I feel better about the defense than the offense. But, the LB play will need to improve a lot, and we will lose Gregory. Intangibles -- when a new coach comes in, the team can go in two directions. They can buy in and play hard for the new coach, or they can check out, and the new coach has to wait until "his players" get into the system. Who knows what will happen with this.
  9. Should these players be jumping for joy that their coach just got fired? They are upset. Let them be upset.
  10. Transfer rules are the same, even in coaching changes.
  11. What has the guy with the adopted Asian daughter said about Bo's firing? Enquiring minds want to know!!!!

Everyone point and laugh at bean for not knowing.

  12. I wasn't concerned about Bo's antics on the sideline. It's the type of coach he is. I was concerned about the lack of progress the past few years and lack of big time wins.
  13. Please stop posting negative things about the players. They just lost their coaches and father figures. Let them vent their frustration and anger.
  14. Kaz and Warren would be strong choices but it's ultimately up to the new coach. Some argued TO overstepped his authority when he recommended that Watson and Gilmore stay after '07
  15. I agree that TO doesn't need to me consulted on the next job. The only thing I could see is if SE was looking at Frost or Bohl or someone with a past connection to the program.
  16. Haven't heard the PC yet. Will look for it online. Sounds like Eichorst was professional and very prepared. Are we still worried about him giving books to the coaches?
  17. 1620 the zone in Omaha will live stream it too.
  18. Most will go some place else. Kids commit to the coach, not the school.
  19. I understand the sentiments. I'm just not sure how impactful families are. In Bo's case they are $10 MILLION richer. Sorry fella, but since I am poor, I can only dream of such a tough situation to be in. It's not the money aspect that I was commenting on. These are men, fathers, husbands, that have to go home and tell their families that they have to go find some place else to work. I know that comes with their profession and they make plenty of money. But, it is still not an easy thing to do.
  20. Guys can we keep this civil? I don't know why people are thrilled with people and families being impacted by coaches losing their jobs. I thought Bo deserved to be fired, but I am not going to rejoice about it.
  21. wake up people.......Bo was an experiment....Turner?....hell no!My comment had to do with people's comments that Bo sucks, Bo is incompetent, Bo is a moron. To me if you have one of the top 100 jobs in your profession, you are doing pretty good. Not if there are only 120 jobs in your profession...But there are hundreda of thousands of football coaching jobs in the country. I include high school coaching (head and assistants) and assistant coaches in college football.

  23. The Big 12 will recognize them both as conference champions. I know Baylor beat TCU, but if you give me the eyeball test, TCU is the better team.
  24. There will be an uproar if Baylor wins and gets left out but TCU gets in. Only in Waco
